Words escape me, The final book in the Guardian Hostage series and honestly I'm reeling and at a loss for words that even begin to say what I think of this book. All the old cliches of OMG, Brilliant, Page Turner of note, etc don't come anywhere close enough to describe this book. Ellie has completly knocked this not just out of the park but out of this world. It's a real masterpiece (pun intended lol) to bring this series to a mind blowing conclusion.
Rescuing Maria is different from the rest of series only in as much that Maria was not taken in the same way, yet she is also a victim. A victim of who her parents were, a victim of being protected from her families crimes although some would say thats more naivety than being a victim. Yet she is the Guardians key to them finally bringing down the trafficking ring.
Everything happens over the course of 3 days, starting when her best friend disappears. Then the moment that Maria and Liam meet is pretty explosive, with Maria believing Liam is the bad guy. Now, Maria is subjected to some hard home truths about her family and agrees to Liam being her fake boyfriend in order to uncover the truth and bring the real villians to justice. But there's nothing fake about the sizzling chemistry between them which is evident right from the first page.
Rescuing Maria is very intense and packed full of action, which gave me some real down to earth belly laughs, had me reaching for huge blocks of ice (needed to cool down it gets hotttt), made me furiously angry and kept me on the edge of my seat. Without a shadow of a doubt, the finale left me speechless !! I didn't see that coming until very very close to the end. Roll on reading about Bravo team

I just can't imagine how each book in the Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists series could be more intense that the previous, but Rescuing Maria tops them all. I knew in my heart of hearts that this story would end well. No one of importance would die, but as I was reading the story and feeling caged in (my claustrophobia kicked in big time), I just knew that Liam was going to lose his life, doing his job. That feeling was so unsettling to me, but I could figure no way out. And I didn't want Maria hurt, any more than she already was. How could she make it out alive if Liam couldn't protect her? My mind was reeling.

This Guardian series has been amazing. Each story gets a hold of you and doesn't let go.
Maria is loyal to her best friend Sybil. They are inseparable, especially since they met while in their teens. When something goes wrong, Maria doesn't stop until she gets answers. She isn't just a pretty face with mesmerizing eyes, but also very well trained to defend the enemy.
Liam is out doing the mission and 'BAM' he comes face to face with Maria. As their story unfolds, the chemistry is amazing. When put into questionable situations, Liam is amazed how well Maria goes with the flow and isn't backing down when things might seem threatening.
Ellie, once again, produced another blockbuster book. A definite must-read to stay up on how all these Guardians continue their mission to help stop the trafficking madness.

Love the overlapping start!!
The end of the last book was the start of this book, but with a different, fabulous perspective.
Maria is a “mafia princess”, well educated and CEO of the family hotel. Her best friend is Sybil - whose family owns a hotel in Hawaii. When Sybil goes missing Maria uses all her smarts to ultimately find the Guardians rescuing some kidnapped women from her hotel. The only way to get away “clean” is to bring Maria with them.
Once Maria is convinced they are the “good guys”, Liam returns at her side as a surprise fiance. Liam also stands up to her “mommy dearest” who completely disrespects her. Maria has never had anyone do that for her. Suddenly neither is faking.
Tense, action filled, and totally romantic.

This is the last story for the Alpha team of the Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists. This book was well worth the wait! Liam and Maria meet by chance, when she follows him and his team. After some discussion, it's decided they should go "undercover" as a couple. It doesn't take long for them to fall for each other. Alot of questions are answered and shocking things are revealed. Fasten your seatbelts and hang on for the wild ride this story takes you on. Liam and Maria have a great many things to get through to get the HEA they deserve. Sorry, no spoilers. I received this ARC and here is my honest review.

OMG -- as the final Guardian story --- it does not disappoint. Not only are Liam and Maria the best together --- we get answers to the underlying story that started in the first Guardian story which I've been on the edge of my seat waiting for!!! YIPPEEEEE
Liam and Maria's story is excellent. I dislike where things drag out between the characters --- this goes for zero to 100 in no time at all. I love that. No wasting time. They are perfect for each other and neither dilly dallies around admitting to the attraction between them.
Then there is the underlying story --- we get introduced to some far out tech stuff. YES!!! and we get to see all the others from the previous Guardian stories --- always nice to catch up with the others a little bit.

