I just don’t love you anymore, were the last words Colton Winters said to me before he walked away and stayed gone for five years. Imagine my surprise when I meet the Atlanta Fire’s new quarterback, and it’s the man who broke my heart.
Colton immediately starts his campaign to win me back, but I just don’t know if I can trust him not to run again, but the more time I spend with him—those feelings I’ve pushed aside return with a vengeance.
What’s a girl to do?
I knew I wanted Heidi Collins back the minute I was signed to play for the Fire, but the hurt she felt made me think I might never win her back. The only thing I can do is prove my love to her.
When it finally feels like we’re getting our happily ever after, our world implodes, and it throws our lives into complete chaos. Our relationship is put to the test. Are we strong enough to fight for our happy ending?
All I know is that we love each other more than anything and if we go down, It’ll be swinging.
A Midwesterner and self-proclaimed nerd, Evan has been an avid reader most of her life, but five years ago got bit by the writing bug, and it quickly became her addiction, passion and therapy. When the voices in her head give it a rest, she can always be found with her e-reader in her hand. Some of her favorites include, Shayla Black, Jaci Burton, Madeline Sheehan and Jamie Mcguire. Evan finds a lot of her inspiration in music, so if you see her wearing her headphones you know she means business and is in the zone.
During the day Evan works for a large homecare agency and at night she’s superwoman. She’s a wife to Jim and a mom to Ethan and Evan, a cook, a tutor, a friend and a writer. How does she do it? She’ll never tell.
I can't believe Evan Grace wrote this book! It was like she threw her first draft into Vellum and them pubbed it. There was an abuse of phrases like "...like a spider monkey" or " slapped the ground/pavement" and "I'll be back." Also there was so much running away! Heidi got upset--Heidi ran away. The whole story is based on the fact the hero basically RAN AWAY, too.
This book read like the flat, boring bullet point of an instruction manual--it was ALL TELLING. There was no depth, only surface information that someone could get if there were standing there watching it happen. There wasn't any emotion on the page.
This was a sad, disappointing production, Ms. Grace. Do better.
I love the Collins sisters, so I knew I’d be hooked on Heidi and her story. She and Colton had a lot between them, but that didn’t mean that they would just pick up where they left off. After all, Colton and his cruel farewell years ago made that all but impossible to do. But when he finally convinced Heidi to hear him out, things shifted. Sure, Heidi needed time, but Colton understood and accepted that. He just got incredibly lucky that she didn’t completely shut him out for good and that they were able to find their way again.
This book took a few unexpected turns, but I think that’s part of why I enjoyed it so much. I halfway expected one thing, only to be surprised by another instead. And I especially liked the struggles both Heidi and Colton endured along the way. They both made the mistake of bottling things up a couple of times, but then the adults in them took the wheel and made communication a reality to at least clear the air, if not fix things right away. This story felt realistic because of all that happened, which only has me wanting more of this series. And it helps that Colton truly turned out to be a good guy who never stopped loving Heidi, so I was 100% here for it!
What an amazing story I loved every minute of it. This story was full of sorrow, heartache, regret, health scares, and finally happiness. This is a story you start and can't put down.
Firsts things first; I love the cover of this book! Healed is the third book in the ‘’sugar and spice ink’’ series. I devoured this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Heidi and Colton were once high school sweethearts. They were sickeningly in love until Colton broke Heidi’s heart. Five years later and now a professional football player, Colton is back in town. When he runs into Heidi, he is determined to win his girl back but will she give him a second chance? When Colton broke Heidi’s heart, she went through something else heart-breaking. When a second chance arises with the man she loves, will she grab a hold of it? The chemistry between Colton and Heidi is clear to see and I liked them together. My heart hurt for Colton and Heidi when they faced one of the toughest challenges of their lives. I loved that Heidi was by Colton’s side and didn’t let him push her away. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series. I need Greta’s book now!
I thought Colton would have some lame excuse for breaking Heidi's heart, but I was wrong! He was facing the biggest fight of his life and put his own wants aside so that Heidi (he thought) would have a normal life. I felt so bad for him, but at the same time, I wanted to slap him. I wasn't sure how he could win Heidi back. Leave it to Evan Grace to make these characters so realistic. He did nothing over the top. There were no grand gestures. There was, however, sincerity and determination. Not everything was smooth sailing, but Colton and Heidi proved their love for one another was still there and they were mature enough to hand anything that came their way together.
