Dark Witch: A Paranormal Fantasy Series

Rate this book
Fiona managed to save her town from demons. Now there’s a bounty on her head.

When Fiona consumed the demon king’s aether, she half expected that it would kill her. Now she’s stuck with Lord Balor’s dark energy ravaging her soul. Gabriel has left Mountain Shadow, and the town has been invaded by ghost hunters and the crew of a hit reality-TV show.

To make matters worse, Fiona’s fight at Busk Fest attracted the attention of the most powerful hunters in the Brotherhood. They’ve put a bounty on Fiona’s head, making her a target for freelance hunters.

When Balor’s aether drives Fiona to commit an unforgivable offense, any hope for a pardon from the Brotherhood is dashed. Gabriel is determined to save Fiona’s life, but defending a witch will force him to choose between Fiona and his own kind.

I loved the fact that we got to get into Gabe's POV, plus the remarkable twist at the end that in my opinion, marks the turning point of the series. Overall, I'm looking forward to reading the fifth book as both Elle and Holden evolve as characters here while we also got to meet Gabe's sometimes ally, Morgan.

War is definitely brewing and it looks like there will be at least four factions going at it here in Mountian Shadow, Colorado. Dark Witch has definitely set the stage for it, and given the actions of Gabe and Morgan, it shows that Fiona probably isn't the only person of interest among the supernaturals in the area.

If you're looking for the ultimate binge read in urban/paranormal/occult fantasy, Dark Witch and its three predecessors in Tarah Benner's Witches of Mountain Shadow Series is the way to go.

How much demon aether can one witch consume and survive? Fiona is the only one able to consume this strong of a demon, only she is having trouble expelling it. It is a living being inside of her causing her to act like someone she does not recognize. And to top it off, the Brotherhood now has a bounty on her life because of the whole Balor issue. This is a nicely paced addition picking up right where the last one left off with Fiona, Gabriel, Eleanor, some coven members, and a surprising new addition fight to rid Fiona of the demon and save her from the Hunters.

One of the best series I've read in a long time!

The only criticism is that it's over. Man this author is amazing at spinning a whole world and group of characters so well. Everyone grew and became their own people . It's been fun to see the drama unfold and enjoy this story. Highly recommend!

Wow, this was an awesome read! I loved this book. There was so much happening, but in a good way. Fiona came into her own as a witch in this installment and it was amazing to see her trust in herself to be a powerful, no-nonsense woman. The ending was perfect and I'm looking forward to reading book five!

I am flying through these books.
Seems like Fiona cannot catch a break - she has managed to save Mountain Shadow from the demons but that doesn't clean her slate in the eyes of the brotherhood.

This is an action packed paranormal story that had me eating up the chapters late into the night. Definitely worth investing in this series - the characters and plot do not disappoint.

I love Morgan! Also where can i find myself a Gabriel 😻

Oh and the heartbreaking moment when Fi finds Elle's body. I wanted to cry with her. I just hope that Elle is going to be okay in the next book.

I absolutely love this series and would recommend it to anyone. 🧡

Excellent addition

Writing reviews on individual books in a series is really difficult.  It's hard to come up with something new to say. What I can say is this, I love the books in this series and I'm definitely sticking around for what's to come.

Tarah writes great characters into her books. This series is a great break out for her into a completely different genre.

I still have questions.

Great characters both old and new. I did expect most of the plot twists but they snuck up on me.
