A summer evening in Denver. Three seemingly random people shot within hours, and only one victim has survived: Detective Sarah Spillman.

As Sarah fights for her life in surgery and ICU, her long-time partners, Ernie Moore and Spats Youngfield, investigate the three shootings, desperate to find links that might connect the attacks and lead to the assassin before he strikes again.

And for Ernie and Spats, stunned and furious that someone would go after their partner, this isn't just another case. For both men, this time ... it's personal.

This installment gives the reader a new perspective. I felt shock when Sarah was shot out of the blue, but for that reason her injury put the focus on the people around her. We learn more about Harry and her partners, Ernie and Spats, in the police precinct along with several other detectives who become involved with the investigation. Even though Sarah is sidelined with a bullet wound, she still provides her own input into the crimes.

What I really like about these mysteries, along with the great plot lines, is that I have no worries about explicit scenes or language cropping up to annoy me. Even though I am privileged to receive an ARC, I still highly recommend this series and I feel this is the best book yet!

Deadly Target (Detective Sarah Spillman Mystery Series Book 6), my forty-ninth read from author Renee Pawlish. I read it in one sitting, in just a few hours. Great characters, great storyline, a must-read! Yeah, it is that good! As Pawlish expands her writings over 3 primary characters it has improved all three. I've said it before but this may be her best book yet. With Sarah on the shelf her partners step up, oops, no spoilers. Buy the book. Read the book for yourself.A Renee Pawlish book is like a visit with an old friend. “I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to the next book in this series when it's published. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

This is the sixth in the series about Police Detective Sarah Spillman. Throughout the series the stories have centered on Sarah and provided the reader with greater insight into her life, both public and private. This book takes a turn and gives us a deeper understanding of her close coworkers motivation and personal lives.

Very early in the story Sarah is shot and from that point on the story is all about the efforts that her friends and coworkers put into the investigation of her shooter. We learn much about them, their motivations and their feelings about Sarah.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and have not hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

Author Renee Pawlish takes a different direction in the latest Sarah Spillman mystery. This time Sarah is one of the victims! Her dedicated partners race to uncover who the shooter is and worry they may strike again, all while trying to figure out why Sarah was targeted. The tension is thick, the questions need answering, will Sarah recover, and the race to solve this crime is on!

Although Sarah is on the periphery in this mystery as an active investigator, she is still very much central to the story. Pawlish blended the characters in such a way you are not left wanting more Sarah.

Overall a great read.

Deadly Target, the latest installment in the Detective Sarah Spillman Mystery Series, starts with Sarah enjoying a casual summer walk in her neighborhood. The night turns crazy as Denver has three long-range shootings in rapid succession. How could the death of a college student, the death of a local businessman and the life-threatening shooting of beloved Detective Spillman be related? Now it is time for Sarah’s partners Ernie and Spats to follow the clues to locate this crazy shooter. As usual Renee Pawlish has written a great mystery. I received an ARC for my honest review. Get your copy immediately.

Detectives

Renew Pawlish has written another great book in this series. When one of their own has been shot along with two other people the rest of the detectives start working real hard to find the killer. They want her there helping them because they think she's the best at the job.

Random Shooter Creates Havoc
This is the 6th book in a police procedural series. Our heroine is casually walking down the street after work and is shot, two others are killed. A crazy manhunt ensues. Are the three shootings related, or random? Lots of rocks to look under in this suspenseful whodunnit!

Wowza, didn't see That coming!!
Ernie and Spats have to solve a case, for a very good reason, unfortunately.  It's  a doozy and has them receiving help from some new characters.  They do a pretty good job of it, even with minimal help from Sarah.
A shocker but great story!

This book grabbed my attention from the start. I enjoyed the way the different point of view was written for each character. The story line was intense and had me guessing from the start! Loved the characters and their interactions. If you like suspense this is a book you will want to read!

Great Read

DEADLY TARGET is a suspense filled thriller. It would make a good movie. The criminals are ruthless, willing to kill innocent people to make a point. But they misjudged their opponents and it cost them.

I read all the previous novels which were okay but this one was a dud. The last 10% of the book was the only interesting part of the story, but the ending was severely lacking.

Page Turner Alert!!!!!

As always, this series does not disappoint.
Sarah takes a back seat, (well sort of) in this one.
It had me intrigued until the very end.

A miss

This series was going along so well and then this dud pops up.
Hopefully this is a one time stinker.
