Is a long-distance relationship worth the trouble? And how long can you go before you need to close the distance?
Bri and DeeDee are back. They fell in love in the bright and beautiful backdrop of Miami and dived headfirst into a serious relationship following their own breakups. It’s been beautiful, but it's also been six months since they’ve physically seen each other. And though their feelings have grown stronger, questions about their future loom as DeeDee finally makes her way to Bri in her hometown of Chicago. She still wants the marriage and the whole baby carriage, but DeeDee seems to have other priorities.
When Bri gets untimely news about her ex, she finds herself distracted and emotionally unbalanced. As the honeymoon phase passes and sh*t gets real, she's forced to decide on what she wants out of love and where her heart truly lies.
*Book 1 Recommended, but can be read as a stand-alone
A creative soul, mother of three, wifey, and professional daydreamer, Deja was born and raised in a land of pristine beaches and palm trees called Miami. Her love for all things books started early. At eight, she wrote her first short story on a typewriter her mother gifted her so she’d stop writing on the walls.
Being able to share her stories has always been a dream and today, she writes steamy stories featuring queer and bi-curious women of color in various stages of love and relationships.
She writes strong characters who are unapologetically black, openly discusses trauma and HEAs are not guaranteed.
When she’s not dreaming up alternate universes, she’s hanging out with her little tribe, watching something where the world ends or restaurant hopping.

Excellent!!! I love these characters!!! Deja Elise kept me on the edge of my seat. I was a little disappointed that the editing was not as rigorous as it should have been as there were some spelling and grammatical mistakes which should have been caught. I can’t wait for Parts 3 & 4!
Really enjoyed this. It was well written and I loved that the culture was evident. It was funny and emotional and had my heart racing too. And honestly, it made look internally - something not many books can do. I'm certainly looking forward to the next one.
OMG......This story line just keeps you wanting more of Bri and DeeDee. I seriously didn't want it to end, I'm so sucked in that I can't put the book down. It is so well written and so real it feels like you are among friends, not just a story. I'm headed for book #3
You get to see the main characters work through their issues in real-time. It's like watching a baby learn how to walk for both of them. They fall alot but they keep getting back up and trying. Sometimes that's all you need to do is keep trying. Everything won't always go your way, but don't lose hope. Bri was closer to her dream than she thought.
In this installment Bri becomes an expert in self sabotage but will it work out for her in the end? Stay tuned for Book 3. Honestly another great addition to this series, looking forward to read how this story continues unfold. All the characters are so well developed, they become either friends or enemies in your head.
I really enjoyed this story, getting to know the characters and seeing them navigate their budding relationship. I think they both have some areas to deal with and can’t wait to read more.
I had a feeling that some things were going to behind the scenes and I was so right 🥹 Bri and DeeDee are definitely one of my favorite couples, even if Bri was working my nerves sometimes. Still love her though! 🩷
