I honestly did not finish this because it was so hard to get through. The characters are 20+ year olds but their dialogues sound like they’re in their early teens. How do you have a 20+ year old who supposedly works as a best-selling author but acts like a 15 year old? I get the immaturity of the h because she’s been out in the streets with no education with her basic needs barely met. But everyone else is just so immature. And the plot just drags. I was reading 3 chapters and the H & h are in the same boat making the same scene with different settings. It has a lot of potential but it needs to be re-edited.
Its a beautiful book. The story is well thought after and mostly about how a girl is adjusting to being rescued from being a poor homeless. Even when she was surrounded by materialistic things she values the emotional support most. The only downside is that I can't understand if the story is in a cliffhanger or if its just it. The story is brought out slowly organically and well edited. This book is also interwoven with lots of smaller characters and what happens in their life too.
Loved this book, please bring out the sequel soon.
There are so many flaws in this book. The writing is rushed and the characters aren’t well written, they made every mistake you can think of. I think the idea of the book was one of those when the poor homeless girl meets the rich boy and her life transforms into one of fairytales as they both fall in love. I didn't finish it, I tried to give it a chance and see if the plot will improve but it was predictable and the story fell flat. It's not all bad tho, some paragraphs were great and the backstories of some characters seemed to be thought through. I guess this book is just not for me.
Honestly this has been sitting on my shelf for a while, and I am so mad I didn’t pick it up sooner. I devoured this book in just a few hours and was devastated when it ended on a cliffhanger. This book was so good I honestly can’t believe it’s the authors first book, I am definitely going to be following closely for more books from her 10 out of 10.
AMAZING! The emotions that you feel with EVERY character is unlike the other books I've read. Solveig took time making it so you could connect with everyone, making this book absolutely a pleasure to read (and re-read) and I am EAGERLY awaiting the sequel!!!
This book had me crying like a baby. I just saw the The End... And I'm still crying.. I felt both of their pain, deep in my heart. I felt broken and alone after their final goodbye. I'm hoping that there will be a second book. Now, I'm just hoping for a HEA...
Debut book by this author and I look forward to reading the next book. I am hoping there is one as the ending was quite abrupt. The story brought forth multiple emotions. I was drawn in and read it surging 24 hours! A wonderful “found-family” story.
**My concern: the editing of this book was not great. I did the kindle version and found it frustrating that there were a large number of grammatical errors, missing words, wrong tense throughout the entire book.
I am so glad I read this book. The way layla was forced into being homeless and trying to fight for her life everyday. How she found Spencer and was so happy. Even though she didn't feel like she belonged in his world. Layla couldn't figure out her place. I'm sad the book ended up being a cliffhanger. I want to know how she made out in London and if she ever found her place.
This book was an absolute tear jerker!! I loved it! I picked up a physical copy from the beautiful author herself this weekend and I COULD NOT put it down all weekend. I cried so many times and I just wanted to thank Solveig for telling me this book is the first in the series. I absolutely am in love with the characters and cannot wait for book 2!!!
Believe that the story ended the way it did. It's killing me inside. I'm going to say this much her writing, while slow to move at some points, was bang on. This was a wonderful story.
This book… My lord… The feels… I read it about a year ago. And I’ve been patiently waiting for book two, but book one seems to have been pulled? Is there any news on this?
Omg! This book is so freaking sad. It’s definitely a moving story but how come there is no HEA!?
I can’t for the life of me understand what’s the freaking point in the whole story if there is no HEA!
Also why does Jim show up and nothing happens with Sam?
Does Catherine die? Does Layla come back? Does Marcus get away with everything? I have tons omg questions and I need another installment. This ending is not fair and definitely not for the faint of heart!

I am not a fan of romantic books but this book is actually good.
Simple but wonderful romantic and sentimental that moves you deeply.
Lay surely the last girl anyone want to engage in the real world however miracles happen and I really like spencer family, It is so hard to find people like them in these days specially Catherine.
I really got into the plot of this book...and cried many times at the emotional descriptions... Such a good book...I haven't checked to see if there is a sequel but will have sadly been left hanging if there isnt.
