Rate this book
To anyone on their flight out of New York, they appear to be five best friends excited for a destination wedding in Miami. No one would guess that each of them has a reason to want the groom dead.

Trevor Vaughn, the groom in question, wooed his bride-to-be by first becoming close with her friends—which is to say that he learned all of the five’s darkest, most dangerous secrets and blackmailed them into convincing Fiona to say “I do.” The friends were forced to convince a doubting Fiona to go through with the wedding, no matter what, and now the charade is set to continue all the way to the altar.

Trevor has his own reasons for wanting to marry into Fiona’s family, and he’ll stop at nothing to make his plan a reality. But when he dies of an apparent allergic reaction at the wedding, surrounded by such close enemies, the possibility of murder isn’t far behind. And for the authorities investigating the case, anyone present could be a suspect...

A suspenseful tale of a deadly destination wedding, It Could Be Anyone is a twisty domestic thriller that will appeal to readers of Liane Moriarty, May Cobb, and Lisa Jewell; its unforgettable characters and unpredictable plot will stay with you long after the last page.

It Could Be Anyone by Jaime Lynn Hendricks

The story starts with Trevor dropping dead at his own wedding, brought down by an allergic reaction. It could not have happened to a more deserving man. Trevor was a skunk, a sleazy, blackmailing bottom feeder, who weaseled his way into marriage to Fiona by holding the secrets of her best friends over their heads. Let the funeral begin!

Once Trevor drops dead, the story goes back and forth between a couple of days before the wedding and further back, to the times when Trevor makes his original threats, with pictures and video, known to each of the friends. This had been a group of seven college friends until Trevor did his dirty work on one of them. That had shown the group that they'd be out if their secrets were known, so now each of them feels they must go along with Trevor's demands.

The only person with a backbone is already gone so we get to watch the friends dig deeper holes. Who'd want friends like this? It's so improbably that all these friends could have such dark and dirty pasts but it seems they were like magnets to each other (or something else was going on) for them to all come together in college, to be glued to each other, well over ten years later. And now all peace of mind is being destroyed by Trevor.

If only the characters were more likeable but they lack so much. Common sense, the decency to tell the truth, the gumption to admit the past and face up to it. But no, lie at all costs and do more dumb things to make things worse, I would never trust any of these people so I guess they deserve each other. So...who killed Trevor?

Wow! What the hell I just read! The book opens at wedding ceremony where the groom shows allergic reaction what he’s recently consumed, dropping dead as his killer is watching it from the front row!

Then we’re introduced five close friends of bride Fiona: mediocre looking kindergarten teacher( I kept thinking why they keep their friendship with her because it seems like they don’t adore her too much)
Let’s briefly tell who they are:

Emma and Ethan dated forever, most romantic couple of the group, expecting their first child.
Dutch, coming from money, buried his head into charity works to compensate his father’s sins.
Veejay; nerdy one, fan of fantasy books, Emma’s bestie who always has her back when she is in deep trouble.
Allie, just divorced from his double aged husband, ultra smart, doing shady business behind the shadows( that character kept my attention and I wished she has her own book.)

When Fiona was rushed to move to Florida after not knowing much about her boyfriend Trevor first class douchebag Vaughn, her friends got a little worried about her insta love decisions.

And dear Trevor pays all of five musketeers visit, blackmailing them with their ugly secrets ( especially angelic Emma surprised me a lot) to come out. He tells them he’s gonna propose and they won’t have any objections unless they want secrets reveal.

The douche’s intention was obvious. He doesn’t adore his soon to be bride but he needs her political connections to change his life into different direction. As a security guard, he knows how to reach CCTVs, hidden cameras and a lot digital sources to feed him with more secrets of others!

Five friends keep terrible secrets which make them terrible humans which also make them good with each other.

I loved whodunnit mystery, short multi POVed chapters, cliffhangers, twists.

I wish I loved the characters a little bit more and I’m so curious about Fiona because when her soon to be husband already shared his past relationship with everyone in the middle of reception but we never see her and Trevor’s confronting ( of course she didn’t know he was related with those photos but at least we can see how they face this situation together)

I still think what all those five people in common with her from the beginning ( instead of Ethan: and I’m surprised he kept her in their inner circle) I found her so clueless and irritating ( can’t she see she’s marrying with a scumbag and if she had this decision to get over with Ethan, it would make her more pathetic! )

I guessed the killer with logical thinking. I knew what all characters could be capable of. So that one was the bolder to take matters into his/her own hands! So I made the right guess and high fived myself!