An amazing story for the final book in the Alpha series! It grabs your interest right in the beginning and just keeps going strong to the end. The mystery, suspense, action, Misty Magic, and the real life emotions between the characters are awesome! I could just picture it all happening as I read. The unfolding of all the people and their previous crimes in previous books are revealed and stopped. Liam and Maria make a beautiful couple and are so well suited in their characters! As a whole, this is a fantastic book and one that I highly recommend reading!!

I'd been looking forward to Maria and Liam's story since Sybil Protector. Maria initially is suspicious of Liam and the Guardians, but when she hears the whole story she is more than willing to work with them and get Liam the access to her uncle. As they grown close she continues to find out more and more awful things about her family until the thrilling and unbelievable conclusion. All our questions from the first book in the series are answered and I'm looking forward to the next series and the Bravo guys.

I say this every time I get an Ellie Masters book in my hands but I can’t put them down. This is the final Book in the Aloha team series and I am so sad to see the end . This story is full of love and betrayal and hot as hell sex. Liam is the last man single and once he meets Maria he’s a goner also. Maria loves Sybil and her unending loyalty strikes Liam straight through the heart. This book is full of twists and horror . If you haven’t read the series do so if you have then make sure you get this book asap.

The Guardians are still dealing with the trafficking of woment. Maria might be the CEO of the pleasure boat/casino, but she's about to find out a lot of secrets of her family and what they are doing. Liam is the last single Guardian and is with 3 others to go to the casino and find the kidnapped women. Plenty of action, heat, and secrets abound. HEA.

Buckle up kids, here we go... This is the book where we find out the "WHO" behind the latest string of abductions.
To begin, this is the 6th in this series and if you've read any of my other reviews you will know that I will tell you that to get the most out of the story you will want to start with book 1. That said there's enough backstory listed that you get the gist of what is happening but if you really want to get into the story there's so much more!!
Rescuing Maria picks up where we left off with Rescuing Sybil. Maria Rossi is looking for her best friend Sybil and confronts with Guardians with a gun to get answers. Guardian Liam is on the receiving end of the barrel of her weapon but is able to disarm her before she can shoot. In the process he pulls her - literally - into the middle of his mission. When the Guardians realize who she is an opportunity is created and Liam and Maria go from adversaries to working together to get answers.
Maria has suspected that there is more to her family business but has been shielded her whole life. Following the death of her father she takes over the Belvedere Hotel in New Orleans which is the site of Liam's latest rescue mission. As she is first interrogated and questioned then brought into the fold she realizes there is much more to the story of her friend's disappearance than what she thought. She agrees to have Liam be her "fake" fiancé to get answers from the inside but things quickly become anything but fake. Liam and Maria are HOT and their chemistry is undeniable.
Liam is the last of his friends to be single and is starting to feel a little left out as he watches his friends/ teammates fall in love and begin a new chapter in their lives. He has been content so far to have quick flings without getting serious. One look at Maria has him questioning all of that. Maria, while sheltered, has been trained to defend herself physically and proves this when Liam pulls her into their escape vehicle. She is strong with all aspects of her life except her relationship with her mother and uncle. Spending time with Liam challenges everything she knew her whole life.
Many of the questions set forth in the earlier books are answered here but I get the sense that the story is not yet over. Ellie sets this up well to continue the work of the Guardians.

This is the 7th book in the Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists series and this story wraps up an AMAZING series. This story features Liam and Maria's "fake relationship" romance as we've reached the end for the men of Alpha team on the Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists. They finally have the information that they need to dismantle the human trafficking network. Maria is a mafia princess who's father just recently died leaving her the controlling shares in the family hotel. Her mother isn't exactly the warm and fuzzy type so she doesn't look forward to the weekly lunches her mom makes her attend. When her best friend Sybil disappears in her hotel she checks the security footage and chases after them causing her to get grabbed by Liam. Liam is one of the good guys a member of the Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists and he's there rescuing women that have been kidnapped that they were planning to traffic. In order to gain access to the hotel Maria agrees to pose as Liam's fiancee. Liam and Maria are forced to give an Oscar worthy performance too bad they're not acting. They both have real feelings for each other but they have to survive Maria's family. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this exciting action packed story to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