This was a wonderful addition to the series. I love how each book is as much about their family dynamic as is it about the main characters and their journeys.
An emotional 2nd chance romance in the third book of the great Sugar and Spice, Ink series. Heidi the youngest sister of the Collins clan, had her heartbroken 5 years ago when her heart school sweetheart and star QB Colton ended their relationship without warning. Heidi's heart remains forever closed, what she wasn't expecting was for Colton to resurface with one focus, to win back the only girl he ever loved. But when the reason for the break-up is revealed it will take a lot of work and baby steps on Colton's part to prove to Heidi he is here to stay. There is no doubt that the chemistry remains strong between the couple, they now have to work on the trust side.
A smooth fairy tale this is not, it has a deeply emotional side that is beautifully played out over the course of Healed, one that will have you reaching for a tissue on more than one occasion.
Wow! What a roller coaster of emotions! It’s Heidi’s turn and we finally get a glimpse into what happened in her relationship with Colton and why it all fell apart. These two were high school sweethearts. They had their whole future planned and she thought they were both deeply in love...until he walked away. It’s five years later and he’s back in her life. He keeps trying to talk to her, to explain, to win her back. She was devastated when he left before, but those feeling have never gone away. She’s scared but they try again. Then the worst happens and it will be a battle to make sure they finally get their happy ending. A great read with a lot of emotions! Can’t wait for the rest of the series!!
Heidi thought the worst day of her life was when her childhood sweetheart Colton uttered the hurtful words “Heidi, I just don’t love you anymore. This is over.” however more heartache was in store for the youngest of the Collins sisters in the days that followed, but as the saying goes “That which does not kill us makes us stronger.” Time passes, and with Heidi joining forces alongside her sisters in their successful tattoo business, life moves on.
Five years down the road Heidi and Colton are reunited when they bump into one another at a party, after initially throwing his words back at him Heidi agrees to Coltons request for a chance to hear him out. When the reason behind those words Colton had uttered the day he broke Heidi’s heart are revealed, things shift between the pair, time heals all wounds and Colton’s relieved Hiedi’s given him the time to heal those wounds.
Secrets of sorts are revealed on both ends as Heidi and Colton navigate their way back into one another's lives, however an unexpected chain of events sees them both struggle and despite their history they both make the mistake of bottling things up, however it soon becomes clear they’ve learned from their past mistakes and amongst other things, communications the key.
Evan Grace has gifted us readers a beautifully written addition to what has become a much loved series, Healed is a story of a love lost and found again with heartache, sorrow and some mountains to be climbed in between until the main protagonists get the happiness they deserve. Readers are also teased with some snippets of what lies ahead when it comes to Greta Collins and her story which runs adjacent to Heidi and Coltons.
This is book 3 in a series and I adore this series so much. Its been a few years since a new book was out so I was so excited to read this story.
Before I start this review I feel I need to put a warning out there that this story has a connection to Cancer. If this is something you are sensitive about this is your warning. Its not a light read but it was an awesome story and one I absolutely adored.
Heidi is the youngest sister and she grew up with Colton who was her best friend. They planned a life together and to get married, until one day he announced he did not love her anymore and left town.
Now years later he is back and the first part of the story is him trying to get her to stay still so he can explain what happened. But he really hurt her, so I loved that she did not make it easy on him.
Colton....I did not love his reasons why but I did admire how hard he fights for Heidi and how deep his love for her is. These two were a really strong couple who really loved each other but also they were and are still pretty young so they do make mistakes but I love that they apologize and move on. This was a very inspirational story and very romantic. I really adored it so much.
I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I’m not sure about this read as I wasn’t feeling it as I did the previous two reads in the series. A second change romance between Colton and Heidi. Colton broke Heidi’s heart after he made the decision to end their relationship without letting her know why. They were high school sweethearts and instead of telling her the truth, he let her believe in a lie. A chance meeting five years later and the love was still there but so were their secrets. This book started off great but then it just felt off and although it was a sad and emotional read, I just wasn’t connecting to it. I must say the glimpse of Heidi and Colton in the previous read made me curious so I guess I am a bit disappointed because the book didn’t meet the expectation.