Overall it was fast and unputdownable, riveting read I devoured in one sit even though it was lack of likable characters!

So I’m giving my four entertaining murder mystery- whodunnit wedding crime stars!

Special thanks to NetGalley and Penzler Publishers for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts.

HAPPY PUBLICATION DAY!

Another destination wedding that ends in murder. Does this one set itself apart?

5 friends of the bride, Fiona, travel from New York to Miami for her wedding. She’s marrying Trevor, and the 5 of them are all a part of the wedding party. The only thing is…none of them can stand Trevor. So why were they rooting for him and convincing Fiona to marry him?

Because Trevor is a snake. He’s been blackmailing each of them, using shameful secrets he’s learned about them. They had to convince Fiona to marry him if they didn’t want their secrets revealed.

No wonder he ended up dead at the wedding. Question is: which one killed him?

This is a fun and fast-paced “thriller”, but may be a bit light on the thrills. I was intrigued by the backstories of everyone and the multiple POVs leading up to, and after, the wedding. It held my interest the entire time.

However, I didn’t find anything to be particularly memorable. The ending could’ve had much more oomph. Those expecting a brilliant twist, like the one in the author’s debut Finding Tessa, won’t find that here. The dialogue was a bit bothersome too…almost robotic. I could imagine Siri or Alexa speaking the words. I’ll be very curious how it comes across on audio.

Overall, I didn’t absolutely love it like I’d hoped…but I definitely enjoyed this entertaining read. I’m looking forward to the next book from Hendricks.

3.5 stars

It Could be Anyone

It’s a GREAT title, but, unfortunately NOT a great story!

The bride, Fiona, was having a few doubts about her whirlwind romance and engagement.

So, the groom, Trevor, digs up dirt (and photos) on her five best friends and blackmails them into give her a little nudge to say “I Do” and walk down the aisle.

Which of them hated him enough to murder him at the wedding? Well, all of them, actually.

Which one is guilty is what you are reading to find out….

Unfortunately though, my mind kept on wandering, and I was having a difficult time keeping the characters straight, which is rarely the case-even with books with larger casts of characters!

I just never became invested in the story and didn’t really care who did it, or what Trevor “had” on any of them.

There was the potential for the ending to be CLEVER or surprising-IF ONLY the author had selected a different character to be the killer-but, unfortunately, the opportunity was missed, and the reveal was underwhelming.

I loved “Finding Tessa”…but this one didn’t measure up.

If you enjoy books with destination weddings and want to see if you can figure out whodunnit-you can pick this one May 31st

Thank You to Scarlet for providing a gifted ARC, in exchange for a candid review!

Apt title as any of the wedding guests could have been the murderer.

My second by the author and I tend to enjoy a deadly destination wedding plot. Sadly, this one was lacking in atmosphere, thrills and pacing. The chapters felt choppy and long winded.

I enjoyed how the author set up a nice charade and some BFF drama. I also enjoyed the guests hidden agendas. They are all hiding secrets and playing along. I thought it might be similar to The Guest List by Lucy Foley, which I loved.

Whenever I want to start skimming, I know I'm losing patience with the narrative. There were too many POV's and the timeline was skipping back and forth. "Who is this character again?" and "What are they hiding?" is what I was getting hung up on. I usually can't wait to find out who the murderer is, but I didn't even care who did it!

It just went on and on and on...

The ending was also a snoozer for me.

Could have…

Would have…

Should have…

We know from the first page that a groom has been murdered on his wedding day. At his reception no less.

Married a mere few hours, Trevor wasn’t able to enjoy much of the celebration before he went down. Then again, Trevor didn’t enjoy much of anything beyond antagonizing those around him.

So, the list of suspects was rather large and all could have, and would have - but who actually did?.

In addition to the mystery, the book presented a character study of wedding party best friends Fiona, Allie, Dev, Dutch, Emma, and Ethan. Currently in their thirties, they’ve been close since college and ALL have damning secrets.

However, they were empathetic despite their misdeeds, so I was lulled into wanting to discover more about them and being concerned for their outcomes.

I was happily entertained by the story, but felt that the ending could have had more punch. A more interesting conclusion existed with an underdeveloped character and would have amped up the drama had that option been taken. So, a middle of the road ending - and your 'Should have'.

