As an only child, raised by two loving parents, it wasn’t difficult for Erin to make the decision to return to Rosewood Bay to care for her sick mother. Made easier when combined with leaving her loveless marriage. She hadn’t intended to fall in love, but no one plans for these things. The fact he was tall, dark, handsome, mysterious and completely different to her ex, only served to sweeten the deal. Maybe a “bad boy” was just what she needed in her life.
Curtis “Ripper” Bandura has spent his life running from his demons. When he meets the sexy red-haired nurse, he knows she is too good to be true. He’s not the kind to find a girl and settle down. Everything falls apart sooner or later. For now, he’s prepared to bask in the sun for a while. Unfortunately, trouble has a way of following him around and it’s not long before that trouble threatens to destroy all his hopes and dreams. There is only so long he can hide his past from the woman he loves, and he knows it will be enough to destroy them both.
When their two worlds collide, Ripper’s dark past threatens to tear both their worlds apart. Can the truth save them both or is it too late?
Tee Smith lives in a small town in country Western Australia. Her four children are all grown and she recently became a proud grandma. Her novels are primarily romantic suspense. She reads almost everything, but loves nothing more than a good psycho-thriller.
Unbreakable is the first book in The Diamonds series by Tee Smith. It is a contemporary romantic suspense with mystery, emotion, angst, secrets, and lies. While I did enjoy the story, I feel like it was a little slow to get going, and lagged in places, which frustrated me a little. Because of that, it took me a while to really get into the story…… but that might just be me. I will revisit this story again later to see if I still feel the same way or whether I was just having an “off” reading session. Again, I did enjoy the story and the angsty emotion- but I feel that the author missed an opportunity to take this story to the next level by adding more intensity, action, and drama… Unbreakable is a story about finding love unexpectedly. Erin and ‘Ripper’ are a case of opposites attract- she’s the ‘good girl’ and he’s the quintessential ‘bad boy’. Erin is trying for a fresh start, leaving her old life behind and moving back to her hometown to care for her ailing mother. Ripper has some pretty heavy baggage, and a past that won’t stop haunting him. Just when things start looking up for both of them, his past casts a dark shadow over their future. The book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger that’s intended to lead us into the next book.
This was a start in a new series for me, and I certainly got sucked in quickly with the novel and the characters. The book was so good I can not express. The story pulls you in, and holds you close, and you learn more about the characters and who they are, and you really feel for them. It was amazingly good!
Erin is the main female love interest in this book. She is a nurse and very caring as well as dutiful to her duties. She had secrets of her own, ones that only her heart knew best from all aspects. She goes day by day doing what she does best which is healing others, but what if a chance came for someone to heal her wombs'? Would she take a leap of faith or let the scars consume her?
Throw in a sexy bad boy named Ripper. He has had led quite the different life than Erin has. He has the I am better off on my own attitude, but yet he seems to feel incomplete. All changes for what he knows when these two souls interact. Ripper gets hurt, and he needs some tender loving care, and he just so happens to get this beautiful, kind hearted, and free spirited nurse named Erin.
Ripper feels something not possible. She was not what he normally would go after. Having an attraction for something real more than just a good time to feel good, is normally what he likes on his dinner plate. Erin feels something too, something she can not deny, but how? Why? Would they trust their feelings?
Ripper had nothing to give or so he felt. Yet he wanted her more than anything he ever thought he wanted or would want. He had past, that the law doesn't speak very lightly on. He knows if Erin found out this would be the end of things he's got going, and he knows tis a good thing....but is love really worth all this risk in the end? Things take a turn when their lives get aught in that fly swatter even more, when Erin funds out but not the way he wanted. With everything brought to light, the impossible had to be asked, is what they feel have, is it worth the pain and secrets of the past that made them who they were?
I really loved these two characters, especially when their secrets and pain were brought to the surface and they really opened up to one anther, and really allowed themselves to feel things they always wanted, but never felt inside their hearts, they truly deserved. They had found their safe haven truly, but with anything as beautiful as this love, they both knew they would have to work hard to keep it, other wise it would be gone and they would have the biggest regret ever of their lives upon them.
The author brought forth two beautiful characters, despite their scars they were beautiful in their own way. I really fell in love with them both and wanted them to get their happy ending. I will defiantly be reading the next one in this series. I can not wait to see what happens in the next book in the series!
When Erin's latest patient comes in and she has to sew him up after being stabbed, her world will never be the same. There is something about Ripper that has caught her eye and made her feel things she hasn't in a while. When he keeps crossing her path, she finds herself opening up to him. However, when someone else takes the liberty of telling her about Rippers past, Erin doesn't know that Ripper is someone she needs in her life.