Evan Grace took my favorite series and kicked it up a notch....BAM!!!! Colton and Heidi's story was beautifully heartbreaking. So much happened. Colton handled his part very badly and left Heidi broken. And let's just say it was really hard for her to piece herself back together. When they see each other again after 5 years...Things explode and not in a good way. One god slap across the face and the roller coaster began
This was the first book from this author I have read, and unfortunately based off this one, I won’t be reading more.
I liked the blurb, it held my interest. The story starts off immediately, no build up just a full on BAM. And it carries on from there smoothly. Too smoothly. The characters are very two dimensional and felt flat. There’s no character development and no real depth to them or the story. They suffered heartache, they saw eachother after x amount of tears and then hit back together after very little conversation and then carries on almost like the past few years split never happened. Then there’s some drama that I had hoped would add some depth to it, but sadly again fell flat. And then it was all over. Almost like an unsatisfying piece of chocolate cake that has very little taste and is a bit stale but looked tasty in the shop. There’s somewhat a bit of confusion too which only adds to my disappointment. Such as the MMC is a quarterback… despite his past health. He’s getting back into football, does away games yada yada but then repeatedly the author talks about his patients… ?? What patients? I’m confused, is he a nfl star or is he a nurse? And then there’s the errors which some may not pick up on, such as the fast past labour that happens quick, and the doctors will want to induce next time. As someone who’s had a few kids, doctors tend to induce when labour doesn’t progress or hasn’t started within the safe time period or if there’s a medical issue needing early induction. If there is no health problems, labour is fast and easy, they wouldn’t look to do inductions next time.
If your looking for a fluff piece to fill a couple spare hours without getting too engrossed. Sure, this could be it. If you want more though, I’d skip it.
Healed is another heartwarming second chance story by the amazing Evan Grace that I devoured in very short order. Heidi & Colton were planning a future together when he broke her heart to tiny pieces, and she never got over him. Now, as far as I was concerned, despite knowing the reason for this heartbreak, I do feel like he could have found her a lot sooner instead of a chance meeting one night that sent her running away but that's just me. He's hoping that he can get her back but she's become a pro at avoiding him, so it takes a bit before he gets the chance to talk to her, of course, it doesn't go well. Luckily for Colton, Heidi has sisters who only want what's best for her so they talk again, and decide to make another go at it. Life can certainly be super mean, so there are new obstacles in their way, so this time, will it make or break them?! With heat, sweet, angst, and an amazing set of supporting characters, Healed was a beautiful second chance story that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Healed put my emotions through a blender but the author made sure to stitch it back together. This is my first experience with reading her books and I can say it won't be my last. It is about Colton Winters and Heidi Collins. Heidi runs a tattoo shop with her sisters and I loved that. Five years ago, Colton broke her heart, effectively running away. Now he is back as the Atlanta Fire's new quarterback and he wants Heidi back. I loved that she doesn't make it easy for him nor does she drag it out. This really pulled at my heart but in a realistic way. Life isn't easy and that's the goal the author seemed to have in mind. Every time it seemed they had things figured out and could be happy, another wrench gets thrown in. So this book kept me involved and completely engrossed. Ultimately, it was a beautiful journey that I enjoyed following along with. I look forward to reading the previous books and any that may follow. This is my honest opinion, freely given.
Healed by Evan Grace is the third book in the (Sugar And Spice series ) and the first book I have read by this author. It will definitely not be my last . From the moment I downloaded the book on my I pad and started reading, I was hooked . This is a must read , second chance romance . Colton and Heidi , their journey together was truly epic . I was not prepared for all the different emotions I was goof to feel while reading this amazing story .I literally felt every thing they felt . So many moments my heart broke and then others I was rooting for them so hard . This book has it all , love , laughter , tears , off the charts chemistry and so many steamy moments . I devoured it in a little less then 4 hours . I don’t have the right words to express how much I adored every minute of this wonderful book
This is the third book in this awesome series and is Colton and Heidi’s journey. Heidi was left heartbroken by Colton’s cruel words before he left town, and now she and her sisters run their successful tattoo business together. When these two cross paths at a party 5-years later Colton is determined to pursue Heidi and convince her to give them a second chance, but she understandably has trust issues, and they have unexpected issues to overcome along the way. This is a well written emotional roller coaster, with secrets, regret, trust, healing, communication, and love, which all leads to a heartwrenching and entertaining riveting page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Colton and Heidi Second chance love story. Very quick read-should have been longer. I didn’t feel invested in this relationship. I feel this story was so quick that it was just checking things off of a list & not really building and telling a story. ✔️ he returns and wants her back ✔️ he says sorry & she literally climbs him like a spider monkey ✔️ he gets sick again and again tries to push her away
One of my biggest issues with the storyline and their initial breakup.. 5 years they were apart. He said it was because he didn’t want her there when he was sick. He has been better for 2-3 years, so where was he? Why didn’t he come back then for her if he loved her so much??? And she never asked that question.
