This book was a pleasant surprise. The author's down-to-earth approach made it easy to connect with his personal experiences, which added a relatable touch to the topic of habits and behavior. Rather than advocating for brute willpower, he emphasizes understanding the root causes of negative behaviors and reshaping our environments to reduce temptations—a refreshing perspective. While the title might be a bit misleading (it's more about habits than self-discipline), the content is valuable and insightful. Though lengthy at times, the book offers practical exercises and motivational insights, making it a worthwhile read for anyone looking to make lasting changes in their life. I'd give it a solid 4.5 out of 5.

“Easy Self-Discipline” is a book about building discipline without willpower — essentially like running a marathon without leaving the couch. The author assures you that habits can form effortlessly, sounding suspiciously like an infomercial for “lose 20 pounds without diet or exercise.” Reading it feels like fast food: easy to consume, briefly satisfying, but ultimately empty calories. If you’re looking for revelations, there are none — just old ideas dressed in fresh packaging. To be fair, the packaging is shiny enough to keep people buying. In the end, the only discipline this book teaches is how to keep paying for recycled clichés.”

Very practical, focuses on what you can do in practice to change your habits. If that is what you are looking for this book is a good simple guide. If you want more background or learn about the science of habits you are better off going for one of the classics such as The Power of Habit.

The audiobook is pleasantly narrated.

Excellent!!! Very helpful and well written.

I have already snapped into action after reading this book. It is to the point and very helpful. I definitely recommend reading this book.

Easy to follow and relate!

Everything is direct and to the point. The author compares his own personal habits making it relatable! Can't wait to bring these tools into my daily life!
