Een mooi boek met alle sprookjes die iedereen zich wel herinnert van hun kindertijd. Met klassieke sprookjes zoals: hans en grietje, Roodkapje, de wolf en de zeven geitjes, Doornroosje of sneeuwwitje en de zeven dwergen maar ook minder bekende sprookjes zoals de kikkerkoning, de zes dienaren, de Chinese nachtegaal, de gouden stemvork, de Indische waterlelies, tafeltje dek je, de rode schoentjes, zwaantje kleef aan, de tuinman en de fakir, vrouw holle en de ganzenhoedster. Ook de illustraties waren prachtig en vol kleur. Zeker een aanrader als voorlees boek! De verhalen zijn niet te lang en makkelijk te lezen en te begrijpen.

Sprookjes van de Efteling is a book aimed towards children, and its main goal is to present a collection of the stories which all have a corresponding counterpart in amusement park the Efteling, in the shape of rides. Anton Pieck has provided the illustrations that go with every story, making it very suited to the Efteling indeed (as he was the main designer on the amusement park, the illustrations perfectly match the appearances of the rides in the park).

This storybook includes the following fairy tales, some conjured up especially for the book: the Frog Prince, Hansel and Gretel, the Six Servants, Little Red Riding Hood, the Chinese Nightingale, the Golden Tuning Fork, the Wolf and the Seven Young Kids, Sleeping Beauty, the Indian Water-lilies, the Wishing Table, the Red Shoes, the Golden Goose, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the Gardener and the Fakir, the Goose Girl, and Mother Hulda.

Martine Bijl has rewritten (or conceived, in some stories’ cases) all these famous fairy tales, and given them new form in this storybook of the Efteling. She does so with wit and humour, providing the reader with a solid storytelling book, though her writing isn’t particularly special. It’s suited to the main goal of the book, and her humorous lines are quite entertaining, but that’s about it.

I would recommend this first and foremost to fans of the Efteling, and of course to fairy tale and storybook lovers as well. It’s especially the gorgeous illustrations by Anton Pieck that make this storybook a real treat.

Ik ben dol op de Efteling en dol op het sprookjesbos en heb dit boek jaren geleden eens gekocht bij de Efteling. dit boek bevat 16 korte sprookjes die in het park zijn uitgebeeld en heeft mooie tekeningen die het sprookje versterken. erg genoten van dit sprookjesboek.

Als je een themapark van 72 ha hebt, dan kun je nog wel eens een sprookje over het hoofd zien.
Dus terwijl ik dit boek lees, hoor ik mezelf tweemaal hardop denken; waar staat dat sprookje dan in het park?
Ook stond ik er meer bij stil / open welke verhalen er achter de attracties zitten.
Volgende keer in de Efteling loop ik er met een hele andere mindset rond :)
