Ich schwanke zwischen drei und vier Sternen. Zu Beginn dachte ich, die Geschichte ist mir zu langweilig, aber die Story hat sich schon etwas entwickelt im ersten Band, und das Ende macht neugierig auf die Fortsetzung. Zudem lese ich einfach alles gerne, was mit Rätseln und Geheimnissen zu tun hat, daher trifft die Geschichte natürlich meinen Geschmack, auch wenn es hier noch recht einfache Schul-Rätsel sind, die gelöst werden wollen. Die Zeichnungen dazu sind sehr ansprechend und schön.

Not only I read this novel (though online translated), I also recommend everyone to watch the anime. It's intriguing, exciting, knowledgable and trust me you'd want more when it ends! Hotarou's character may annoy you at first, since he's not very sociable and, as I say it, rather lazy though he does not want to waste his time, he makes such a great friend and he has a broad knowledge making you wish to have such a friend.
Plus, Chitanda Eru, the female lead, is a very curious girl that makes her really lovable, someone even Hotarou can't avoid!

Hyoka es un manga basado en la novela de misterio de Honobu Yonezawa de una serie llamada "Club de literatura clásica (氷菓 Hyouka Kotenbu) acerca de un grupo de estudiantes de secundaria que investigan pequeños misterios cotidianos en su escuela (al menos en este primer volumen, bastante corto). Ha sido llevada al anime , y despues se realizó una pelicula (live-action).
El principal es un muchacho, Hotarou Oreki , que no desea que lo molesten, ir por la vida sin que lo perturben , pero se siente obligado por su hermana que continue su legado en la escuela no permitiendo que cierre el club de clásicos. Asi se ve en contra de su voluntad acudiendo a un salón donde encuentra a Eru Chitanda, y asi pasan el rato. Su amigo (Satoshi Fukube) parece divertirse haciendo uso de la mente racional de Oreki para descubrir cosas, y aunque se siente atraído en cierta manera por Chitanda esta tambien intrigado por saber que desea ella con él, porque una estudiante destacada de buena familia esta en este club solitario cuando hay muchísimos más en la escuela.
El paso es lento, y podria decirse hasta esos llamados misterios son bastante meh.

Hyouka is a light read for the teens. The story revolves around the protagonist Oreki Houtarou, who is an atypical lazy person. Because all the lazy people I know like to procrastinate, which he doesn't. He even has a motto for himself, "I don't do anything I don't have to. What I have to do, I do it quickly."
He leads a grey life, while his school mates lead rose coloured life. But that all changes when he receives a letter from his martial arts specialist sister, requesting him to join classics club. He meets Chitanda eru and her curiosity makes him come out of his comfort zone. He, Chitanda, fukube and mayaka forms classics club.
It is a very good read.

I love the anime that is why I started reading this light novel--curious, just like Chi-chan about what happened after the final episode in the anime. And just like the anime, I love this version. And I'm looking forward in reading the Volume 2 which is 'Why didn't She Ask Eba?'

Something about slice of life mysteries is just so cozy. Makes me wanna curl up in a warm blanket next to a fire pit with some hot chocolate in my hand. Charming and interesting, Hyouka managed to excite me for the next volume.

I watched the anime a few years back and really liked it. The manga is beautiful too and the stories sweet, innocent, yet intriguing. Absolutely loved it!

Eigentlich ist das ein sehr niedliches und vor allem auch ansprechendes Cover. Zu sehen sind hier die beiden Protagonisten Hotaro, wie er im Hintergrund steht und im Vordergrund Eru, welche von Hotaro argwöhnisch betrachtet wird. Das Ganze ist noch stimmungsvoll durch Kischblüten und die Schule in Hintergrund unterlegt. Das gefiel mir ganz gut, weshalb ich hier ohne lange zu überlegen zugegriffen habe.
Eigener Eindruck:
Hotaro ist ein sehr, sehr fauler Schüler. Er meidet Aufwand und er meidet eigentlich auch ganz gern andere Menschen. Als er einen Brief seiner Schwester erhält, die ihn bittet in die Klassik-AG einzutreten, weil sie sonst geschlossen wird, ist sich Hotaro sicher, dass er das einzige Mitglied sein und so seine Ruhe haben wird. Als er aber in den Raum der Klassik-AG kommt, trifft er dort auf das wissbegierige Mädchen Eru, welche in dem Raum eingeschlossen war. Als dann auch noch sein Kumpel Satoshi dazu kommt versuchen die drei herauszubekommen, wie es dazu kam, dass Eru eingeschlossen wurde. So ergibt es sich, dass auch Satosji dem Klassik-Club beitritt und die drei von nun an versuchen verschiedene Rätsel zu lösen, die ihnen in der Schule auffallen…
Klingt unspektakulär, ist unspektakulär. Die Geschichte um Hotaro, der einfach stinkenfaul ist, wird auch nicht spannender. Zumindest nicht in diesem ersten Teil. Irgendwie hatte ich mir mehr erhofft, als nur ein paar stumpfe Schulrätsel, die aufgedeckt werden müssen. Total öde. Hinzu kommt, dass der Charakter des Hotaro so stumpf ist, dass man ihn einfach nicht leiden mag. Er tritt allem und jedem mit einer Abneigung entgegen, die einfach nur abstoßend ist. Er versucht zwar immer sein Gesicht zu wahren, aber für mich ist er einfach ein homophobes Ekel. Eru hingegen ist so aufgeweckt, dass sie so süß ist, dass man fast einen Zuckerschock bekommen könnte. Trotzdem tut das aber nichts für die Geschichte zur Sache, denn die ist einfach nur fad. Die Zeichnungen retten den Manga dann wieder ein bisschen, weil sich der Mangaka mit der Gestaltung hier wirklich richtig viel Mühe gegeben hat und die Zeichnungen wirklich ganz hübsch anzuschauen sind. Aber das war es dann auch. Finito und Ende. Es gibt nichts weiter zu erzählen. Der Manga ist sicher Geschmackssache, aber ich möchte ihn einfach nicht weiter empfehlen, weil der wie gesagt so langweilig ist, dass man beim Lesen einschläft.

