Welcome to Pearl's Cove, where the sun shines bright, the water glistens, and men are on the dinner menu…
After a summer on the road, paranormal investigator Aiden and lunar witch Selene arrive in the beach town Pearl’s Cove. But things aren’t so sunny in the tourist town—men are going missing, and their bones are washing up on shore. Locals believe a monstrous sea creature is behind the attacks. Some even claim to have seen the creature lurking among the ocean tides.
As if matters can’t get any worse, someone from Aiden’s past shows up, and she’s a little too happy to cause friction between the partners turned lovers. Now they must navigate the stormy waters of not only the ocean itself, but of their relationship, too. With more victims turning up and time running out, one bone-chilling thing becomes clear: Aiden is the next man on the menu.
This is the 3rd book in the Paranormal Hunters Series. I have been loving Aiden & Selene's love story since I joined a tour a few months ago!
This time they are in search of her grandmother's coven which takes them to California and they find more than they bargained for.
-A spooky stepford seaside town where everyone is super happy. Ok I would be suspect too.
-Missing people in the past and strange disappearances.
-And oh my the steaminess!
We also run into a person from the past. Yikes.
Aiden and Selene host their own paranormal hunter series which is how they met in book #1. There is so much happening in this book and so many twists.
There is a sea creature eating men and leaving their bones on the beach, omg wait till you find out who it is? Gasp, I was not expecting that!
Aiden appears to be the next meal.
Selene also found her grandmother's coven but they bring way more questions than answers to her past. As the super moon is approaching for the lunar witches, things are amping up.
As perfect as Aiden and Selene seem to be for eachother, as they work well and "play" well together. They are still impulsive or leave eachother out plans which leads to miscommunication and almost near death. That's how some of my fights seem to go to, jk I'm not a sea creature only in the mornings.
It's the journey not the destination right😉
Ok but excuse me did you just end in Ireland with 🐺? 😍😍😍😍😍
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫 Steam: 🔥🔥
Thank you @milanickswrites for a copy of the e-ARC for my honest and voluntary review. I definitely enjoyed this one! I can't wait for the next!
This series has steadily become better. Aiden and Selene are becoming one of my favorite series couples. I was very happy to find merpeople in this story. 🧜♀️🧜♂️ Although this book was a page-turner, the plot holes in the end was GAPING and disappointing!
The book has lost a lot of points for me with the sloppy ending, but I still enjoy it for the characters and the story along the way so I'm not that angry about it. Hopefully the next book would be just as intriguing, but ties up the loose ends as well.
This series got me hooked. I didn't expect the ending although there were some signs. I was so engrossed in the plot and making my theories that I overlooked them. The ending was perfect. I have some ideas on what could be next and I'm so excited for what's coming next.
Noelle and Bibi are my fav. I love them so much. I miss them so much. I'm glad they appear in the book.
The steam is still hot. Piping hot. The chemistry between them is top tier.
The third installment of Mila Nicks’ Paranormal Hunters series definitely has a different vibe. Halloween meets summer, if you will. I dig it. It may also feel that way because it’s more vacation-y being in a coastal town than I nNew England.
I like that Selene and Aiden are a more established couple with each book. I do feel like Aiden is still a bit closed off, but I suppose that’s why there are more books to come lol.
The setting was interesting and beachy. The creepy happy townsfolk reminded me of the town people in Hot Fuzz. There’s something sinister about happy, nice people these days.
You get a good idea of what was happening early on, but there were still twists.
Selene finds out a lot about Grandma Luna and finds a coven that welcomes her. And while I enjoyed the idea of that coven and Selene finally feeling like part of something, I was always side eyeing them. I think it’s my tendency to be all about the romance and the two people in it. Anytime someone of something comes between the pairing I’m enjoying, I get testy. Same applies to the people and/or things drawing Aiden away. I kept wanting to swipe everyone away so Selene and Aiden could have more fun while beachside.
The story also sets up the next one, which will involve werewolves..in Ireland! Can’t. Wait. We’ve all but confirmed my suspicions about Aiden from book 2. He’s not as noner as some huffy coven witches might think. [I forgot if that was witch specific or if anything paranormal applies. Let’s assume the latter.]
My favorite paranormal hunting duo is back and this time they are in the small town of pearls cove where everything isn’t quite what it seems. Men are going missing and only their bones are washing up on the shore, and there are claims of a creature with yellow eyes in the sea. Can Selene and Aiden solve the case before It’s too late, and Aiden becomes the next victim?
I loved every second of reading this book. Just like it’s two predecessors, it is so much fun to read! This one was action packed. Full of magic, mystery, suspense and of course so much Black Girl Magic! I absolutely adored the coven of witches and watching Selene finally get to meet and bond with other women like her. I also loved watching Selene and Aidens relationship hit some realistic bumps in the road. It really made their relationship seem authentic.
