I may be the wrong audience for Russian Daddy, but I read a lot of Daddy Kink and this was the 3rd Daddy/Boy book I read in succession, and the other two were stellar. IN comparison this book felt like I was reading something slapped together and sensationalized. It was like going from reading the New York Times to reading the National Enquirer.

I can best describe this book as a cotton candy train wreck - so sickeningly sweet but disastrously hard to look away from. I had an ARC so I felt obligated to continue. One of the weirdest things about this book was that in the middle of it, the author does a commercial for his own books.

I felt like I not only lost part of a day in reading this book, but I may have lost brain cells.

I threw in the towel at the 50% mark. I'm sorry. This story was not for me. It is so over the top it drove me crazy. BUT by the many sterling reviews for it, I and a very few others, are outnumbered in our struggle with it. So, if you are interested, you should give it a try.
It's not for me. I tried. I really did.

Karter was cute.

Tim.... yeah no thank you. The man growled and barked more than a dog. Sorry not sorry, but he was the flakiest mob assassin I've ever read. And to be fair, not much of a protector (or a daddy) if he was willing to put his boy in danger so easily. Honestly, he hurt my head.

I think I could have enjoyed it more were it not for so many glaring inconsistencies. Things didn't make any sort of sense, time frames made no sense and yeah, I get that this is supposed to be adorable and Daddy/little kink, and even extending the realm of reality, this book made me laugh more at how glaringly unbelievable it was than having actual cute, funny parts.

Honestly I would have DNF'd this book at the 15% mark was it not for the fact that I wanted to see how the author was going to pull off what I personally believe to be the stupidest plot. At least the first two in the series made a sort of semblance of sense.

I love Daddy/little and Daddy/boy books but this one...I have my doubts I'll read anything else by this author. Sadly this book ruined them for me.

Read this in a sitting! Every time I pick up a new book in this series, I swear it’s my favorite!
Karter is the sweetest little there ever was, who spends his time helping to rehabilitate animals.
As soon as Timofey lays eyes on him, he’s a goner.
It just so happens they’re both headed to the same place, for entirely different reasons, but once Karter steps foot on Timofey’s yacht, and finds out what exactly Tim is doing, he’s all on board, hoping Tim can help be a better adult before he heads off to college with his friends.
The self growth that both go through is incredible to watch unfold.
This is such a sweet and fluffy story, filled with stuffed duckies and growly daddies who turn into absolute marshmallows for their boys!

The storyline of Timofey and Karter was Exceptionally written. It was sweet, loving. Aster Rae is an Outstanding Author. This book is one that I couldn't put down, between the duckies and bad guys I was so intrigued.  Karter is one brave little guy, Timofey is a wonderful daddy to read about. I just love how Aster keeps his books so real, full of warmth, adventures.

2 Cliches Stars...

Cliché after cliché upon cliché...

The internal monologues are a bit strange from Timmy's standpoint. Timofey is that a Russian name?..

How does a Little gone on to be an assassin?...It happens to Karter..

This was hard to finish..not recommended

Time of death 63%. I tried, I really did BUT a Hitman Little, ah NO!!! Hell NO!!!!! To each their own but come on. The first two books I liked a lot but this I had to draw the line. I'll try the rest of the series and we'll see how the other pairings go.

Lol wtf IS this?? Sorry to the author but come on! I’m not a writer and even I know to not use the same word over and over and over when telling a story. Folks, seriously the MC daddy doesn’t SAY anything- he growls. Every single line of his is described as a growl…or a bark. Did anyone proof read this?

Quick read

This is book 3 in the series (though there was also a free prequel given by signing up to the authors newsletter). It can be read as a standalone. However there are updates on the previous couples, so it is best to read in order if you intend to read the previous books. I Definitely recommend this book and the previous books and I will definitely read future books in this fabulous series. Lucas seems adorable as well.