Ripper has led a life that most do not approve of. As a part of the Diamonds, he is still doing things that are not on the up-and-up. However, he is content with hook-ups and his dog Zeus. When he meets Erin, though, that all changes. He is drawn to her. However, when he finds out who her father is after a brutal attack...things start clicking into place for both of them. He knows he has to be honest with her...but someone beats him to it and he is pretty sure he has lost her for good.
This book tugged and my heartstrings and made me feel for these characters. They have both been through a lot...and are still going through things...but somehow they have found each other. When their pasts threaten to halt their futures, they must decide if they can move past it. When Erin's past comes back and reveals their true self, they may not even have a future to work on.
This book has a lot going on...but I enjoyed it. Their pasts are both full of hurt and secrets that make themselves known throughout the story. I found myself rooting for them to make it work. I was surprised by the ending...and happy that it opens up the possibility of another book. Overall, a good book!
Unbreakable (The Diamonds Book 1) by Tee Smith has romance and suspense. It can be the best of both worlds.
Erin made the decision to return to Rosewood Bay to care for her ailing mother because she was an only child raised by two loving parents. It's made simpler by the fact that she's leaving her loveless marriage. She hadn't planned to fall in love, but life doesn't often go as planned. The fact that he was tall, dark, gorgeous, secretive, and nothing like her ex just added to the allure. Perhaps a "bad lad" was just what she required in her life.
Curtis "Ripper" Bandura has spent his whole life attempting to escape his problems. He thinks she's too good to be true when he meets the sultry red-haired nurse. He's not the kind to marry and start a family. Everything eventually comes apart. For the time being, he's content to lie in the sun. Trouble, unfortunately, has a habit of following him around, and it's not long until it threatens to demolish all of his aspirations and goals. He knows he can only keep his history hidden from the woman he loves for so long before it destroys them both. Ripper's dark history threatens to tear their worlds apart when their worlds intersect. Is it too late for them both to be saved by the truth?
I loved this story and the concept of it as well. I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is the first book that I have read from this author, I cant wait to read more of the series.
To me Unbreakable(Diamonds Book 1) by Tee Smith started out slow but I’m glad I didn’t stop reading at that point as I have in the past. Definitely witty with some edge. I loved Ripper and as the story went on and we got to know him better I loved him more. Ripper has a difficult past one that makes him fear loving anyone because he’s just going to hurt them. Till Erin stitched him up at the clinic one day, he knew no matter what he did he couldn’t stay away, feelings he didn’t understand. A love triangle brewing with Erin’s ex-husband Josh hanging around. Does Ripper get over his fears? Does Josh cause problems? Of course there’s also the underground world of gangs mixed in. The Diamonds being a group who are well established vs a young group of street rats threatening to take over. They threaten their businesses, family, and well being. The Diamonds don’t take kindly to this or of the attacks that have taken place to their loved ones. Does something bad happen? Do they have to take matters into their own hands? These and the questions mentioned previously are what’s going to keep reading through the twists and turns of this suspenseful romance. I know that’s what did it for me, and now I’m wanting more!
This is the first book I've read by Smith. Unbreakable had me hooked from the first line. Ripper and Erin's story will have you wanting more.
Erin loves working at the free clinic. After losing her mom she threw herself into work. She tends to Ripper and can't stop thinking about him. The quote I chose for Erin is: “No, it’s not okay. No one could ever beat me up about what happened to Salinda as much as I beat myself up. You went to prison for what you did and lost your whole family. My family loved me, supported and protected me. You were just a scared little boy. I can’t even imagine what it must have been like for you.”
Ripper is part of the Diamonds. They built their town and now it's being threatened. When he goes to the clinic to get stitched up he meets Erin. The quote I chose for Ripper is: “I’ve done my time, Erin. It will never be enough. I will always have to live with what I’ve done. Ten years in prison was only the beginning of the punishment. I get it. I don’t deserve you. I don’t deserve anything. I’m sorry, darlin’. You’ve got to believe me; I’m so sorry.”
Erin Murphy is a nurse at a local clinic. She returned to Rosewood Bay after her marriage failed when her mother was sick with cancer to help her father. After her mother passed, she decided to stick around as there was nothing to return to her previous hometown for.
Curtis “Ripper” Bandara has a past life that he would never forget and no ties to his siblings. He currently works stripping cars, reupholstering, and repainting them for sale. He is also a henchman for the Diamonds, a group of four men, who made and run Rosewood Bay. With the influx of a group of bangers that are younger, the men have a challenge before them so that war doesn’t break out in the Bay.