Sirens and mermaid are my favorite mythical creatures to read about but I often find myself annoyed by how cheesy they are. Not this time! Mila really did an amazing job capturing the beauty and also the fear associated with mermaid/siren lore. This book had so many twists and turns I didn’t see coming and had me on the edge of my seat the entire time and I loved it!
Black Siren Song is a must read! I highly recommend it and the two precious books Black Witch Magic and Black Moon Rising.
Im 100% commuted to this series and absolutely can’t wait to see what Selene and Aiden investigate next!!
We need more Mila Nicks. This lady knows how to intelligently write this genre. That’s incredibly refreshing. Black Siren’s Song is the third book in the Paranormal Hunters series. Selene and her boyfriend Aiden travel around the country recording their investigations, but the fun part is, Selene is a real witch and Aiden was a non-believer in the paranormal until he met her. Aiden being a non-believer made the show legit and intriguing because he would debunk any hysteria. He was traveling with a friend of his, Eddie who was a believer as well, but events in the first book occurred that took him out of play and opened the way for Selene to join Aiden. I love these two together. They do not have crazy “misunderstandings” that seem to saturate other books of this genre. They actually communicate with each other (once they calm down) and work things out.
The GoodReads summary of this is above, but I’ll mention briefly that this duo is on a quest to find out more about Selene’s grandmother, Luna who is/was a powerful witch. They trace her to Pearl’s Cove in California where they meet up with some of the town’s more “interesting” neighbors, mermaids, a monster of unknown origin, and a coven of witches Luna helped to establish. It is a paranormal mystery/romance worth reading. If this is a genre you enjoy, you really need to have Mila Nicks in your personal library.
4.5 stars The 3rd book in Paranormal Hunters series & I can safely say that's its my favorite by far.
Selene & Aiden arrive in Pearl's Cove, a small town in California that is not shown on maps, looking for Selene's grandmother Luna. The town may seem sunny from the outside but evil lurks beneath it; men going missing, bones washing up on the shores & a lot of shady characters to begin with.
This book was a perfect, I mean utterly perfect Halloween read. You can totally guess from the cover-which is absolutely gorgeous- that mermaids, sirens & sea witches are involved in this book. There's something about these mythical creatures that always have my attention. The mystery & adrenaline was exhilarating
Apart from the sea creatures, a coven of witches who knew Luna & Aiden's ex girlfriend are thrown into the mix which kept me hooked. A hell of a ride & action packed this was!
Aiden & Selene's chemistry was amazing as usual. The support & care they give each other is beyond infinity. Together like always they face the danger & terror side by side. I can't wait for their next book! Especially after getting a sneak peek that involved Irish landscape & some vague idea about what comes next.
October can not come fast enough. Aiden is not such a noner now is he. Although I think Aiden and Selly should have probably though more about how he didn’t die after a harpoon shot through his chest. That was a clear sign that Aiden was human. Now that his family is endanger he’s learning who he really is. The Ireland trip should be wild. Back to Pearly Cove this town was intense. A sea witch who’s a siren who’s daughter is a siren who Aiden used to date who eats men. Then you have an uncle who’s helping. Selly is learning more on how to use her magic to manipulate the water which distracts the sea witch. Then Aiden saves her. The town under a spell set by her grandmother another lunar witch and a sea witch.

I was disappointed by the second book in this series but this one ticked all the boxes! First a great setting, a little town on the coast side with people being unlikely joyful. A great myth is also tackled in the book: the siren. The mystery was good and keep us guessing even though I guessed who was the "monster" I still was shocked about the rest of it. Moreover, we also had witch content with the covent and it was nice to learn about Luna, Selene's grandmother. Selene learning to harness her powers was also interesting. Above all the romance was wonderful, I love Selene and Aiden's relationship so much. I'm much intrigued by the ending this would explain a lot of things I'll try to read the last book soon.
I am loving this series. To watch Aiden and Selene love evolved is so sweet. I love their teamwork and how they work through their issues is refreshing. They recognize when there's a problem and work it out. And the mysteries are so well written that I can never guess whodunit. I just love this series. But I never would've thought he was gonna pop the question. I had to take a moment. Mmm. Mmm good writing. Are we getting a Christmas story? A Christmas 2021 story. Please and thank you. Definitely keeps getting better and better.
Book 3 in the Paranormal Hunters series dis not disappoint. Aidan & Selene's story continues in the California coastal town of Pearl's Cove, where there is a truly interesting mix of characters, twists and turns you don't see coming, and an eagerness if wanting to know who/what done it.
I received this book as an ARC, and this is my honest review.
I love, love, love, this series. I cannot wait for the next installment. The characters, are lovable and relatable. And the story is fun. I love this series. I hope that this series continues.
I don’t know why but it took me a really long time to finish this book. I did enjoy the fact that I didn’t guess the villain(s) for this story but, I don’t know, maybe the sea witch backstory just wasn’t my cup of tea. I’ll still make sure to read the next book in the series though.
