A hot single dad.
A young workaholic.
One drunken hookup at a bar as strangers…
Until
He moves in next door.
Thomas will do anything for his daughters. That includes the hard work of rebuilding their lives after his wife’s tragic death a year ago. But unrelenting grief and fear of suffering another loss keeps him from moving forward and embracing the possibility of love again.
Jennifer takes nothing for granted. She knows to get ahead at work; she has to work harder than everyone else and remain focused. Focusing would be a lot easier if Thomas wasn’t so irresistible, and her overprotective father wasn’t so disapproving of the romance.
With his heart and his daughters’ well-being at the forefront of his mind, will Thomas deny himself the opportunity to love again, or will he follow his heart and see where it leads?
Sharon Woods writes spicy, feel-good contemporary romance novels. Based in Melbourne, Australia, with her husband and two children. She drinks a lot of coffee, loves to workout, explore new places, and has an unhealthy addiction to reality TV.
Age gap. Widower with two small children. Meets young ladies at a bar. Then later meets her again. When he moves house and she is his neighbour. She also works at the nursery, where his 2 years old starts at. Nice enough story, but it just felt like something was missing. Some parts were a good read, other parts were a bit flat.
i so very much enjoyed this story Jennifer is on a night out its her best friend Olivia 21st birthday she meets a man at the bar and is very attracted to him there is chemistry ,they have a dance and she cant see Olivia so she goes looking for her she is very drunk and throwing up in toilet , she never sees him again that night . Thomas is bringing up his 2 daughters Rose and Lily he decides its time to move on fresh start new job new house , the day comes that Thomas moves Jenifer is woken up buy noise outside and decides to go for a jog . on the way back near her drive she trips over a child s toy and when she looks up she sees the man who she meet in the bar she so in shock the man of her dreams . the next day he takes his daughter Rose to the children s day care school and its Jennifer that shows them around and then she starts looking after the two girls every Wednesday this book will give you the giggles in places and tears will they get a happy ending ,
After careful consideration and a lengthy discussion with my best friend, I have decided to lower the rating from 3 to 2 stars, and here are the reasons why. Probably contain spoilers and profanity. . . . Names: Tom (Thomas) and Jen (Jennifer) Daughters: Lily and Rose Dead wife: Victoria
The first 50% of the book was a snoozefest. Literally, nothing happens. I should have known that with names like Tom and Jen #sorrynotsorry. The break up comes after a family dinner where her parents disapprove of their relationship, which triggers him into saying that she is young and should be out there partying and enjoying life, not settling down with a family. Their age difference, you ask? She's 22, and he's in his 30s. A bit silly, but alright. So, they both struggle. Finally, he realises that he needs to communicate like an adult. *ehem ehem* So he goes to her new place and tells her about his reasons for not continuing the relationship and not wanting any more children. NO GROVEL AT ALL. And she just takes him back and they have sex. Note 1: the sex is boring, it's always wet, and he calls her princess Note 2: the two epilogues are just the final nails Epilogue 1 is 6 months later when he graciously agrees to have more kids with her And the second epilogue is 2 years later when he asks her to marry him
This book is a quick read book with a few steamy scenes and a lot of sweet and emotional scenes. I have to give this book a Serrano Pepper on the pepper scale, this book has explicit scenes but not to the point that my panties were melting, just enough to warm my blood and get me a little flustered.
The age gap in this book does play a significant role in this story. I enjoyed this book but felt like it was missing something, the problem is I can't put my finger on what it is. But this is the reason for the 4 out of 5 stars instead of 5 out of 5. I do believe that this is book that a lot of people would enjoy, but there are some things that might touch on triggers. There is loss and grief issues.
I hope this helps you find your next Tantalizing Tome!

The single dad romance. Jennifer is out at The Boilermaker House celebration her best friend Olivia's 21st birthday , this older successful sexy man by the name of Thomas (Tom) they get chatting but as she get distracted looking for Olivia and she doesn't get back to him. Jennifer lives at home with her parents and her younger sister and loves her job at The Springside Childcare Centre, and when they get new neighbor's moving in a guy with his two young daughter's Jennifer is introduced by her to dad to the hot older guy she met that night, does he recognise her? did she kiss someone's husband? she is still feeling that chemistry from that night and so is Tom. He turns up at the toddlers room on the monday morning for a tour for his two years old Rose so there's not a chance they can avoid each other, where is this romance going to lead. And overtime Jennifer learns a lot more about Tom can the romance survive? I loved this book its sharp ,witty, funny, emotional, and above all, the chemistry between the couple is wonderful to read. A beautiful story for the romantic readers out there.
The words use and overall review shouldn’t reflect personally on the author or any other of her series and books.
