His temptation. His Undoing. His Mercy. When Ian left for college. Mercy begged to go with him, so she could escape her life of probably-fatal-small-town-boredom. He refused. Mercy found her own way out. More than a decade later, it will take her best friend's wedding to bring her back to town for more than a layover. Mercy's here for Liz. That won't stop Mercy from teasing, tempting, and pushing Ian's limits... Mostly to show him what he left behind. Only partly because he looks like a god in his tux. The moment Ian sees Mercy-confident, stunning, and definitely all grown up-he wants a taste before she vanishes back to the big city. Then Liz discovers her fiancé is already married to someone else. Ian won't add more heartbreak to his sister's life by hitting on her best friend. Besides, Mercy's advertising firm is competing with Ian's for the same make-or-break-me contract. Mercy and Ian are determined to go their separate ways, but fate has other plans. As they're thrown together again and again, the temptation of forbidden fruit proves impossible to resist...but giving in could send their worlds, and the lives of those they care about most, spiraling out of control.

Allyson Lindt has been telling stories since before she could put the words on paper. She was lucky enough to marry her muse and soul mate. Their cats are their children, and when they’re not spending way too much time gaming, they’re building new worlds together. She loves a sexy happily-ever-after and helping deserving couples find their futures together.
Although this book has more hot and steamy scenes than I'd like, I did enjoy reading it. I liked it because it is one of my favorite tropes: sister's best friend. Mercy and Ian find themselves consoling his sister Liz when she is left at the altar and finds out her fiance is actually a married man. They've grown up since the time, twelve years ago, when Ian took off for college and teen-aged Mercy was left at home. Now living in different states, they will need to figure out if there could be something between them. At 221 pages, this book is an entertaining quick read.
Mercy is fantastic. She is a strong, sexy and so accomplished because she learned early to trust herself. She may have lost her first love Ian when he went away to college but in doing so she found herself. When reunited with Ian for her best friend, Liz’s wedding it is Ian who becomes addictive to the fabulous all grown up Mercy. The push and pull of their new relationship had me cheering for Mercy and waiting for Ian to catch up.
I don’t like to give spoilers on the books that I read. I believe the blurb on the back is enough for you to decide if you will read the book or not. If you choose to read, enjoy!
OMFG just have Mercy………… Don’t like her at all. I’m only half way in and gosh this is so boring. Don’t feel any connection of any kind between them. And that’s not because of Ian but she is just so much of nothing.
ARC received from author in exchange for an honest review.
2.5* Mercy reluctantly comes home, more than a decade after she escaped, in order to attend her best friend Liz’s wedding. There are two people she wants to avoid - Ian, her best friends brother / teenage crush and her father, the man she left town to get away from all those years ago.
This had all the components of a good story, there’s a bit of drama, there’s angst, there’s romance and deception but it somehow fell short. Mercy still holds a grunge against Ian for refusing to take her with him when he left for college but the fact is 1) they weren’t in a relationship. She had a crush on him, not the other way round and 2) she was 15! Why would a guy heading off to college take a young girl with him?! Her grudge is irrational. On top of that, she protests too much (but not for long) and does it badly. I was also a bit confused about why she wanted to get away from her father so badly in the first place.
Anyway, there’s some shocking surprises in store for Liz on her wedding day. As a result, Mercy hangs around a bit longer to support her friend. I was a bit shocked at Liz’s behaviour. I had a little ‘WTF?’ Moment when she makes her little erm ‘confession’ to Mercy. She clearly isn’t thinking properly. Seriously, where did that come from? - so random!
As expected, Mercy and Ian can’t keep their hands off each other despite her weak protestation but for me, the sex lost it’s intensity because she ran so hot and cold with him. Her mouth keeps telling him it’s temporary but her body says otherwise, whereas Ian makes it clear that he wants more. For once, it’s the man who comes across as a nice guy and the girl grates on your nerves. It has a happy ending and Mercy finally gets her act together. I suspect the next instalment will be about Liz, goodness knows, there’s plenty to say about her though.
I am giving this book a 2.5 star rating. I've read other books by Allyson Lindt that I have enjoyed so I was expecting the same from this book. From the book blurb, it should have all the elements of a good story. The sex scenes are hot and steamy, but I just could not engage with these characters.
The premise of the book is that after 12 years away, Mercy comes back to her hometown for her best friend's wedding. My problems with the storyline started in Chapter 1 and continued from there. I might believe that Liz, the best friend, didn't know about her fiancee already being married if she didn't come from an "old money" family. But, especially these days, I'm sure they would have had background checks done on him and discovered that fact long before the day of the wedding.
For me, the best elements were when Mercy and Ian (Liz's brother and object of Mercy's teenage crush) were discussing their advertising businesses.
Selling Seduction is the first book in the Your Ad Here series and can be read as a standalone. I will read the next book in the series and hope I enjoy it more than I did this one. I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Selling Seduction is the first the book that I've read by Allyson Lindt & is a great second chance romance. Mercy is back in her hometown after being gone for twelve years & It's her best friends wedding but the grooms wife crashes it! Leaving herself & Liz's brother Ian to pick up the pieces. Mercy has had a crush on Ian all these years & seeing him again brings all of the emotions back to her from when he left for college & she tried to get him to take her with him & get her away from her father & a unhappy life, but she was only 15 at the time. Now she's back they are once again drawn to each other, as their chemistry & heat grows they discover they are also competing for the same advertising contract. Can they find away to make a relationship work? With Liz & work adding pressure to the already unstable couple can they find there way to have there HEA. Selling Seduction is the first book in the Your Ad Here series & can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed the start to this series & look forward to the next book.
Mercy had a crush on Ian for years. When he left for college, she tried to get him to take her with him & get her away from her father. Ian turned her down. Mercy survived but after graduation, she left town & didn't look back. She had been friends with Ian's sister, Liz, & stayed in touch. Liz is getting married & asked Mercy to be part of the wedding. The wedding never took place since the grooms wife crashed the wedding & Liz is devastated & convinces Mercy to stick around & help her get over it. Mercy & Ian meet again & the chemistry is still there. They start getting reacquainted while they are supporting Liz & trying to help her back on her feet. As their chemistry & heat grows, they discover they are competing for the same advertising contract. Also, Mercy's dad has decided he wants to reconnect & keeps putting Ian in the middle. Can they find away to make it work this time?
I loved this story. It's a hot steamy HEA with several subplots. The writing is easy to follow & the characters are realistic. Terrific value!