I loved this OTT sweet story and could not put it down from start to finish. If Mafia isn't your thing trust me just read it. It is so cute. Timofey may be a ruthless leader of the Russian mob but he just turns all soft and melty for his boy. For Timofey it is love at first sight but Karter is a shy virgin so they move a little bit slow. So even though this has a instalove feel it is also a slow burn, at least when it comes to emotions. It's a very sweet, fun, quick, low angst and very steamy read. I absolutely loved the the main characters and thought that they had amazing chemistry. I loved the side characters and thought that there was great world building. I can't decide if I loved book 2 or 3 more. I think I loved this couple more and found this plot more interesting with Karter getting involved. However, I found this book more OTT in being slightly cheesy at times. So I love them both pretty equal for different reasons.

This is the 3rd book in Aster's Russian Protectors series, and it was adorable. Timofey is a brutal assassin but when he meets Karter at an animal rescue, he is smitten. Karter doesn't expect Timofey to stick around because of his kinks but is pleasantly surprised when Timofey supports and encourages Karter to be his true self. As a thank you, Karter wants to help Timofey out with a very dangerous mission. It's so cute seeing a "little" go all bad a** and try to protect his buff Russian Daddy from harm. The one thing that I absolutely love about Aster's books is the acceptance and support that is given to the characters regarding their desires. There is no shaming, just encouragement and love. This book also had some self promotion on Aster's part that had me laughing out loud. I thought it was cleverly written and summed up his books perfectly! "The books have Mafia and Hitman in the title, but the Daddies are super fluffy." This is 100% true! There is violence when necessary, but overall, these books are incredibly sweet and full of fun.

Russian Daddy is full of fluffy sweetness. Karter, animal rescuer and a little, and Timofey, a hitman and Daddy, meet at an animal rescue that Karter works at. Instant attraction follows, and soon they are off on an adventure on Timofey's yacht. headed to Columbia. Timofey is headed there to perform a hit, while Karter is headed there to rescue animals. What I enjoy about Aster Rae's writing is the humor, heart, and as I mentioned above, sweetness, that is brought to each book. The scenes between Karter and Timofey are full of fluff, and seeing Timofey embrace Karter for who he is, and dive in wholeheartedly is full of win for me. The end does feel a little rushed, and some elements seem to get repeated frequently (Karter stating he wants to be a functioning adult), but I have really enjoyed this series so far, and I enjoyed Russian Daddy, because it made me smile while reading it. Insta Love, Duckies and Danger!

I got an ARC for a honest review and here is is:

Every time I read a Mafia MM romance from Aster Rae, I think, wow, that’s nothing she can top and every time I‘m wrong.

This is the third book in the Russian Protectors series and it’s so sweet to meet the characters from the first books again. This book is about Karter, a little who is totally in ducklings and Timofey the mafia guy. Karter is so sweet with his du klings, not only in his little world, also in the reals world he’s working for a nonprofit rescue and helping ducklings and other pets.

It’s so cute to follow Karter and Timofey on their way to their HEA with all the other characters from the other books.

I‘m really looking forward to the next book in the series and highly recommend this book and the rest of the series.

Russian assassin gets "ducky"

If books were flavors this one would definitely be cotton candy rainbow sprinkled birthday cake! Despite being about the middle of the Anatonav brothers, an assassin, it's probably the sweetest of the books so far. Karter us the cutest duck loving Little and absolutely unashamed of his kink! Even the ones he didn't know he had! I enjoy reading Aster Rae because I know that I'm going to get a low angst, all the sugary feelings story and that's exactly what this was. I appreciate that when dealing with kink and BDSM the author spends a good amount of time regarding safety and consent, which is really paramount to any healthy kink relationship. I've been binge reading this series and thoroughly enjoying each one. I can't wait for the next installment!

Timofey sees Karter and is a gonner. Coincidentally they are both going to Colombia - Karter to save ducks from pollution and Timofey to wipe out the leader of a drugs cartel based there. So Timofey invites him onto his luxury yacht to sail there instead of taking a scheduled flight adding a new goal to this trip there - to become Karter's forever Daddy.

This was an enjoyable read but I didn't like it as much as the previous two books in the series. I did find the involvement of his boy partly endearing because he was given a choice to take part and party abuse as it was corrupting him in the same way as his Daddy. I do however like the emphasis across the entire series on informed consent. Easy to read and understand. This contains mature MM content in a BDSM-like DDLB relationship.