It’s Fiona’s wedding and her friends have gathered for this destination wedding. But not all of them. Okay, okay… not a single one of them are happy about it. The problem is they absolutely loathe her fiancé. Perhaps enough to make sure the wedding doesn’t happen? Maybe? You’ll have to start flipping pages to find out!😉

Loved the premise of this book! A true whodunnit! But as the weddings drew closer the massive amount of secrets these friends had kept from each other was just too much. How could they possibly continue calling themselves friends! Really more a book about friends behaving badly.

The ending also seemed to wrap up too quickly leaving me disappointed. Almost felt like an afterthought.

I listened to the audio, and while the narrator did a great job I think multiple narrators would have really elevated the experience.

I’ve now read all the books by this author, so I’ll be (ever so patiently) waiting for her next🤓📖

Like most everyone, I L-O-V-E-D Finding Tessa. Any thriller fans who haven’t read it must check it out! It Could Be Anyone is the second book by Jaime Lynn Hendricks, and I really enjoyed it.

The groom is (possibly) murdered at his destination wedding in Miami. Each of the five best friends in attendance has a motive to kill him. You see, Trevor, the groom, finds his way into the heart of his bride, Fiona, by learning the darkest secret of each of Fiona’s best friends and then blackmailing them into pressuring Fiona to marry him. ACK. Trevor desperately wants to marry Fiona, and he’ll pull all the cards to make that happen.

This one has several narrators and characters to keep straight, which can also keep you guessing as to whom really did it. I’ll admit it took a lot of concentration on my part to keep everyone straight. I thought the pacing was strong, and I was invested in the story. I loved the short chapters and the tension. Finding Tessa is definitely my favorite of the two books, though. Where I thought it was pretty perfect, this one was missing that same spark.

Overall, I think Hendricks has delivered another solid thriller, and I cannot wait for what’s next from her.

I received a gifted copy.

Enjoyable soap opera style popcorn thriller.

Trevor has the dirt on all of Fiona's friends and blackmails them into being supportive of their engagement, participating in their wedding, and talking him up to everyone. When he dies at the wedding reception, which one is responsible?

All of these characters definitely had secrets to hide. I honestly didn't care for any of them, but that was okay, it wasn't really the point. The book is fast paced and engaging, it kept me interested to find out who was ultimately responsible, and in the end, it was kind of a dud reveal. What I was hoping would be the resolution: but alas, 'twas not to be.

Totally worth reading if you want a bit of entertaining suspenseful mystery and you don't want to think too much. I listened to the audiobook and Stacy Glemboski does a great job with the narration.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book, all opinions are my own.

Fiona, Allie, Emma, Ethan, Dutch, and Vee have all been bestfriends since college. Imagine their surprise when Fiona announces she's met a great man in Trevor, they are relocating to Miami, and are engaged and soon to be married. The friends all despise arrogant Trevor and would love to warn Fiona away but Trevor has his own plans to set in motion.

Trevor has managed to find a secret that each best friend is hiding from one another. All the secrets could destroy either themselves or their friendships to one another. The caveat? Talk Trevor up. Tell Fiona what a wonderful guy he is. Praise him and convince Fiona that she's just hit the marital jackpot. What could possibly go wrong?

I was so excited when I saw that Jaime Lynn Hendricks had a new book coming out. I loved her exceptional and twisty debut Finding Tessa and I was eager to see what she would come up with next. Sadly, this did not hold a candle to her debut novel. It didn't even read like it was the same author. This book is the equivalent to that expression: With friends like these, who needs enemies. Boy, oh, boy are these people unlikable but even they can't compete with Trevor who reigns supreme as the King of all Sleazeballs. I don't even mind unlikable but the story has to be clever and the villain has to be one that you love to hate. Neither happened here. Not one thing surprised me in it's reveal. I'm sorry to say that this book is bound to get lost among all the other mediocre psych-thrillers out there. It's totally forgettable to those that do decide to read this and completely skippable for those that don't. 2 stars!

3 destination wedding stars

We find out very early that the groom doesn’t make it through his wedding night in this sophomore novel from Jaime Lynn Hendricks.

We then learn more about Trevor and how he arm-twisted the entire bridal party to endorse his marriage proposal and be part of the wedding. It seems that everyone has secrets, and they are willing to do just about anything to keep them hidden.

Fiona’s tight group of New York friends reluctantly head to Miami for the wedding and festivities. As the secrets and deception pile up, it becomes clear that everyone has a motive for the murder.

This one has an amazing premise but wasn’t executed in an amazing fashion for me. There were a few good twists, but I didn’t find myself invested in the characters and the ending was lackluster for me. I really liked this author’s debut novel, so I went into this one with high hopes. I hope that novel #3 returns to the form of her debut!

