Hezekiah fell from grace and lives his life on earth as an ambiguous (half angel, half demon.) He finds himself in the middle of a war between Lucifer and Hades to bring back the blue dagger to Jerusalem, and restore the balance between the pure (good) and the damned (evil). In the midst of this, he falls in love with Feyrah, a fairy nymph, whose colony is destroyed by the very evil Hezekiah is trying to obliterate. When he has to save her and the blue dagger, he has to make a choice that will effect the entire world.
This book was so good. If you are into demons, angles, faeries, and other mythical creatures then I suggest you read this. And the fact that they were black made it that much better. The cover itself drew me in but I fell in love with Hezekiah. I'll take his good and bad side. I'm going straight to part 2 cause I need to know what happens next.
Yea this book was not for me. If you want spice and spice alone then go for it. This book has no real plot, no world building, no character development. Like boom it’s sex and pretty much that’s it. Like is everyone some type of paranormal/creature? Like Joe seemed surprised about the disappearing act but then Hezekiah said it was an illusion and all was right in the world. Feyrah’s mom is always having sex but she’s never seen a naked man before? People have to give her head every time she heals somebody? Feyrah was untouched for two hundred years and then had sex the first day she met Hezekiah and she’s a pro? Okay. She sucked him off after they did anal? Gross. Then they did all that and the sister didn’t wake up? What was the point of keeping Feyrah’s siblings hostage? How did they go into the mountains if they didn’t give up one of their sides, didn’t get invited or was with someone? They have illuminating powers but need flashlights? Since they have pure magic in them they wouldn’t be allowed in, it just wouldn’t go away. There was no indication that Feyrah was under the influence with Monroe. Her virgin hole? Where? Because they definitely did anal in Phase 11. Everybody else’s powers came back but Hezekiah’s pure power is gone. The book just made no sense as nothing was explained. The plot twist was so obvious.
A lot of misspelled words. The simple tense of some the sentences were wrong. Missing spaces. Missing words in sentences. This just could’ve been written so much better. “We used our half and half powers.” The author could’ve said hybrid powers and the sentence would’ve flowed better. Don’t know why each chapter was considered a phase.
This was a fun, sexy, and quick read. It's nice to see black characters in this settling. Angels, demons, and other mystical creatures are always my cup of tea. A few things happening in this book make me laugh out loud. The plot on the story was a little lost to me and a tad confusing, but maybe that just me. I'd like to try more works from this author in the future.
This book has me shook, still! This is not one of those fantasy reads where you will be bored & confused trying to follow the story, this book grabs your attention from page 1 & NEVER LETS GO🗣.
& the smut, the filth in this book, I can almost guarantee you haven’t read anything like it. Hezekiah & Feyrah’s chemistry is lighting the pages of fire🥵. I won’t say too much because I can’t spoil this story but Hezekiah is definitely on his demon time & you should definitely read this to find out what I mean. I enjoyed the author’s writing style, the pacing, & all the many elements in this plot (trying to stay spoiler free🙈).
Other notes: Book two is on my immediate TBR Why is Hezekiah so fine? Why is Feyrah so fine?
Seeing an author take on well known tropes and give them a fresh take is nice. From a personal standpoint I would have enjoyed getting to know the character's backstories a bit more. The cover art is gorgeous and drew my interest before I even read the book.
I'm hoping that the sequel fills in a bit more of the origin stories to explain the powers and abilities of each species and class.
I'm a fan of more so more in-depth exploration during the sex scenes would make me happy.
I loved seeing Black angels, demons, faeries, and witches. We don't get that often.
Hezekiah came out the gates swinging. The man is filthy and I loved it. He stands at 7'4" and all muscle. He never hesitates to tell it like it is, no matter who is involved. When he came right out and told Lucifer that he slept with Ivy, I knew he was the truth.
The only person who could handle a man like Hezekiah long term is my girl Feyrah. She gives as good as she gets and she keeps him on his toes. They have the perfect balance between them.
The sex in this book is nastyyyyyy. Hezekiah plays no games. Downright disrespectful in the best way.
I'm mad I waited so long to read this but at the same time I'm glad because I get to go right into book 2. I can't believe Hezekiah left Feyrah hanging like that and I need to know what happens next.
Go read this book.

Demon Time grabbed my attention immediately. Homeboy banging his stick on page 3. Book was steamy, action packed, and didn’t include a bunch of frills despite a complicated plot line. It got the job done in as little pages (under 200) and I am here for it. In and out. There were a few typos, but nothing major to keep you from enjoying the story. The plot line of fallen angels and nymphs and faeries was interesting and I liked the Greek and biblical names. Characters were fun, sexy, and black. And real black, not watered down to appeal to the masses; I appreciate that. I loved the attention to his locs, the appreciation for curves, and she had braids. The language was real, like I would speak at home; I loved that about the book. This book is entertaining, refreshing, and executed beautifully. Definitely read the next book. Check out my review on YouTube.
I enjoy my fair share of supernatural fiction, but this was the chef’s kiss right here. The story was engaging, the characters were wonderful to follow, and I couldn’t get enough of Hezekiah and Feyrah! They’re chemistry was hotter than H*ll and the way I was left at the end of this book made me immediately start the second. 10 out of 10 would recommend!
I am so happy to read a sci-fi fantasy romance that has a black leads. That is also written from a black perspective. I love the characters. I love the story line and I am Ridiculously excited about how the story is going to continue. Going to highly highly highly recommended that everybody read this series.
I really enjoyed this book of angels, demons, and faeries. The ending made me sad but left such a cliffhanger that I've got to see what happened in book 2. Caught a few misspelled words closer to the beginning of the book but not enough to make me stop reading. Definitely recommend this paranormal romance and ML Sexton.
This title fits this story perfectly. I’m talking from page one these characters suck you in with their antics! The paranormal aspects were so well thought out and detailed. I loved every word of this story.
I love a hood in depth book and that’s the only reason why this ain’t getting 5 stars… stretching things out would’ve definitely had me in my emotions. Now i’m off to read book 2.
I am obsessed....all the fantasy goodness but with black leads!!!! This is what I was needing in my life, the plot, the characters, the drama, the sexy times it is EVERYTING!!! Definitely will be reading book 2 shortly!
Sheesh I'm speechless this book had the perfect amount of everything love pain violence pleasure spice. I definitely recommend this book to everyone with me being new to the fantasy world I love that I gave this one a chance I was not disappointed
This book was so freaking good. I really don't have the words to describe this book. This was my first adult fantasy. Moniqua's imagery in this book is top notch. I have never been more interested in learning about Lucifer, Hades, and relationship with God as fallen angels. So the back story is intriguing. Then you have Fae, Fairies, Nymphs, magic and omg the spice. There is this one scene that lives rent free and if I had that ability ooo wee Hubby would be in trouble. Hezikiah was confident yet humble and it was sexy. Just read this ok.