Being out with a friend and being slashed by a knife is the reason Ripper ends up in Erin’s clinic. The two have an electric spark, but Ripper knows that his life is not the life for Erin. When a friend ends up in trouble he calls Erin for help. She assists in making sure his friend doesn’t die. Shortly after, Erin ends up in trouble and Ripper takes her home.
Can the two work out the mystery of who is trying to hurt her? Is it because of Ripper or someone else in her life? Will the sparks they felt the first time they met ever lead to anything more?
Unbreakable by Tee Smith I was an ARC reviewer for author Tee Smith for Unbreakable - Diamonds Book One. My review is based on my own opinions, and I was not coerced or compensated for this review.
Erin is a nurse at the Rosewood Bay clinic, where she treats a gorgeous man named Ripper for a stab injury.
After loosing her mother 5 years ago she takes on huge responsibilities, caring for her dad and trying to keep everything in her life together.
Ripper has not had an easy life, he is a hardened criminal but loyal to those he cares about and has a thurst for justice.
There is alot of sexual tension built between Ripper and Erin and he needs to realise he deserves a good life with Erin and and is worthy of her love.
I knew it would make an interesting read from the blurb.
What I underestimated were the twists and turns and emotional journey right till the end. I was held captive through the authors words.
Tee Smith has a gift in telling a story through strong characters, challenges they face, strong friendships and relationships.
There will be many happy readers with this series if this book is anything to go by.
This is book one in the Diamonds series and it looks like its going to be a good one. This book contains 2 of my favourite things. Romance and danger. The author does an amazing job taking the reader into a world where our lead character Ripper lives. From a bad childhood, to prison, to now being part of a kinda of Mafia style company. Ripper is mixed into allsorts of things. Trouble always seems to come looking for him even when he doesn't want it. He's never entertained the idea of finding someone to love because let's face it who would want someone as messed up as him.
The Nurse Erin walks into his life. Erin has her own past, with the loss of her mother and her failed married she is just starting to find her own feet. The last thing she expected is to fall for a guy. Especially a guy who is a bad boy like Ripper. With trouble coming for Ripper can he risk dragging Erin into his life? Could the secrets he keeps destroy them or make them stronger? And will Erin finally find the man of her dreams in Ripper despite his flaws or will this be another relationship doomed to fail from the beginning.
Tee Smith's debut novel in the Diamonds Series has earned a four-star rating. "Unbreakable" builds momentum from the beginning where we are introduced to Erin, a likable character who returns to Rosewood Bay to care for her ill mother. Leaving a loveless marriage, Rosewood Bay offers her a chance to return home and to find romance with Curtis “Ripper” Bandura. Curtis is the opposite of Erin's ex-husband in every possible way and his tall, darkly handsome features make falling for his bad-boy persona an easy decision. For Curtis, falling for Erin wasn't part of his plan but her kind heart, good looks, and sexy red hair win his heart and change his mind. Curtis wants things to work out and for this to be a fresh start but his past has a way of finding him and it seems this time will be no different. How will his past alter the course of their relationship or can this time truly be different? Join Curtis and Erin in Rosewood Bay for an entertaining read.
I enjoyed this book. This is a newer author for me and I look forward to reading more from her in the future. This is a well written story about two people, one who has a dark past and the other who has no intention of falling in love with anyone. Erin returns home to care for her sick mother. What she doesn’t expect is to come face to face with “Ripper”. The problem is that he has a dark past and it could cause harm to their relationship. She never expected to fall for him or his past. Will the truth save their relationship or will it destroy it? I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the beginning by the characters. They are connectable and brought life to the story. I enjoyed watching their growth throughout the story. They have a great chemistry together. I found myself hoping they would end up together at the end. They made the story fun and easy to read. This is a really great story that I enjoyed. I highly recommend this book.
When Ripper goes to the local clinic to avoid questions, nurse Erin is the one to stitch his gash back together. Both of them take notice of the other but Erin is at work and can't flirt with a patient. Fate throws them back together again but both have issues in their current lives. Ripper has his best mate and his mate's daughter that he is worried about as well as his not so legal work. Erin is trying to help her dad move on after the death of her mother but they keep running into each other and are inclined to give in to fate. Opinion This book is a great read. With short chapters, it is perfect for the person who is on the go and has to read in between tasks. The allure of the shady side of the law, for me, makes this book quite intersting. The rhythm of the words draw the reader in while Ripper's mate's daughter has the reader's protective side jumping out. This is the first book in a promising series.