Rescuing Maria is the final book for this series, the one where Liam - Alpha 6 falls hard for a woman he never sees coming.
This story was thrilling, fast paced, full of passion and danger. It was heart wrenching at times, but I loved every minute of Liam and Maria's fast paced love story.
It's easy to fall for Liam, his confidence, charm and quick wit make him stand out. But as with all these Guardians Liam takes his job very seriously and he'll do anything to rescue those that have been taken.
Liam is on an important mission, along with his team they successfully secure some girls who were being held.
Until Maria a woman who's on her own mission literally crashes into Liam and his team demanding answers to the whereabouts of her friend.
Liam was not expecting the whirlwind that is Maria Rossi, and when he gets orders to be her pretend boyfriend as a means to get closer to her family, he sees it as just another mission. However what neither of them realise is how the chemistry between them never needs to be faked because it's real and passionate and it consumes them both.
I absolutely love The Guardian Hostage Rescue series, the fast pace, instant chemistry and suspenseful moments are addictive. If you like Military Alpha Heroes, these Guardians are going to be your next weakness.

An excellent ending to the series

I have loved this whole series written by Ellie Masters. With each book I think that THIS one is my favorite. But in reality, I don't have a favorite. I love them all equally. One thing I love about the books are that we see characters from book to book and series to series. I feel apart of this world. I WANT to be a part of the world. These are standalone books but so much better as a whole series.
The main characters are so likable and the storyline kept me glued to the book. I couldn't wait to read Liam and Maria's story and I wasn't disappointed! I didn't want to put it down to live my life. They had so much chemistry. I want to be Maria. She's smart, loving, loyal and strong. And Liam is so swoon worthy.
I'm sad to this series came to an end, yet it really continues on to Ellie's next series...BRAVO TEAM and GUARDIAN PERSONAL PROTECTION SPECIALISTS. Looking forward to reading them as well! Hopefully we'll still see some of these guys and gals again!

Rescuing Maria is the quintessential ending to the Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists and perfectly encapsulates the entire series. Suspense, intrigue, danger, action and white hot romance...how can you go wrong? Guardian has finally pulled all the threads and gotten the intel they need to shut down and completely dismantle the human trafficking network. Be prepared...there are some shocking revelations. When all is said and done Rescuing Maria is the perfect segue to Guardian HRS: Bravo team.
Liam and Maria together are six kinds of awesome! The intensity of their connection was....phew! Liam is a protector through and through. His intensity gave me chills. His back story details give you all the info you need to understand the man. Despite a rocky beginning with Liam she quickly becomes an ideal partner. She's tough. She's skilled. She keeps a cool exterior despite falling apart on the inside. She'll do whatever it takes to get her best friend back. What she didn’t count on is the instant and insanely intense attraction to a man she's only known for hours. When her life as she's known it begins to crumble right before her eyes, Liam is there for her without hesitation. Their fake relationship lasted about two minutes before it became very real.

This is book seven and the final book in The Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists and it is Maria and Liam's story and omg it is definitely a must read. I have had the honour of reading every single book in this series but I have to say that this is my all time favourite and I don't say that lightly as every book was absolutely amazing. The characters and storyline pulled you in right from the start and the twists and turns along with betrayal, mystery, action, suspense, danger, secret's, kidnapping, hope, love and difficult situations is what makes this book a real page turner and totally addictive. The chemistry between Maria and Liam was so hot and intense that it was sizzling of the pages of this book and it was a really explosive story where we get to find out a lot more of the background history. I am so sad to see the end of this amazing series but can't wait to read the next new series of The Bravo Team. Ellie Masters is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and on the edge of their seats and the depth of her story's are what makes you go back again and again to read more of her books and I definitely recommend you read her book's and you will not be disappointed.

The series continues with Liam and Maria. Drama, tension, mayhem and disturbing events all play their part in how this couple become seriously involved and their attraction develops into a full blown relations - another success in this interesting and well written series.

