FBI Agent Jade Monroe’s rare Saturday off doesn't last long. By midafternoon, she and her partner, Lorenzo DeLeon, are en route to Montana, where a young man's body has been discovered along the interstate. He's been branded, and from the reports coming in from neighboring states, other bodies dumped along freeways have been too.
C.M. Sutter was born in San Jose, California and split time between the sunny California coast and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a senior in high school, she chose Wisconsin as her permanent address. After many years in the Badger State, she decided on a warmer year-round climate to call home and moved south. Years of progression took her from working in large companies, to twelve years as a massage therapist, and finally, owning a corporation. She has been self-employed for over twenty years. Ms. Sutter has been writing and self-publishing since 2014 with eleven titles published in a different genre. Because of her deep interest in crime and thriller novels, she took up writing in the police procedural/crime thriller genre in 2016.
C. M. Sutter takes no prisoners. She has no compunction against killing off sympathetic characters, or putting her protagonists in extreme danger. She has an amazing mind; creating bizarre crimes, with the baddest of the bad guys, and still makes you believe that it could happen. She's a master. Jade Monroe, her main character is smart, tough, kind, and resourceful. She always maintains her humanity and is engaged and engaging. This story ranges over multiple states and terrains and is a definite page turner. I've read a number of Ms. Sutter's books, and there hasn't been one clunker in the bunch. Check her out. Buy her books and support her. She's a gem.
One reason it's the best is there was more character development in this one and it made for a better story. You can ignore this next if you want. I have a little quirk. I really dislike the term "continue on". I feel that often just " continue" is sufficient or some other word or words could be used. Throughout the four books I've read the term "continue on" has been used innumerable times. I've come close to just not reading any more of the series because of it, but I'm going to hang in there a bit longer.
C.M. Sutter is getting better with each book. More realistic, so you want to keep reading. I'm a little upset how in the reading e-book world, they are making more money because nothing is printed out, but after you read maybe four books of a series, they start charging more for the rest of the books because they know you are now sucked in. I think this stinks and is greed. I think many will stop reading series of books because of this.
Another nail biting busy many twist and turns. Love that agent Monroe gets the bad people. This book relates to today with all the children being trafficked. Please read this an encourage others to read. If you see something say something. Ty CM for another great read.
I know strange title but this story is gut wrenching... and sadly it happens all over the world. C.M. Sutter writes a great story full of every emotion possible. Very gripping. Jade Monroe is a bad ass!! This story reminds us human trafficking is thriving and needs to be ended.. Give us the movie!
I enjoy these stories. The only part I don't get is all the talk about what these characters are eating. I'm not sure why that's relevant. Besides that, I do enjoy this series.
I just finished reading this wonderful book. I have felt chills, tears, anger, fear, hope and love. I would recommend this book to everyone that enjoys thrillers. It keeps you on edge. I can't imagine what turns peoples hearts so black.
As with all of the books in this series C.M. Sutter did an exceptional job. Even though it was much longer than the ones that proceeded it i very much enjoyed it and can't wait to read more in the series
Loved book #4. Never seems to amaze me . Every book is a no nonsense read. Good to the end. On to book 5. Excited to start it. Read this series people. You will not be sorry.
Very good read the survival of the character and her emotions the none stop action of police, suspects and the survivors was intense at times. The outcome was not what I had expected but not gonna spoil it. Great book now onto next one