I loved this book! I'm fairly new to reading Tee Smith, so wasn't quite sure what to expect. I connected with the main characters, really sympathized with them and felt like I understood them and their motivations. I care about them, and about some of the side characters. (There is a little girl who is just the cutest and reminds me of my niece.) I am very excited to find out what happens with the rest of the crew! Now, a warning. I usually read cozy books and YA, not for any particular reason, that just happens to be what I've been into lately. This book does have a lot of swearing, and some violence. Given the nature of the book and the occupation of the MC, it makes sense to have that and didn't bother me. However, if you are sensitive to those sort of things, this might not be your cup of tea. If it doesn't bother you, then definitely give this book a chance!
Ripper Bandura is definitely a sexy bad guy in this romantic suspense novel. For all his bravado and strength, he has surprisingly little experience in a relationship, so when he falls for Nurse Erin, it catches them both off-guard. He's also a complex character that is more than just a typical 'bad boy'. Unfortunately, his childhood was abusive and sent him down a path of crime from an early age. The relationship between Ripper and Erin seems like an unlikely match for many reasons, but they find themselves compelled to each other regardless. The backstory of Erin's father gives the plot lots of interest, and it speeds up quickly with the family business and the reemergence of Erin's first husband. Lots of drama to keep up interest, and the ground is already laid for some explosive happenings in book 2!
Unbreakable (The Diamonds Book 1) by Tee Smith. This is the story of Erin who is a beautiful red headed nurse who has had her share of heartbreak. When she returns home to Rosewood Bay to care for her ailing mother she never dreams of meeting bad boy Curtis "Ripper" Bandura. Ripper is a bad boy to the bone and he's not one for falling in love and settling down but when he meets Erin, sexy, beautiful Erin he's willing to ride it out and see what happens. When Erin and Curtis connect it is pure chemistry! Erin knows that Ripper is not the kind of guy to settle down but she's afraid she's falling for him. When Ripper's past comes haunting him it may solve everything because they are out for blood! Will Ripper survive the doom of his past and will he and Erin find a way to make it work? Read Unbreakable to find out!
Unbreakable is the first book in The Diamonds series by Tee Smith. This read is a contemporary romance and a bit of an emotional journey. It is full of sexual tension and drama, danger and horrible ex’s, violence and suspense, secrets and lies. The characters are nicely fleshed out and a little complex and there is a little mystery to keep things interesting. It started a little slow but soon found ground. Good girl meets bad boy, and it doesn’t matter what side of the tracks you are from, right or wrong, when love and the heart is involved. The only problem is that trouble will always follow you.
Wow this is one fantastic book! Erin is a nurse at a clinic when she first meets Curtis “Ripper” Bandura. At first, there is instant heat between them. As the story unfolds you really feel for these characters. There is a very dark past that comes to light about Ripper that Erin finds out. Can she forgive Ripper for his past? You learn also about Erin, and what she has been through as well. Two hearts with different upbringings and dark pasts. This story is full of intrigue, murder, love and redemption. I don’t want to give to much away but highly recommend this book by Author Tee Smith… praying there will be a book 2 😊
Unbreakable by Tee Smith is the first book in the Diamond series. For me this book is all about the characters and their connection. Although they are complete opposites they have such a strong connection - the chemistry between them is so believable and real. I thought the story line was good as well.bit felt like it built slowly throughout leading you to where it finishes. It was quite intense in some places and then less so in others, a good mix of the two. It is a well written book that leaves you wanting to read the next in the series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to book 2.
Unbreakable is book one in the Diamonds series by Tee Smith. This one is a story that takes a little while to get going, and flowed along nicely, if not a little sedately. The story was really well written and the characters I found quite beguiling and very entertaining. For some wild reason, Ripper just made my heart ache. He brought out my protective mamma instincts and he was by far the most appealing in the story. Erin was not as easy to get a read on. But all that aside, the story as a whole was a good one. It was easy to follow and had a bit of excitement, drama and dangerous deeds. Great word structure and character creation made Unbreakable an enjoyable read. 4 stars.