Thank you to Penzler Publishers/Scarlet for the opportunity to read and honestly review this one.

Five months ago, when Trevor Vaughn proposed to his girlfriend, Fiona, her five best friends enthusiastically cheered for both the the potential groom and the nuptials. Fiona, however, isn’t quite as sold as her friends seem to be though. The relationship has moved quickly and left her isolated from her friends and family and Fiona isn’t quite sure whether she should be saying yes. But given the rapt attention of both her friends and an entire restaurant, she puts the ring on her finger and begins to plan a wedding. After all, her friends adore him, so that’s saying something, right?

Little does she know, however, that the week before he popped the question, Trevor approached each of Fiona’s friends. Aware of the doubts his fickle girlfriend has been having, he’s decided to put a plan into action by collecting information that the five have all been hiding. Secrets so deep and dark that they’d do anything to keep them hidden. So what’s a man in a tough spot to do? Blackmail will easily solve all of his problems, so he sets out to guarantee that they all reassure and, if need be, convince his darling Fiona to walk down the aisle.

After a rushed yet lavish wedding, Trevor has managed to get exactly what he wanted in blushing bride Fiona. One thing he didn’t quite account for, however, was turning potential friends into enemies. And now that they have lived up to their end of the bargain, one of them decides to ensure that Trevor will never be able to divulge the secrets he’s been holding over their head. So when the groom mysteriously dies from a severe allergic reaction, no one seems the wiser. Was it an accident? Or murder?

Phew. An incredibly fun rollercoaster ride of suspense, It Could Be Anyone had me wishing for a beach just to break out this bad boy because it was made for a lazy day in the sun. Between multiple POVs that presented a 360 degree view and the evil character you’ll absolutely love to hate, this one was easy to love.

But just because this one was a refreshing read doesn’t mean it was without top-notch secrets at its core. Slowly spun out over much of the novel, the gradually building tension was just what the doctor ordered. And don’t get me started on the masterful whodunnit plot. Starting off with a bang as the villainous Trevor falls down dead at his wedding, each POV flowed perfectly into the next, taking me on a well-written and satisfying story arc.

There were, however, just a few hiccups to be found. The biggest being, in my opinion, that all of the characters were hard to connect to and lacked any real personal identities. Especially as each displayed one bad decision after the other with a significant lack of common sense. Speaking of what was missing, I would have loved to had more than one chapter featuring the group’s arch nemesis front and center. After all, such a magnificent snake would’ve been a joy to focus on. Technically, I guess this wasn’t really a flaw, but proof of how well crafted this character was, making me crave for more one on one time with them.

Ultimately, though, this quick, easy read was the perfect remedy for my Saturday and I found myself addicted to reading just one more chapter way too many times. After all, it was an absolutely delicious popcorn thriller, which is a definite love of mine. Now my only problem is deciding which Jaime Lynn Hendricks book to read next. Any recommendations for me, my bookish peeps? Rating of 4 stars.

Scroll down for my possibly plot spoiling trigger warning.

Trevor Vaughn- on the surface looks like a great guy who is enjoying his destination wedding to the woman of his dreams, Fiona. Little does she know that Trevor blackmailed her friends to put in a good word for him and to take part in their wedding.

Groomzilla! But his wedded bliss doesn't last for long when he suddenly dies at his wedding, surrounded by those he blackmailed with their darkest secrets. Was his death an accident or was he murdered? That is up to the police who realize than anyone could be a suspect!

The story bounces around some as the book is told when he dies, to days before the wedding and then after. I found it easy to keep up and follow. What could he have held over their heads?

I found this book to be enjoyable and I was intrigued with what their secrets could be as they did not want them to come out. I kept reading and wondering, but when the secrets did come out, I was a little let down. This is where I expected fireworks but got a flicker instead.

I had high hopes for this one and although I enjoyed it, I didn't love it. I enjoyed Finding Tessa much more but will still be on the lookout for the next book Hendricks writes.

I have mixed feelings about this book and struggled with how to rate it. There were things that thrilled me and things that irritated me. First of all there was an obscene amount of POV’s. I’m talking like at least 8. I understand why it was thought to be necessary, but as the reader I kept having to flip back because I was mixing up characters. Next all these characters had crazy secrets that were entangled together which to me sounded far fetched. I did like the general plot of the book and how it wrapped up in the end.

Trevor wants to propose to Fiona. He invites his friends to brunch and reveals his intentions. He needs them to ensure that Fiona will say yes to his proposal. If they don’t comply or step out of line, he will reveal their deepest, darkest secrets. They reluctantly sacrifice Fiona to save themselves.

