Fae Touched #1.5

Fae Divided

Rate this book
For love or duty...

Wolf shifter James Reed’s orders from the vampire prince are fairly simple. He’s to infiltrate a group of magical outcasts and stop them from igniting war between humans and the Fae Touched. What he has to do in order to complete his task and protect his family …well, that’s anything but simple…

Sarah Reed doesn’t believe for a second that her mate turned on their pack and deserted her…no matter how guilty he looks. There must be an explanation for his behavior, and she’s not going to rest until she finds it—and him. Even if it kills her.

With time running out and deadly enemies circling, only one thing is certain. If James and Sarah want their fairy tale, happily ever after, they’ll have to fight for it. And if they’re not careful they could lose the most important thing of all…each other.

*Fae Divided, book 2 in the Fae Touched series, is a lightly angsty, highly emotional paranormal romance/urban fantasy 37,000 word novella featuring a protective alpha hero, a brave heroine, a bit of cursing, a little violence, and some sexy scenes—tastefully done, of course.

Fae Divided is Lisa Rae Roman's fantasy novella, following on from and running parallel with, her novel Fae Touched, telling the story from the point of view of wolf James and his mate, Sarah.

Whilst Pack leader Samuel finds his lover in Abby, his sister's loyal mate has suddenly gone rogue, scorning everyone he held dear. But James has been given the task of going deep undercover to unmask a threat to all of the fae touched.

I adored the first book and this novella is equally as good, introducing the reader to another bite obsessed couple and a new layer of intrigue. Snarling and sentimental, the tortured James is a furry delight.

Read Fae Touched, then go straight into this, immersing yourself in the pack with a satisfied growl.

Looking forward to see what happens next!

Fae Divided is the story of James Reed, the elusive renegade shifter mentioned in the wonderful first book of this series, Fae Touched. The events in the two books cover the same time period, the second serving to enhance and embellish the first. The devotion of Roman’s characters are endearing, once again making me envious of the wolf pack mentality! The next book, Fae Devoted, is on my TBR.

Loved it!

So much was revealed in this book that put closure to some of the issues in book 1. Very well done! Of course this book started more arcs and left us with some missing key players and an entirely new player in the game… or so they seem to be. My guess? A dragon shifter! But since dragons weren’t mentioned in the foreword detailing the history of these characters, I’m likely completely wrong! 🤣🤣 But who knows, the Rip could lead to other realms as well. Lol

Another exciting adventure awaits. I hope we get more of Scarlett, whom I think may be the king of one of the big mage players. We still don’t know who the traitor is on Mud Island that was feeding info to the Sidhe Lord. I’m wondering still if it’s Gregory because something is off about dude, Lol. Though his character is funny af!

See my notes, highlights and commentary on Goodreads. Happy reading!

If you’ve read Fae Touched then you’ll love Fae Divided!
This is the story of James and Sarah. Werewolf shifters. James is ordered by the Vampire Prince to infiltrate the group of shifters that are threatening the Paranormals way of life, the only problem is that it’s going to be hard to do. It’s going to be dangerous because James isn’t the only one that is going to be affected because he’s not going to be the only one in danger. James is going to have to keep Sarah out of the loop because to a shifter separation could be deadly and he’s been ordered not to tell anyone what he is doing!
To Find out what happens to James and Sarah you’ll have to jump right in and read this Captivating story! I Can’t wait for the next book in this series!

Good series
I really enjoyed this novella. It was clever of the author to keep the second book short but to have it as a stand alone that whets the appetite for what comes next. This ties up a little cliff hanger from Book 1 and provides the opportunity to further the plot and our understanding of the world these creatures live in, both honourable at times and brutal a lot of the time.
Sarah and James deserved their story, and at the same time we are re-introduced to the main protagonists of the series, and it is certainly heating up to make the next book very exciting. Wonderful world building, well-developed characters and plot, and plenty of emotional and sexual tension added to some good writing, makes this a very good read.

Decent novella

I liked the James and Sarah dynamics, but novellas are pretty short for my tastes.

Anyways good story, but I don’t get why the Queen likes Myles. Prince Myles deserves to be banished as he is a heartless sociopath and worse than the evil fey lord they are fighting.

Entertaining!

Loved this book! It’s standalone but definitely best to read the first book in the series before this one to get a full picture of the plot and the characters. Definitely worth a read! So well written!

Great for a novella. It could've been a really great full-length novel if the time hops were ever filled in. I love the attention to detail to the Fae world/culture.

I want more

I loved this story, it was so good. Although I felt like I missed a few things since I’m reading book 2 first instead of book 1. Also I hope Adam is okay

Curious as to what/who Adam is that would frighten an ancient Fae Lord of immense power.

I just want to live in this magical Fae Touched world. There are fierce friendships, loving mates, and an understanding of togetherness between all this world's races: shifter, vampire, human, half-breeds, and Walkers/Jumpers. That doesn't mean there's no action. There are epic battles and serious villains and steamy scenes in this novella. It's a world prepping for battle, but it's also a world full of love and forgiveness.

This is contemporary paranormal romance at its finest. I love the dual POV and the happily ever after we saw, even in this shorter story. Cannot WAIT for Fae Devoted!