3.5 Stars This was a very chill and fun book. The little girls were adorable. The romance plot was something I needed after reading to many dark romance books. This book started with a surprise meeting in a unexpected place. After the story develop from neighborly hellos and babysitting days to a romance that was very breathtaking. If you need a refreshing cute romance this one is for you. ooh it had its steamy moments so don't think this is vanilla.
This is the first book I've read by the author and I enjoyed it. I liked the premise of the story of Thomas and Jennifer. But I'm not really sure about the MCs. There's just something weird with how the author wrote their characters. But I really loved Tom's girls, Lily and Rose. And I loved Jen's relationship with them. The ending was quite abrupt though. I would have loved more after they get back together.
Its so good! It was recommended by BookTok. I love the fact that it has a little bit of smut but not the ones that drags on for pages and pages. Its quick, just to feed your imagination and continue with the story.
I really enjoyed this story. I fell in love with the writing style of this author, it was so well written and flowed perfectly. The story was a quick read and grabbed my attention from page one until the very end. I felt like I was right there with the characters living their lives and I felt the connection between Jennifer and Thomas.
I loved Jennifer’s desire for Thomas. Poor Thomas, I felt so much for him. He was so swoon worthy. I loved his determination to move forward with his life. Jennifer goes on a night out with her friend to celebrate her friends’ birthday and after she met Thomas. She realized the attraction and could not fight it. A few days later she runs into her new neighbor and his girls, they are dealing with a lot after losing his wife to a tragedy.
This is a lovely easy read romance, which I highly recommend. I am looking forward to reading more stories by Sharon Woods, I cannot wait to see what she comes up with.
It just lacked depth, I actually can’t remember anything about the book to be fair. I couldn’t connect to the characters or be bothered reading between every single line, I kinda of just skipped through towards the end.
There were some good parts, I didn’t entirely dislike it and I did finish it. The hero was a dick and the grovelling wasn’t there at aaaaall. Spice was a 1/5 for me.
For me, this is unfortunately a no. DNF at around around 50%. I didn't feel any chemistry between Jen and Tom (also I hate the names). The only thing I can tell you is that they are both nice. Kind. That's it. I also didn't love the style it was written in. I'm not sure what but something about it irritated me. Overall it seems like a nice read if you're into this very mild kind of romance, there is some lingering and cute scenes but it just wasn't for me.
Navigating through tough situations is hard enough to deal with it in real life. It is even harder to put those feelings, conundrums, and painful choices into words.
Sharon Woods has beautifully done so with her latest release Accidental Neighbor.
Thomas is a widower, grappling with the very sudden fact that he would have to raise two very young daughters by himself while navigating through his grief.
Jen works at a local daycare and is struggling to find herself. She doesn't quite feel at ease among her friends who are still in constant party mode, and while her parents are kind and loving, her dad especially can sometimes forget that Jen is an adult.
Thomas had recently moved next door to Jen, hoping that a new home would lessen the ongoing heartache for him and his kids. The two run into each other and realize that they had instantly connected while at a bar a couple of months ago.
The rest of the book takes us through the struggle of finding love again after a traumatic loss. I love that Woods was so sensitive about balancing Thomas' need to feel after numbing himself for so long with his fear of giving his heart to someone again.
I also appreciate that while the girls are so young, they too were trying to sort through their own version of grief.
While I liked the overall story and being on the journey with Thomas and Jen, I did struggle at times with loose ends and too much background, so I skimmed through a few pages.
**I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.**
Single dad romance who has a heart of gold and tragic accident that took away the love of his life. BUT we learn that there is more to the story and it broke my heart because we learn why he thinks a certain away...no spoliers This is a age gap romance and I love how fate put them back together. They meet before in a night clube and now they are neighbours
Thomas is the dad to, two brilliant girls Rose & Lily. Rose is going through a hard time she wants to be hold alot and Lily has nightmares, this happened since their mam deaths. He is a good father (gives me hope not all single dad's are assholes, past dating experiences) and thanks to Jennifer connections she helps them find the right doctor.
Jennifer is a a very mature 22 years old and she works in child care. She is a very caring and I love it when she put her dad in his place, when her dad disagree with their relationship. It just shows me how mature she is and that Thomas has found the right women.
This story is about a second chance to live again for Thomas & his girls. Jennifer finally found her family home. Both characters have amazing families but now they have their own family now. I hope they have a child one day and I was gutted it didn't end that way. BUT I do love the ending...