This is only part of Trevors plan. His now fiancé Fiona has a very politically connected family and he is determined to weasel his way in. What better way than to marry into the family?

The friends reunite for the wedding. It should be a joyous occasion and they should be celebrating. Instead they are a bundle of nerves. The anticipation is killing them.

It is said that it’s good luck if it rains on your wedding day. However, these dark skies are only a foreshadowing of what is to come. A few of the friends have had enough and decide that they will not let Trevor control them anymore They plan to take him down

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

IT COULD BE ANYONE is such a fun, juicy ride! Jaime Lynn Hendricks' newest release is a classic whodunnit, with a twist. Every character has motive and every character has a past, but someone killed their friend Fiona's new husband Trevor Vaughn on his wedding day. Trevor is no angel by all means, but someone wanted him dead and accomplished just that. But...who is it?

This book starts with a death and then jumps around multiple timelines with all our suspects. I don't want to give too much about this book, but I really enjoyed the secrets oozing out with each chapter. I definitely needed this fast paced thrill ride after reading a fewer slower paced novels. I definitely will be reading more from this author in the future!

3.5 stars rounded up

To anyone on their flight out to New York, they appear to be five best friends excited for a destination wedding in Miami. No one would guess that each of them has a reason to want the groom dead.

How well do you know your closest friends? Well, these friends aren't very likable. There are secrets, lies and scandals in this twisted read. The story is told from multiple points of view. Everyone had a motive for killing Trevor Vaughn and the killer was among the guests. Ethan, Dutch, Veejay, Allie and Emma are all friends of Fiona - the bride. The first part of this story focuses on the character development of each of the five wedding guests and the bride and groom. Part two, and it's the wedding weekend. I was constantly changing my mind to who the killer was. The pace is fast, the length of the book is spot on, and the chapters are short. This is an entertaining whodunit.

Trevor, dear Trevor, what a conniving little rat you are, or should I say "were". Trevor is now DEAD at his very own wedding at the hands of one of his very own "friends" and good riddance!

Ok, so we know from the beginning, that the groom dies at his wedding reception but the fun is finding out the WHO and WHY. The list of suspects is rather large however as they all had a motive to want him dead. We get to hear the POV's of Allie, Emma, Ethan, Dutch and Zee and they all have rather big secrets they wish to stay buried.

This was a quick and enjoyable read. I must admit though that knowing Trevor was dead from the very beginning took away from the overall suspense of the story. I still enjoyed finding out what each character was hiding and who had the biggest motive to kill him. I eagerly await Ms. Hendricks next book.

A big thank you to Penzler Publishers and NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book. 3.5 to 4 stars!

Five friends get on a plane heading to Miami for a destination wedding. They seem like best friends, but there is more to it than that. Trevor Vaughn, the groom-to-be has manipulated his new bride, Fiona, by friending her friends. Then he forced the so-called friends to convince Fiona to marry Trevor. Trevor accomplished this with some horrible blackmailing. When Trevor ends up dead from an apparent allergic reaction, there are plenty of questions to be answered. And there is no shortage of “friends” that wanted him DEAD!

This is my first book by Jaime Lynn Hendricks. For me this was a very enjoyable quick and easy read. It was an interesting take on the typical murder mystery, where everyone has some sort of motive (but who has the most??) My interest was held perfectly until the final reveal! I really enjoyed IT COULD BE ANYONE and I definitely look forward to this author’s future works.

A group of five best friends (two of whom are married to each other) travel to their other BFF’s destination wedding in Florida. The happy occasion is marred by the fact that they are all being blackmailed by the groom. Then the groom dies of an allergic reaction at the reception, and anyone could be guilty of murder.

•-•-•-•

I did not like this book at all, and it’s my own damn fault because I should have known better than to read another stupid fucking destination wedding/frenemies/lovers/secrets and lies and murder book. All of the characters are awful, annoying, self-involved, self-sabotaging assholes, and I wish they’d all just murdered each other in an epic bloodbath on page five.

