Oooo! This is one of those books written by science nerds who have a lot of delightful science expertise to offer on a specific geography. LOL, just presented in a somewhat amaturish package. In this case, I've enjoyed dipping my toes into the major topics at hand - Billion-year-old rifts, filling the rift, faults, continental glaciers, and the Big Lake!! (I mean, ask me about those fossilized stramtolites.) A delightful brush of information is presented in the book itself and I'm happy I can look deeper by scanning those embedded QR codes - but perhaps they're more of an eyesore?

Anyway, I'm still coasting high on the delight derived from my first far-away vacation in over a year, so I'm gonna give this four stars. Maybe someday I will scan those QR codes!