No groveling. No further discussions.

I love this series featuring kick a$$ sisters. Heidi’s book might be the third book released and she may be the baby in the family, but she is by far the strongest so far. Without going into too much detail in fear of giving away the storyline what Colton put her through as they were finishing high school would have been enough. Then after they reconciled there were times I was angry with him but my heart was breaking as well. It is such a gripping story with so many emotions. I know I will definitely have to have a reread in the future. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
[1.25 star] to be honest, so far i think the first book was the only decent one in the series because this book was truly disappointing. it was really lust-driven and the last 25-30% felt really rush like the author can't wait to end the book because she ran out of ideas what to write. additionally, everything is just telling and telling and more telling.
also, i was a little confused what the hero does? he is a part-time physical therapy assistant and he plays football but doesn't seem to play professionally in the NFL, is he playing in minor league or just playing for fun? did i miss the part where it was said what his occupation was?
This was another great addition to this series! Heidi and Colton have a past and not all of it is good. Things were said and they went their separate ways. Time has passed and Colton returns to her life and the sparks fly. While the chemistry is still there, both are hiding secrets. Their journey to happiness is filled with twists and turns. Will they get what each want or will outside forces knock them off their axis again? Looking forward to more of this extended family.
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done
This is a must read, second chance romance that is also my favorite of this series. I knew going into this story it would be terrific, but the emotional toll was something else. Colton and Heidi have the most epic journey ahead of them and you feel everything they are going through. Laughter, what the heck’s, and all the tears. Add and read this. Like I said…it’s the best of the series and one of my new favorites by this author.

So, Colton ran when life got hard and deliberately broke Heidi's heart in the process.
Five years later, he wants moves back and hopes to pick up where they were BEFORE he broke her heart, because he's ready to tell her why he ran now.
This time she's running.
I love a good second chance romance, but this one is not doing it for me. I don't like Heidi or Colton, and I haven't yet seen anything that makes me care about either of them.

This was a very emotional and sweet story that pulled at my heartstrings and made me feel. The journey is long but is good. "The fact that I’m in remission should make me happy, but it could still come back or show up. I still have to do treatments for another two fucking years. I’m just tired of puking all the time—I’m tired of being tired. Heidi is growing our son or daughter, and she’s constantly playing nursemaid for me."

This was a 2nd chance romance with lots of feels!! It made me tear up a few times, but the pain gave this story more of a realistic feel. Colton is sweet & alpha, but his protectiveness was so swoony. The forgiveness these two have to go through was well written & added so much likability to these characters. I recommend this book. Told in dual POV.
I like second chance books. The story between Colton and Heidi is so sweet sure everyone has issues with things that were done in the past. But if it's for a reason and it was there is a way two people can move past it. I was so happy with the whole story line. I don't want to spoil it. And all I can say is wow nailed it
Healed is a second chance love story between Heidi and Colton, high school sweethearts. I was ready to dislike Colton for leaving Heidi, but was completely unprepared for the heartbreaking reason behind him walking away. This was a terrific book, filled with heartbreak, forgiveness, and devotion. Heidi and Colton overcame so much and their HEA was certainly worth the journey.
Healed is book three in the Sugar and Spice, Ink and is Colton and Heidi's book. This book does have talk of cancer and pregnancy loss. If that is a trigger for you read with caution. This story is one of second chances that will make you need a box of tissues. This book was beautifully written and I just love these sisters so much. I can't wait to read more.
I love EG's writing, but I didn't care for this story as much as I expected to. I'm a lover of second chances but this one was a little boring, unless you're into running away...which is what these characters do repeatedly. I just didn't fall in love with the characters.