You NEED to read this book!!! Sometimes I say that a book grabbed me by the face and didn’t let go… This book grabbed my wrists, my throat, my face, and my hair! I can’t remember the last time I read a book in one sitting! I loved how there are little WTF moments dropped like bombs throughout the entire book until the final explosion at the end that I did NOT see coming! This was my most anticipated book of 2022 and I’ve never been so excited to get to read a book! I was nervous that it might not live up to my high expectations but it was even better than I thought it would be! I DEVOURED it in less than 5 hours! I loved some characters and I even loved the characters that I think we are meant to hate in the end. Hey, everyone is flawed, right??? Except Trevor. Oh my gosh I hated that guy. Every single character has a seriously jacked up secret and he is a wretched human being for blackmailing them! But really… is there a secret so bad that would be worth killing him to keep it hidden??? I loooooooved finding out each of the secrets as the dropped like bombs throughout the book! I’m so obsessed with Hendricks’ writing style and I’m already jonesing for her next book! I wish I could get amnesia and forget this entire book so I can read it again for the first time! Squishin' Marshmellow Peeps! 😳😯🤯😳😯

What The Fluffy Baby Bunnies!!? WHAT?! 😳 Hold on! HUH?!?! For all that is coffee and chocolate and major carbs! 😳 Geez almighty Jaime knows how to start a novel off with a big boom! This is an author you NEED to keep your eyes peeled for. She knows what she's doing! Put her up there with all the greats for thrillers because she has it! You'd think she was an old pro at this. I was yanked in, thrown around, spinned around & landed at the end with my world upside down. Jaime kept the hits and bombs coming all along the book barely letting you catch your breath!
Trevor and Fiona have had a destination wedding. And during the reception, Trevor dies.
Back track some months and Trevor had wooed and won over his bride-to-be Fiona with the "help" of her closest friends - Veejay, Emma, Ethan, Allie & Dutch. By "help" I mean blackmailed. Trevor has dark & life changing secrets on each friend. Without a choice, her friends not only had to convince Fiona to marry him but go along with the charade against their better judgement. Anyone and everyone is a suspect. And with five friends all having motive, who could have wanted Trevor dead more?
Now while there was a few different view points through the book, I found it fairly easy to keep up with each character & decipher who was who. & even though the beginning of the book started with the death of Trevor, believe me, that did NOT derail or minimize the thriller & suspense factor in the least! In fact I found it amped this baby up. Jaime has major promise after this being her second book and people, she's got the writers bug! She's easily a queen to thrillers & suspense. More twisted than a chocolate pretzel!

Thank you to NetGalley & Penzler Publishers for this DARC.

➡️READ THIS IF…
✨You like secrets!
✨You have ever disliked a friend’s spouse or fiance!
✨You liked the show Pretty Little Liars.

➡️THOUGHTS:
This book was fabulous! Lots of characters, but it was easy to keep them straight! Fiona is engaged to skeazeball Trevor, and he wants to make sure she goes through with the wedding. He blackmails her closest friends into convincing Fiona he is perfect for her. If they don’t go along with it, their crazy secrets will be revealed!

The start of the book hook me right away! The only chapter told from “the killer’s” pov- Trevor, dead at his own wedding reception. But which of Fiona’s friends are to blame? They all have equal reasons to take him down. The secrets are juicy! The twists keep coming! This book is a win for me!

After reading and loving FINDING TESSA, I knew I had to scoop up this one and it didn’t fail me.

Started out with a bang and kept up its fast pace throughout the entire book. Short chapters and multiple points of view held my interest. Since there was more than one suspect capable of the groom’s murder, I wasn’t able to figure out whodunnit at all. Bravo to Jaime for throwing me off.

I wanted to know more about Trevor (the groom who is murdered) and Fiona (his bride) — their past, background, etc. but did enjoy getting glimpses of everyone else’s history. And, wow, lots of juiciness there!

Highly recommend. A great book for all thriller lovers.

Oh, my…this is the kind of delicious beach read that is just so much fun.

I was seriously having my own homicidal thoughts about dear Trevor. I would not be surprised if someone heard me muttering “kill him” under my breath as I read.

As for our other characters, I loved most of them, though their secrets made me cringe. These were not…simple secrets.

This is a fast paced, enjoyable and extremely satisfying read. I loved this!

3.5 stars rounded up!

I really enjoyed this quick read, it only took me a weekend to get through.

Let me just tell you, there are so many WTF twist moments, you might get whiplash. The last 35% of the book did 'calm down' a little in that department, but it was a fun & quick read for me!
It truly gripped me and I wanted to know what happened, however, I did have to suspend my belief a little, which I thought was reasonable for a book like this. I mean, it was far-fetched to deepen the WTF factor, but going in this book I kind of expected that and therefore didn't mind it.

What are the chances of one group of people having so many messed up and intertwining secrets?
You'll find out! :D

Thank you, NetGalley for the ARC!