Rescuing Maria is the last book for the Alpha team and what a way to end! It is different from the previous books, not only in that it is quite a bit longer, but that while the clear focus is on Liam and Maria, of course, there is also a bit of reminiscing about how amidst the hunt for the worst kind of criminals there is all the team members found love. It's a great recap and for those who haven't read the complete series, an incentive to do so asap! I also loved how we get to see all the different sides of Liam - protector, child actor, dancer, caring son and friend, as well as hot and demanding lover. Maria is just as strong and multi-faceted, with some amazing moves. I have to admit that I had my suspisions early on as to who was the main culprit, but there were so many twists and turns that I didn't see coming and which kept me doubting. Sweet, tender, hot, brutal, nerve-wrecking, sometimes downright sickening - Ellie doesn't pull any punches in this story. It's a n awesome book and a fitting finale for the A team. But thank goodness it's not the end for the Guardians. The stories of the Bravo team are next and if the prelude is any indication, they're going to be smoking hot!

This is the final book in the Guardian Hostage Rescue series and what a conclusion it is It has all the hallmarks of this wonderful series suspense dram action and of course romance but i have to tell you in this final book that is all on steroids

After Maria realises that her friend has vanished in her hotel she owns. When she was looking at the security screens she realised that intruders were in her hotel removing three women. She chases after them, and is pulled into a van by Liam. Lian is a member of Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists and they were rescuing kidnapped women who were going to be trafficked. Maria agrees to pretend to be engaged to Liam to give the team access to her hotel. It looks like her uncle and super controlling mother might be involved in the trafficking. Will Maria survive the attempt to destroy the trafficking ring?

These books just keep getting better and better. I adored Liam and Maria.
Their connection from the very start was just simplistic and amazing. I adored how flirty Liam was and how quickly Maria came on board but her reservation at the start was totally understandable.
Maria's family were criminals but she had no idea how bad till her best friend Sybil was abducted. The Guardians captured her and she ended up helping them when she was paired up with Liam as her fake fiancee.
The whole book was a roller coaster from start to finish. The drama never stops and the chemistry never fizzed. I just loved this book. Highly recommend this series and can't wait for more in the Bravo series.

She ends up being taken as well. Sparks fly between Liam and Maria which leads to their false engagement as a cover once Maria learns about some of what her uncle is doing. Maria and Liam working together discover more of what her family including her mother have been up to which they will pay for. Maria and Liam get together for real and the proposal is a bit prickly. I like how Maria intends to help the Guardians in her own way.

OMG !!! loved it !! love this series !!! love Maria and Liam... this is their story... a fast paced action packed drama... and the last of this series... Maria is the Princess in the ivory Tower... a mafia princess but, she never believed it... until... she couldn't deny it... her best friend goes missing.. she must find her... she runs into Liam... she thinks he's the bad guy until... now, they have to work together... as a couple ? it becomes real fast... they have to deal with her mother... and so much more....what an ending !!!

I looked for a sixth star; this book merits it. This is the last in the Alpha Team series for the Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists, but remember that there are more letters in the alphabet! We get more than a brief cameo of Forest; he seems more real after this than after his own book even. But the focus is on Maria Rossi – Sophia’s friend, from those familiar with her story – and Liam, her Guardian. My heart broke for Maria in this story, and it stopped a few times too. This is a book filled with tension, resolution, hope in many ways, and fear, trauma, evil – and it can’t be a spoiler to say that good triumphs – over the evil they find. It’s another Ellie Masters masterpiece that is a clear one-sitting read. Oh, and the conclusion - heartstopping.

This is the 7th and final book in the Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists series and so ends an AMAZING series. This is Liam and Maria's story. She is a mafia princess who goes into a "fake relationship" romance with Liam to finally get the the information that they need to dismantle the human trafficking network. How this happens is an amazing story. So please sit back and enjoy the roller coaster ride you are about to partake in!

I can’t believe we are finally going to get the answers we’ve been dying for. This is the 7th and final book in the series. I couldn’t wait to read. This story is about This is the book picks up where we left off with Rescuing Sybil. Maria is desperately looking for her best friend Sybil. She heads to the Guardians to confront them, and yep, she’s planning on using her gun to get the answers she wants. Unfortunately she uses it on Liam who quickly disarms her before she can shoot. Then pulls her into the mission.

A MUST Read
This whole series has been fantastic. The books have everything you would want and every emotion. They were all can't put down once started and at times I was tingling with nerves as to what was happening even though I knew the books would have happy endings. One of the books especially had me all over the place reading it and I won't spoil what one of was. Read them all and in order. Believe me, they are worth it. I would suggest you read all the books in order starting with the rock star (Angel Fire) series so you get to know things from the start. Thanks Ellie.
