Ariya Dev enjoys being a freelance photojournalist. She takes up an assignment as a Celebrity Photographer when her best friend asks her as a favor. She wasn't thrilled to work with celebrities who were typically arrogant, but she was up for a challenge. She has been in the broadcast industry long enough to know what to do and who to avoid.
Veer Thakur is the celebrity animal doctor also known as 'The Hot Beast Lover' with a huge fan following and the looks to make a living as a model. His love for the animal kingdom and the passion for what he does made him famous, but he has less than two years before he has to drop everything to take over his father's multi-million-dollar businesses.
Falling in love is inevitable when you meet the right person. Follow Ariya and Veer's story to find out how their lives meld together in this sweet and touching story of a complete stranger becoming a vital part of one's life.
I’m sucker for any cover that has puppies so thumbs up to the author because it was why I read this book or else I wouldn’t have touched it.
I put it down a couple of times, it wasn't holding my attention and I just wanted to finish it.
I couldn’t connect with neither one of them. I didn’t feel any chemistry between them either. There was one time that they were kidnapped in Ecuador and the heroine was laughing like nothing was happening, like they weren’t trying to escape. I wouldn’t have been laughing, I would have been kicking ass trying to rescue my own ass.
And when they went back to the states and they separated for a month, the pathetic hero waited for her to go after him. What kind of man waits for the woman to go after him? Isn’t he a man enough to go after what he wants? This hero also didn’t have any ounce of possessiveness or jealousy for the heroine even men asked her out. I guess he showed maturity and I found it kinda ok that he wasn't a possessive asshole but at least show a bit of interest that someone was asking his woman out in front of him. He looked bored when the man asked his girlfriend out.
I wanted smoke signals letting me know that he was celibate during that month.
The cover is beautiful. I loved the story and its twists and turns. The characters are relatable and lovable, not only the main ones but also the secondary characters. The relationship between the sisters has been described beautifully and I loved the easy camaraderie between them. The friendship between Ariya and Stefan has been portrayed very well. The chemistry between Veer and Ariya is electric.
The descriptions are detailed and the scenes could be easily visualized. The book is fast paced and unputdownable. I loved it when Ariya sees Veer for the first time galloping on the horse and she is going click-click-click.
So I’m not sure why I keep picking this author up. Turns out that I’ve only read two books by her but I feel I’ve skimmed through more. I feel she writes these OTT romance plots which remind me of Indian soaps - so real comfort reading over the weekend..
However, I am bamboozled by this book - other than the author name recognition, this book on Goodreads has a great cover, with such a cute dog. So I figured, a romance about a hot animal doctor (not a vet - an animal doctor per the book) - that sounded good. But the Kindle Unlimited version had a different cover - which was not as fun. I was robbed!! (not really - but I do wonder at the change - check out the editions. So disappointing).
The book, too, was an unfortunate let down. There was hardly any passion promised by the title. The plotting was odd - which I expect from the author - but this one was dull. The hero’s doctor story mattered not at all. There were odd mentions of the heroine’s sister wedding and previous relationships which never really made an appearance. I may have to go try another book by this author to see if this is a general problem or just with this one.
Either way - I just didn’t like this which was a shame. Ah well - next time.
How do we not fall in love with characters like Ariya and Veer, strong, loving and vulnerable in their own ways. A strong story line and a good pace make it an irresistible read.
There are books written that take you away into their setting and the lives of their characters for a few hours away from the routine of our lives, and this is one such story. Go ahead, read it, enjoy it!!
I really enjoyed Ariya and Veer's story (not forgetting the dog that was the cherry on top of the cake) and I found it hard to put the book down until the end. Not to be missed one more success by P. G. Van.
Ariya has the assignment of photographing the hotshot vet, Veer. The moment she saw him riding, his muscles flexing and his hair flying, she knew she has met a man who would be hard to forget. Of course, sparks fly from the moment she meets him and she finds out that he is the best assignment she could have asked for. Ariya's life changes into a roller coaster life as she is kidnapped along with him and she also learns to conquer some of her darkest fears in the days she stays with Veer. Veer's love is very subtle, In fact, this book of P. G Van surprised me. The love story grows emotionally with as the story progresses. Ariya has many shades in this story. To the self-confident photographer to being a vulnerable daughter.
Both the characters, Veer and Ariya are well developed. Even the friends have a role to play and I find that very important in a story. But if I had to choose my favorite it would be Ariya. She had all the shades of life in her. I liked the way she displayed vulnerability and it did come as a surprise to me when the story took this sudden turn. On the other hand, Veer could have shown a bit more emotion. I felt Ariya was the one strong woman whereas Veer had taken a backstep to her. But then all strong female tends to do that to a man.
The best part of this book for me was the introduction of Veer.
"It was a marvelous sight, and there was no denying the beauty of the man and the beast as they rode through the rain. The man had thick, long, dark hair that was drenched but bounced on his broad shoulders as he enjoyed his ride."
The rest you must read to find out. :) Check out all my reviews at www.rubinaramesh.com
Title: FALLING FOR HIM Author: PG Van Genre: Romance/New Adult My Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5
QOTD: What happens if you mix professional life and private life? I guess you’re up for a lot of drama 😉 “She still remembered the moment their eyes met for the first time, and she wished she had known, falling for him, madly, deeply in love, was inevitable” This is the second book I read from the author. The first one was THE MARRIAGE CONTRACT and I adored both the books. The writing was simple yet captivating. The way Ariya and Veer fell for each other, despite the arrival of difficult circumstances between them, kept me enthralled till the end! I’m a sucker for romcoms and I loved how the sparkling connection between the main characters bloomed throughout the story. The descriptions are detailed and the scenes could be easily visualized by the readers. A must-read for any romance lover 😊 Available in kindle.
