The smart money woman is a fictional story set in Lagos, Nigeria with lots of important in personal finance lessons to teach. It tells the story of an African girl named Zuri who on the outside looks like she's financially successful but goes through a series of mishaps that help her realize she is in fact broke and needs to make better financial decisions. We follow Zuri on a journey that starts out with her being broke and navigates her way to building wealth and reaching for financial success.The book tackles, debt, spending, investing, the consumerist culture of the African middle class, the fear and misconceptions surrounding money and the lack of it, love, friendships, cultural and societal pressures and the role they play in success.

This is a generous three stars.
Arese attempts to teach money goals by telling us a story about Zuri, a Nigerian girl who loves the soft life but doesn’t have the funds for said life.
The story is where the book falls short, it just feels like the story was just made to follow set bullet points.
However it’s probably a good introduction for anyone looking to start managing their finance properly

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. From the advise, best practices and breakdowns after every chapter. This read really allowed me to shift my perspective on how I view money and treat my earned income. I hope to utilize some information given to continue to make smart money decisions. I am on the right path and this book helped to reaffirm that.

I highly recommend. I must say Arese did a great job to explain some concepts I was naive about, I am now well informed and I can’t wait utilize the financial knowledge i have acquired moving forward.

The storyline is blunt and boring to say the least. There are several grammatical errors, which is the major reason for my 3 star rating.

Though, there are good money management lessons within the boring story. I'd still recommend it to the average African Woman.