Mercy is back in her hometown after being gone for twelve years. Her best friend is about to get married but his wife crashes it and she is left to pick up the pieces. She talks Mercy into staying and going on her honeymoon with her. She stays but still works at her small advertising company. Ian is rich, her best friends brother, and unfortunately one of the two companies vying for the same contract. Mercy has had a crush on him for years and tried to get him to take her with him when he left for college but he turned her down. She is the type to always put an expiration date on her relationships but Ian has changed all that. He wants more but he'll have to get past her defenses and miles. Love the characters. Smart, beautiful h/h. Sex that is scorching hot. Hoping best friend Liz finds happiness. *RECEIVED A COPY FROM AUTHOR FOR HONEST REVIEW*
Ian was Mercy's teenage crush. Now twelve years later they meet again at Ian's sister, Liz, wedding. What should be a beautiful day full of love romance turns into drama when the groom's wife shows up. Ian and Mercy take charge to support Liz during and after the wedding fiasco. During this time, Ian and Mercy give into temptation and become romantically involved. Although chemistry is off the charts, distance and business conflicts threaten to keep them from an HEA. Mercy and Ian learn what's really important! I was given this book as an ARC. This was a new author for me. I enjoyed the book and plan on reading more from the author.
This is the first standalone novel in this series revolves around Mercy who returns home after 10 years for her best friend Liz's wedding and reacquainted herself with Liz's older brother Ian who moved away for college & at the time Mercy 15 years old asked to go with him & he said no. This novel is very well written and developed with no plot-holes. The writing style is easy to follow. The character's are realistic with real emotions and flaws. This series is sexy, sweet, romantic & fun read. Looking forward to reading the next novel in this series that revolves around Liz. I are was given a free copy in exchange for a honest review.
This read was romantic with a tinge of wtf moment towards the end. Enjoyed this story about Mercy and Ian finding their way back to each other. It definitely had all the feels. Starting out with a dramatic moment, and ends with a nice sexual undertone that followed them through the whole book. I enjoyed the sex scenes that drew a lot to the imagination with just the right amount of details.
In some ways I can see how this couple can second guess themselves and fumble it up. Yet they found a way to find each other in the midst of all the chaos and merge nicely.
This other flat so much to these characters that I was floored several times I was angry but I thoroughly enjoyed this journey of this couple that only did this author bring a Man whore basically together with a one night from a childhood friend.
The sex was hot but at times missed the mark.
The happily ever after and the combination of these two characters brought a sense of longing that we all would love to have in our childhood to adult hood.
Selling Seduction is a great story about dealing with one's history, evolving, and believing in one's self. Mercy and Ian must learn how to handle their new relationship while treading lightly with their relationships with Liz. Throw the professional complications to the mix and we have a fast paced interesting story filled with romance, passion, and self discovery. A great read and highly recommended!
Selling Seduction is a story of finally getting your teenage crush to notice you when you're all grown up. I really enjoy the author's idea of getting our H/h back in the same zip code at a wedding that goes all wrong. Ian and Mercy were flirty and fun, there conversations and easy banter were fun to read. I wasn't a fan of one part of the story involving Mercy and her BFF's relationship. I'm interested in the remaining books to come and ready to read other books by this author.
Selling Seduction by Allyson Lindt was a good read it was cute and flirty with just the right amount of sexy thrown in it. I loved how Ian and Mercy were the same in attitude and in way of thinking of how relationships worked. It was also good seeing how they have affected each other and helped each other grow and become complete people. I can’t wait to see what this author will do next with these characters.
Awww, what a sexy-sweet new series that will suck you in and not let go. I liked that the characters were strong but still have real flaws like someone you would personally know. The friendship that the story is centered around is really good and I could see some of the things they did happening in realy life with me and my BFF..lol Lost love coming back together and trying to make it work always has a special place in my heart.
Mercy ran away to deal with her troubled life and the man who wrote her off as a 15 year old girl. Now she is at her best friends wedding wondering if she will be able to find the strength to face him again. When he comes to tell is sister that the man she is going to marry is not the man she thought he was Mercy realises she has to put her feelings aside to help her best friend through the second most difficult time in her life.
Allyson Lindt's "Selling Seduction" is the first tale in the Your Ad Here series. Allyson has done it again. So very sexy. Do *not* read this when you're somewhere that you can't stop to take care of business! OMG! Ian is hawt...an OCD chick's wet dream! I can't wait to read the rest of the series. I hope sweet Liz gets a sexy love in #2.

This was an ok read. I wasn't completely impressed but as I haven't read anything by this author before I will try another book by this author as I am not sure if it was the story line I had trouble with or the way it was written.
This one was sweet. I am a geek so it was a lot of fun reading about geek stuff in a book. I enjoyed the romance and the issues they went through. I liked the writing.. it was all fun and sweet to read. I am glad I got to review it