Unbreakable is the first book in the Diamonds Series by Tee Smith. I had not previously read any of this author’s work but I was intrigued by the blurb and decided to give it a try. I’m very glad that I chose to read Unbreakable as I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading the rest of the series. As we as being the story of Ripper and Erin, we are introduced to the Diamonds and they type of operations that they run. Let’s just say it involves a lot of danger, drama and intrigue. Erin had returned home after a failed marriage to look after her sick mother. Her mother has now passed on and Erin is trying to get on with her life and look after her father who has found solace in the whisky bottle. Erin first meets Ripper when he attends the clinic she’s a nurse at to get a stab wound examined. He’s totally taken by the beautiful red headed nurse and over time tries to get close to her. I loved Erin and Ripper’s story. Not only do we have the romance story between them but there is so much going on with the Diamonds which bring a few surprises to the reader and causes Erin to re-evaluate her life. This is a really great read that had me gripped from the very beginning, right up to the very end. It’s full of danger and drama and will keep the reader entertained and not want to put the book down.
Unbreakable is a dramatic, suspenseful, and heartwarming romance. It’s about new beginnings, redemption, and love just as much as it is about secrets, lies, and heartbreak. Everything in the plot ties together so well. Erin and Ripper begin to fall in love before discovering they have more in common than they know. In the end, it’s what brings them closer together. You’ll be left with a cliffhanger that has you reeling for more! I’m excited to see what happens in the rest of the Diamonds series!
Unbreakable is the first installment of The Diamonds series by Tee Smith. In this story we meet good girl Erin and bad boy Ripper. We get to see how they meet and fall for each other and have to overcome obstacles from their pasts that may affect their futures. I really enjoyed how the Romance and Suspense entwined with each other. It made me want to keep reading page after page. I can't wait for the second installment of the series. I'm hoping we'll get to know more of the characters we were introduced to in book 1.
Unbreakable (The Diamonds Book 1) by Tee Smith was my first read by Tee Smith and I can honestly say that I was not disappointed. The cover alone was enough to snag my attention, combine that with the synopsis of the book and I just knew I had to read it. This book is a contemporary romance but it’s filled with so many twists that you could never put it down. This contemporary romance has angst, drama, mystery and so much more. The characters are incredibly well developed and the plot is woven perfectly, I for one can’t wait for book two.
If anyone knows me, they know I’m a SUCKER for any kind of dark, angst-y, moody, sexy bad boy romance. Especially if they are anything like Ripper! This is my first book from Tee Smith and y’all. 👀. This book is *chefs kiss*. It hits all those sweet spots for me. A heroine with secrets- and a smoking hot bad boy who you KNOW has his own secrets and a past of his own just from his description alone! Was I in love with every aspect of their romance? No! And I’m pretty sure we aren’t supposed to be! I can’t wait for the next one and y’all should check it out too! Onto the next! 💖
Unbreakable shares the story or Erin and Curtis "Ripper." Ripper is a man that feels tainted by his life choices, and trapped with his demons in which he deems himself a man no woman can love. When a night out ends with him being stabbed he ends up at a Free Clinic and meets Erin who is his nurse. Both have pasts they cant ignore, and secrets they cant escape, but an attraction and need for another that they also cant deny. Its a beautiful story about 2 mismatched people that despite all odds were meant to be with an unbreakable love that knows no bounds. Tee Smith wrote a great book.
I enjoyed the characters and secondary characters. for me the books between 3 and 4 stars because the first half was a bit too slow and drawn out and needed a bit more action and dram. it took a minute to really figure out where this story was heading...aside from that the second half was great overall a nice easy read. for those that was to know in advance there is a HEA but then ends in a bit of a cliffhanger I suspect as a lead in for the next book.
This is book one of the diamond series and I loved it. Will definitely be continuing the series. Loved the characters from the start and the chemistry between them. Two completely different people with opposite pasts drawn to eachother despite either of them wanting a relationship. This book had lots of up's and downs to keep you interested, with a couple twists I definitely didn't see coming! The writing was good and everything seemed to flow well. Can't wait to read book 2!
This is the first book in the Diamonds series. This was a really good story, I got pulled into it from the start. The only problem I had with it was that it was told in the third point of view. Sorry, deal breaker. Other than that I really enjoy this story and I will follow the rest in the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Loved the first book in this new series with nurse Erin who meets stab victim MC member Ripper in the clinic where she works. She has had a wonderful childhood while Ripper has lived an abusive one due to his stepfather. There is suspense, violence and sweet romance that kept reading long into the night and can not wait for the next book in this series.
This starts off unexpected. Now Ripper has a kid in toe and what are the to do with her. Mia is so cute and such a good girl. Ripper I actually felt very connected to his character and really enjoyed learning about him. Erin I was hit and miss with but she seems sharp witten and caring. Each chapter brought a new element to this story it is paced extremely well. I can't wait to read more.
