Dani Danica Lynn Jepson is a failure. That’s right, I said it. I had my shot at life, and I failed. My fame is gone, my money is gone, and the stutter that I spent years in speech therapy trying to control is rearing its ugly head. I think my parents still like me, maybe my best friend, and sometimes my dog, but that’s it. One thing’s for sure; my sexy new neighbor can’t stand me. It’s fine, though, because he’s a jerk and the feeling is mutual.
Connor Princess Dani is a brat. She and her pretty blonde hair and mind-numbing ass can just go back to wherever they came from. I don’t need her all up in my space, making me think about things I shouldn’t be thinking about. It’s my fault that I lost the love of my life two years ago, and I plan on living in my self-assigned purgatory for the next forever. And just so we’re clear, if I ever did decide to move on, it wouldn’t be with Dani.

I love books that I can relate to. I have a stutter... always have... it’s not very prominent but it still tears it’s ugly head. Anyway, this book is so real and that’s why I loved it.
Dani is a former child actress who persevered despite her stutter. Years later she finds herself having to change her lifestyle when her royalties run out. Finding a new apartment with a hot neighbor is what she didn’t know she needed... too bad he’s a jerk.
Connor is a widow living in a world of guilt. After losing his wife he shut himself off from everyone but his family. When his princess of a new neighbor moves in he realizes that maybe his heart is still there.
These two fought so hard to stay enemies that at times I wanted to shake them. But the bond that they forged helping Connor’s nephew made it all worth it. This story is a great reminder that “There is no first place or second place. There is no shadow. There’s just time...”
Let me start by saying I didn't like Danica until the future rockstar of Connor's family showed up in the story. I'm sure people could say she is a freaking brat, and she is at times, but she has a heart, you just need to read long enough to see it.
Now, Connor is a class A jerk, hands down and no questions asked. That being said, I connected with him faster and stronger than with Dani. I saw his soft side and little details of goodness about him before I even considered hers.
Why I gave this book 5 stars?
Considering my previous words, I understand your confusion. Let me explain myself here.
I knew Danica was going to be a brat. I knew Connor was going to be a jerk. It's in the title and in the blurb. I knew what I was getting into when I picked this book, downloaded it through KU, and read it.
The book was done in a great way. It made me keep reading chapter after chapter. It didn't hurt that it was sexy, and it won my heart. Now, if that little future rockstar wasn't there, I don't know what would have happened to me LOL
"Whatever, Jerk" is a romance with steamy scenes and lovable characters. I will recommend this story to those that love contemporary romance with a brat and a jerk as main characters.
This book was so much fun to read. The story progresses amazingly. We get the full story behind BOTH characters and their romance is fantastic. There is a lot of cursing which at times didn’t seem necessary but I can overlook because of the plot and all. I loved how Dani and Conner found themselves, became better people and were just amazing in every way together. I loved the involvement of their friends and family who help them so many times. I liked the playful banter that was shared between them and the adorable way that they confessed their love for each other. Even the epilogue is a lot of fun. I look forwards to whatever comes next.

This was an funny story, with 2 people that are attracted with each other. By their encounters, you don’t see that. Becouse the past is in the way.... Will they overcame this? Will they build a future together? Find out!
I like the ideea of describing the life of people with stutter. They have to overcome a lot, and need a lot of encouragement to improve their self esteem. By the way, I have a coleague with stutter (sometimes is better, sometime worse) - but is a soft developer and one of the most inteligent people that I know!

This was quite the fun story! I admit I wasn't wild about either character in the beginning as Dani is quite the Drama Queen and Connor seemed to be a jerk. However, they both grew on me as the story progressed and you start to see the other sides of them, and why they are the way they are. There were quite a few moments where I felt my heart constrict as some parts of the novel was quite sad and heartbreaking. Overall, this was a very entertaining and enjoyable romance

I am loving these books. I loved the first person point of view, of the story, which is a deal breaker for me. Dani and Connor were great characters and this was a funny story. I loved Connor because for me the hero makes or breakes the story and this one is a must read.

4.5 stars, I would have given it 5 but Amy Connor's sister who was knowingly pregnant during the storyline was now "hugely pregnant" in the epilogue, 8 months later. Ugh someone should have caught that.
