good
**WARNING! CLIFFHANGER!** this one is the epic cliffhanger, everyone is in danger, life on the line type. Get the next book lined up!
This “box set” features three short books, and is approximately the size of a regular novel.
It tells the story of Fiona, a woman living in a post apocalyptic world, where a good portion of the population died during an event known as Ascension.
During ascension, people changed into supernaturals, and Fiona’s own ability, one that harnesses lightning, began.
In the first story: Fiona is thrown into the company of an ancient vampire, Connor, when she starts to look for her missing father.
In the second story: Fiona and Connor work together to try and stop the Alchemists, and the vision she had from coming true.
In the third story: set approximately seven months later, and after her training with the Fae, Fiona starts to investigate the circumstances behind three socialites going missing. It brings her back into Connor’s orbit, and into the path of a dangerous group.
Although fairly short, the books are good. The story is unique in its post-apocalyptic worldview, and while the characters are rather less unique, they are well written and often mysterious.
Fiona has had to weather some trying times, and being that they weren’t that long ago, it makes for some selfish decisions that are made in the heat of the moment.
Connor is considerably more mysterious, including all his motivations and reasons behind why he does things. By the end of the book, we have learned some, but not a lot of who he is.
It makes for a rather engrossing storyline, with lots of action, danger, and while at times you’ll be laughing, there are other times you’re shaking your head at the choices being made.
A good series, that actually benefits rather well from being read as a boxset!
Recommended for urban fantasy and post apocalyptic fantasy fans.

Sorry but intentionally short books
Sorry but intentionally short books with cliffhangers etc are not my thing….I thought a box set would be good, but the box set is just like one book.
Also the story:
Her mother is a piece of work- manipulating her entire life..
Her love interest-has so many girlfriends in his life it’s ridiculous
Everyone betrays her
The villains are cookie cutter crazy people
The books are too short to truly develope the characters - longer stories would’ve expanded the plot lines considerably

Now that is an awesome book. I do hope I get to find out more about some dreams she was having. So much to learn. Plus all the feels. I really love books that give me the feels!

Well written, with a great cast of characters. A unique story with humour and lots of exciting adventure. My only complaint is that it sometimes takes ages to move along