I just love some good, unproblematic and adorable love woth no drama and this SHIT WAS SO HEARTWARMING. I think I absolutely fell in love with Jen. She’s like a light sunshine, so positive and ambitious. All I want to do is fucking hug her and never let go, because this girl… she’s just everything. I loved how accepting she was with Thomas and his kids. She was direct about her feelings with Thomas for the whole time and it was a refreshing thing to see a couple be so understanding and good communicating with each other. The little girls completely stole my heart and I don’t want it back. They were so sweet and polite. I’d do anything to have kids like them. Thomas is a great dad and a great partner. But along the way when dating Jen I think he lost himself and needed time to figure out everything on his own and how to be a better person for himself, the girls and Jen. He is so caring and his little touches and kisses with Jen made me feel all giggly. They’re both perfect for each other and I don’t think their story could be any more good. I think I’ll be reading more of the author’s books from now on😏
Jennifer and Thomas are made for each other. The age difference is not an issue.
Thomas is a single dad to two little girls. His wife died in a tragic accident one year ago. He still blames himself. His girls are his first priority. So looking for love is not in the cards. Til he finds out who his neighbor is. Jennifer works hard and wants to her ahead at work. She loves working with children. Looking for love is not her main priority right now. Til she meets a sexy stranger at the bar one night. One dance has her all hot and bothered. She never seen him again. That was until she meets her new neighbor. Will Thomas let Jennifer into his life and his girls lifes? Can Thomas and Jennifer have a future together?
This is my first book by Sharon Woods and I loved it. It was a sweet romance with such emotions, that you can feel it come off of the pages. I recommend you read this book.
I love single parent romance books! Especially when it’s a dad with daughters. It’s just so soft and cute! It has an Afro gap, forced proximity, Jen knowing what she wants and not letting anyone decide for her. Her relationship with rose is so sweet and Lily as well. I liked that he wasn’t into the whole hookup thing which was a nice change. Of course like all men, they think they know everything so I wanted to smack him in the head with a newspaper in the conflict but I’m glad they got their happy ending. It’s sweet, steamy, a tonal and I’m actually hoping there’s more in this world? Like ava? Perhaps? Crumbs of tom and jen? I’m here for it
I really enjoyed this single dad romance. It was really well written and and pulled you in from the very first page.
Jennifer is out celebrating her friends birthday when she meets Thomas after a dance and a first kiss and due to circumstances out of her control she ends up leaving the club and Thomas is just a memory. That is until she meets her new neighbour. Thomas is a widower and definitely not looking to start a new relationship his two young daughters are his priority but there's just something about Jen that opens him up to all these feelings her never thought he'd feel again. Its not going to be easy but will Thomas allow Jennifer to help him feel again and will they get their hea.
A beautiful story that definitely brought a tear to my eye, and I can highly recommend.
What do you get when you have a hottie dad with two adorable little girls, one sweet single dad romance!! I really enjoyed Jennifer and Thomas's story. Thomas is looking for a fresh start to hopefully move on. With a new job and new house him and his girls were ready, but who knew his new neighbor was going to be the girl he couldn't stop thinking about. Jennifer is ready for more challenges at work and to move up in her career. Settling down or finding that special someone was not her priority, but when she meets a handsome guy at the bar things certainly take a turn in her life. These two gave me some swoon worthy moments and had me in tears at times. Accidental Neighbor is about second chances and starting new and I was so glad to read their HEA!
This book had me at single dad romance. It's so hard for me to pass one up. This one pulled all the emotions out of me. Thomas and his girls' backstory just broke my heart. You could feel the pain rolling off the pages especially with Thomas. I'm not gonna lie it took me a bit to connect with the characters, but soon I was gobbling up the pages. Thomas' little girls were so cute and I loved the bond they created with Jennifer. Jennifer is a bit younger Thomas, but she knows her own mind about who she wants. Jennifer has a big heart and exactly who this healing family needs. This was a great story that pulled on the heartstrings.
I loved this age gap trope. It was a love story that was so sweet. Thomas the widower dad is in pain but is moving on for his daughters sake. One night out with his friends and new co workers his heart got a quick reset. He was smitten from the moment he laid eyes on Jennifer. Jennifer a hard working teacher has patience as a saint and so much love and understanding. This was a lovely romance story of two people made for each other after hardships.
In Accidental Neighbor we get to know Thomas and his two daughters and his backstory and we also meet he much younger next door neighbor. It was also a fun story but its more of the hot teacher of his kids romance with a HUGE age gap and a second chance for love for Thomas.
I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I kinda liked the story premise, it was a age gap, neighbor romance, forbidden romance type of story. It had a good feel and I really loved the girls Lily and Rose. As I read I found there was just something missing for me. I would recommend if this is your type of story , was written very well.
I really enjoyed this single dad romance. Loved the way he met Jen and how they connected. I was a little disappointed that she lived at home and had to have her life under a microscope.
I was glad there was an epilogue that wrapped up the story.
