The pews haven’t shut up yet, and the choir continues to sing. After Bryce’s dark secrets begin to come to light, he embarks on a journey of damage control. Nothing or no one is safe, not even him, and certainly not his beloved church, Heavenly Hope. But that still doesn’t stop him from running for cover. When it comes to his money and his manor, he’ll do anything to protect it. Even if that means having to neglect the ones he supposedly loves the most. His wife, Easter, on the other hand, is dealing with the debris from his damages, and this time, she refuses to be the one responsible for cleaning it up. Instead, she does what she knows how to do survive—with or without Bryce. In that aspect, Harlem Jones, who’s part of one of the city’s most lethal drug rings, are alike. Survival has been Harlem’s way of life since the death of his mother, which Easter’s husband, Bryce, is the reason for.Finding out that Anniston’s admired pastor was accountable for his angel’s murder sent him over the edge. Now, it’s all about revenge. Will he get it before it’s too late? The clock is ticking.
4.5 This part of the series showed how down and dirty Bryce truly was as he continued his evil ways. Storyline held my attention as each chapter provided more drama. Easter was not a fave character. I did feel bad for Terrance, Melody and Tamia for getting caught up with Bryce. Erin was a lucky one and made a smart move when she left. Good ending and series
Bryce was a whole mess and his mother Sharon didn't make it any better since she was a keeper of his many secrets and always cleaned up the mess he created. Bryce was the worst type of Pastor. He was in it or monetary gain and didn't care who he hurt. His past resurfaced and put everybody around him in danger. Easter refuse to stick by Bryce and was even more furious when tragedy struck and harm was brought to their daughter. Bryce didn't seem to really care. Terrence found out about Erin secrets and snapped but he didn't escape Bryce wrath. Harlem started feeling guilty about a job he did but he didn't take away from the revenge he was plotting
This was ok. I honestly believe that this story could have wrapped in one book. This pastor was just as sinful as all of your IG mega church pastors. This sequel left too many loose ends for me. Thankfully there’s no book 3.
What kind I say about this book, first I'm so glad I pray daily this book talked about people in the church, not Christian. I'm so glad I know the difference, what was really sad is the lady been going to church for 20 years and Never did anyone ever want to pray. It was an OK read, way too much cussing for me.

Again, this was not what I was expecting. If you were to look up the words dysfunctional and hypercritical, there would be pictures of the characters of this book. 😀
This was a lot! I've come across people like some of these characters. Dealing with them is exhausting! I've also dated momma boys and let me tell ya, those mom ma's are worse than their crazy sons.
This was definitely a page turner, but honestly, I had to take breaks while reading this series. 🤦🏾♀️ This was my first time reading this authors work. Good job.
This book was worth the wait! Never judge a person by what you see on the outside. Everybody has a story to tell, and what you see on the outside is more often than not, what it is. Bryce was more than a trip this dude was a nightmare vacation. Just because somebody praising God don't mean they have him in their heart. If pews could talk I can only imagine the stories!
I chose this rating because although I loved the book there were grammatical errors. Bryce was definitely something else, he made a lot of enemies & ruined a lot of lives. He should've just faced his consequences. Erin was something else as well, she definitely should have told someone who had raped, & impregnated her. Sharon was despicable, she should've been knocking her son out not helping him with all his foolishness. I'm glad Heaven was able to walk again.
Ashley is a beast with a pen 🖊. Harlem though ???? That one hit me hard , so now you have to give me a book about him . Easter said she wasn’t always bougie and she stay ready so she doesn’t have to get ready . Bryce took everyone with him before he met his demise . Hurt people definitely hurt people . I feel like I need a part 3 . I have a lot of feelings that need closure .
Book 2 was just as great as book 1. I still picture Bryce was such a dishonorable man. He got ALL he deserved. Harlem,I likes him. He really got the bad end of the stick. I was rooting for him. Terrence and Erin....what a pair. Chile these church folk were some demons. I mean just down right bad,and I loved reading all about them . This was such a good read!!!!
I so happy Easter got her happy ever after she went through hell with Bryce I’m glad. He got what he deserve. I was sad that Mello and heaven died. Last but not least them church folks were messy.
Glad to find out what happened to these characters. Easter endured a lot of stress , heartache and disrespect while being married to Pastor Bryce. He was a self absorbed man who loved women and money. He did all type of things to make sure he had both no matter what the cost or how many lives were lost. All this was done while trying to protect his holy reputation. Needless to say his behavior left many speechless and upset. Good read, recommend the series!
A very good drama filled series with deep dark secrets that can hurt people if exposed. If you love church drama this is a very good book to pick up and read. Enjoy I did....
The 2nd book was just as good as the first! The 2 best friends were out to destroy each other's lives. The secrets of the pastor's life were coming out and the biggest part had intentions of killing him. This book was definitely a great page turner!
Baby thanks for giving us this good book child I would’ve been beat the brakes off of Erin she deserved hands put on her n last but not least Bryce dog azz smh he was the worst
The book was not boring at all I wished it was away that Harlem could have gotten his revenge on Daddy next .The picture that was painted of a man of the cloth is some some what real to me but pastor was so ruthless and never saw anything wrong.
This book had more drama than a soap opera. I was really rooting for Harlem, and I felt like Bryce shouldn't have suffered just a little more. I was happy that Easter got everything she deserved and Mama Sharon should have suffered, too.
Like my mother and others have said God don't like ugly that so call man of God had no remorse no fear of God and no value of human life not even his children
