The Maguires and Laws have enjoyed six years of peace. No one has tried to attack them or take what's theirs and Mikey and Jules are still the king and queen of Manchester in the eyes of the criminal underworld. However, all the long years of fighting and struggling to protect their family and everything they own has taken its toll and the major players are starting to feel their age.
Katia Brody has been dreaming of revenge for the murder of the two men she loved. She's spent the years training her strapping teenage twin sons Alex and Daniel - Maguires through their father's side - to hate their biological family and to see them as the enemy. While in Spain, she encounters Joseph Wilkinson, a savage and calculating ex-pat who wants to help bring her dreams to fruition and seize the Maguires' empire, which she sees as her sons' birthright. They come up with a plan to hit the Maguires in a completely new way. Bullets and blood they're prepared for but this insidious attack leaves the Maguires and Laws reeling. They hope they're still up to fighting a war, one that will be fought at a distance rather than up close.
Please note, this book is part of a series and not a stand alone novel.

Author of over seventy books so far. Living on the beautiful west coast of Scotland with my husband, twin daughters and a cat called Mavis, although I am originally from Lancashire in the north of England.
My tastes in all things are eclectic, which extends to my writing. Although I primarily write crime books - especially gangland thrillers - I also write gothic historical romance and fantasy. I publish on Amazon Kindle and some of my novels are available in paperback too. I also have a traditional publishing contract with Boldwood Books.
When I'm not writing - which isn't very often - I enjoy reading Daphne Du Maurier, Edgar Allan Poe, Shirley Jackson, MR James and the Brontes, among many others. I also enjoy swimming, walking and spending time with my family.
I was so eager to catch up with Mickey,Jules,Ryan,Rachel and the rest of the family after the last gang war they fought. The loss of Jez has hit them all hard but they have to carry on but Mickey and Jules are now feeling their age and are determined to retire in a couple of years when shane feels ready to take over.Back in devon Ryan and Rachel are having problems with their eldest boy Ethan and the fights he keeps having. But when he drops the bombshell that he doesn't want to join them in their businesses and one day to take over they are shocked.Empire is about the family businesses both legal and criminal and i have to say it is a BRILLIANT book and well worth the 5*
Wow absolutely brilliant. I practically devoured it to begin with! Re familiarizing myself with the characters and getting to know the up and coming Ethan and Archie both forces to be reckoned with. I found myself pre empting the story line which was excellent. Tom Reece Nonce millionaire decides to take down the maguires with the help of the Wilkinson’s in Spain . The evil Katie she is certainly slippery as a snakes belly what an absolute whore bag ! But credit to her , her eye is firmly on the prize as she grooms her twins to carry out her future revenge. Lots of plot twists and a great story no spoilers from me I can’t wait for the next book .
This book was great, the Laws and the Miguires are up to their new in it once more. The book has the lot in it.We have them being attacked but there's not a gangster in sight, it's all done on line and the family's are up to their necks in it once again. We have some of the younger character s having a better part to play in this book and they do an excellent job. I can't wait for the next in the series.
I already enjoyed the rest of the dividing line series so I knew I'd love this one too. I can't believe that there's only gonna be one more book then dividing line has finished😢 I love all the characters and the whole story line so this book was definitely a must. I'd recommend the whole series from the start as every book was an un-put-down-able read. Absolutely brilliant
Heather Atkinson is one of my favourite author's .This is one of my favourite series and I never want it to end ,every book takes you deeper into the characters lives ,if you are going to start a series I would definitely recommend this 1 from the first book till now it never gets tired .⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My goodness . Heather strikes again. This book is a deffo page Turner . finished it at 5 this morning. The mix of family interaction is brilliant. Love them all. Opening up the next generation. Great read. Not all fist fights and agro. It's very well intertwined n brings technology into the fight. Brilliant 👏
This is another exciting and action packed story from Heather. My kindle is hot from all the action. It was great to catch up with Rachael and Ryan and the family, they are never boring. The next generation is being fed nicely into the theme and are an asset to the parents when they're needed. I can thoroughly recommend this book as a continued follower of the Dividing Line.
This is by far the best gangland series I’ve ever read and this instalment didn’t disappoint. HA has created an intricately woven storyline over the series based on the same addictive characters and it’s a masterpiece.
Another first class read. My god this series is bloody brilliant. Addictive, something going on, on every page. Certainly best read in order. Love each and every character this author creates. They all have their own different qualities that really add to the story.