This book will suit those who enjoy a light mystery genre. I would say that the way the character approach a case is very calm, there is still some tension here and there but calmness would be the one to describe the plot.
According to what the writer stated, there are parts of the story that are based on a true story. And it is a thing that attracts me more to reading this novel. I think the story really highlighted people's perspectives. One might see it differently than how the other sees it. It also revolves around people’s color; it is said that if you are ‘gray’ means that you’re an average person, but if you look at it again, it could also mean you are a person who could see the ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ then are able to be objective in deciding the best choice

beli buku ini gara-gara liat shopee dan tertarik sama cover nya
cerita tentang klub sastra klasik yang mau bubar karena anggota nya pada pergi satu persatu, hotaro lalu diminta kakak nya untuk nyelamatkan klub tersebut dengan mengulik salah satu peristiwa kelam yang pernah terjadi di sekolah itu dengan melibatkan klub sastra klasik.
karakter mereka bagus, mereka punya usaha dan teori(?) sendiri untuk mecahin misteri itu. buku ini punya banyak seri tapi baru 1 seri yang saya baca

Dari review dan rating mungkin buku ini memang bagus tapi aku ga cocok sama narasinya, menurut aku terlalu boring dan membingungkan, udah sampe halaman tengan tapi belum ketemu apa yg dicari dan apa yang mau dicari
Mungkin karena aku jarang dan baru2 ini baca buku japan lit yah, kayanya itu mempengaruhi reviewku banget. Mungkin next time bakal aku re read buku ini biar aku find out maksud dari ceritanya

I decided to buy the book with a friend's recommendation. I also love the Bahasa Indonesia's edition cover design and the fact this book is not stand-alone. It would be very significant for my mystery collections. However, the development of characters and plot seemed so usual. It is easy to guess what the character would do next. I wish the mystery could be a little bit attractive or darker. Hence, I still want to buy the following books. I believe my review for the next book could change since I actually love how the writer creates the characters. It feels so balanced and cute for high school students' stories.

Buku ini menceritakan tentang misteri di kehidupan sekolah menengah. Secara simpel, mulai dari masalah sampai penyelesaiannya. Pemecahan masalah dapat dilakukan dengan nalar, walaupun mungkin berbeda dari segi budaya.
Bagi saya, buku ini cukup sebagai pengisi waktu luang namun tetap memaksa pikiran bekerja dengan keingintahuan.

I've watched the anime version before, so I more or less already know and memorize the story. But interestingly, I can still enjoy this novel, it's like watching the anime again. The part that I really like about this story is the ending which uncovers the mystery of the case of Chitanda's uncle, Sekitani Jun. The tragedies and mysteries are told so deeply and sadly that it makes me very Interested.

The light novel is written in a first person point of view yet the reader can perceive and know the supporting characters well.
It was fun reading since details that thought to be irrelevant is actually a part of the mystery. One must be attentive to notice it.
Hotaro is a protagonist who doesn't give his best in all aspect thinking that whatever he do, his sister will always best him. The same is true about Satoshi towards Hotaru but in different approach. The two female protagonists balance out the inferior thoughts of the two. It is just sad that Satoshi cannot see that Hotaro can solve the mysteries because of his knowledge about useless things, according to their words. Being a data base is actually amazing in different ways.
The mystery itself is interesting as they start to stitch all of their findings to find out the truth.
To end, I will never see ice cream the same again.

It was a great novel, the way Oreki resolve the misteries are awesome and the story is good, Chitanda is my favorite character.
But the best mystery of this novel was the one behind the meaning of Hyouka what that word means was really a surprise to me.