Just Ducky

This was by far the most over the top book of this series with Karter and Timofey. Karter is a sweet boy who rescues ducks and Timofey is the brother of Igor and also a Russian mobster. Karter joins Timofey on his yacht as they travel to Colombia to save ducks and take out a rival mobster. I recommend reading the first two books first as this is a continuing story and is better enjoyed by reading in order. You have to suspend belief to the max but that's the fun in reading fiction, anything can and does happen. HEA with an epilogue plus a 4th book with new friend Lucas coming soon. I highly recommend this series.

story about Karter getting his daddy/ protector.
Following on the series of the brothers Timofey is off on a mission, but after he sees Karter in the rescue center and discovers he's going to the same place to rescue ducks , he offers him a place on his boat . Timofey was mesmerized by Karter the moment they met , and wanted to be his daddy. But was worried Karter would not want him as he is a killer and belongs in the Mafia.
Karter wanted Timofey but also wanted to prove himself as an adult. Along the way Karter discovers new things about himself.
Very sweet story with lots of fun going on.

DNF

I think I'm still in shock.
I don't understand how this book got this many positive reviews.

Daddy's only form of comunication is growling.
I think this is the first time I saw someone describing himself to be growling

"Hold the duckies," I growl, handing the ducklings I found on the corner of Fifth Avenue and
Central Park to my assistant Jamie.

I actually looked it up. In 189 pages "growled" was used 75 times.

The pace is extremely fast. Conversations are awkward. Chemistry is at 0% for me.
I like me some cringe sometimes but that is a no even from me.

Loved, loved, loved Timofey and Karter!! Karter had a terrible childhood but still remained sweet! I loved the duckies! I loved these growly Russian mafioso’s that the author had created!! Hard and growly on the outside but sweet and fluffy on the onside, especially after they find their boy! The story was really well written, highly recommend! I’m voluntarily reviewing from an advanced copy that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.

Duckies and Drug Empires

Who else but an innocent young man could win the heart of a cold blooded mafia man in charge of the drug trade.
But where in the world do ducks fit in? For that you will have to read this amazing book!

Timofey and Karter are as opposite as they can be at first glance. But only those who are involved in a relationship truly appreciate the Idiocracys of each other.

Another great addition to this series!

Loving these Russian Daddies

Dang Karter is one tough little. I was not expecting him to jump into the mafia but that is part of his charm. He is sweet and fluffy but ready to do anything to protect what he loves. Timofey is just as possessive as his brothers when it comes to their boys. He is a great Daddy to Karter and helps his boy explore his kinky side. I am loving this series and can't wait to jump into the next one.

Nummy Daddy

Timofey was an unexpected daddy. From previous books I was not sure I would like Timofey, he was everything I wanted in a daddy. Karter was everything baby boy and more.

The story dragged in spots but was interesting. The gun battle was murky; overall it was good story.

I love Daddy kink but the author of this book lost the plot lines a few times. The editing was also poor. There were instances where it should be Timofey speaking but the name 'Karter said' appears. I have to be re-reading to figure out the mistake.

I read Rowan and Igor story and I loved it, but Karter and Timofey story missed the mark.

Should I buy Demetri and Lucas story

Matter and Timofey's Story

This was older man younger man, with Daddy/boy, with some other kinks. A boy who was unloved and verbally abused by his mom was having trouble being an adult until he meets his Russian assassin who not only builds him up but loves him for who he is inside.

This series by Aster Rae is just not doing it for me. I forced myself to finish this book, and Im really questioning if I will continue. Everyone feels flat and boring. And usually Im all for ott and near ridiculous, I loved the other mafia series by Aster, but geez, this is just not it.

Russian Daddy is the third book in the Russian Protectors series by Aster Rae. This book is about Timofey and Karter, if you read the first 2 books you've already met them. I liked their story. It was sweet, sexy, fun and very well written.

So sweet and steamy

This may just be the best of the series yet! Kristof and his duckies are so adorable and Timofey is swoon worthy. What could be a very heavy emo story is light and funny in Aster's hands.
