The Perversion of Normality: From the Marquis de Sade to Cyborgs

Rate this book
In 'The Perversion of Normality', with full and reliable documentation, Kerry Bolton examines the anti-life character of the ‘progressive’ era. While arising from an historical process, certain movements and ideologies have been deliberately constructed to take advantage of the West’s social decay to create a brave new world. Some people flourish amidst decay, and among those are a global oligarchy and the dysfunctional types the former promotes in the name of ‘human rights’, ‘social justice’, and ‘equality’. The main obstacles to their ‘new world order’ are what they call the ‘primary ties’: the traditional family bond, faith, homeland, culture and ethnicity. In order to eliminate these, there is a well-financed assault, using feminism, identity politics, transgenderism, population control, sexology, ‘human relations training’, ad infinitum. Of particular service have been the social sciences, including what is called ‘Cultural Marxism’.

Turning normality on its head, what was until recently regarded as aberrant is now the ‘new normal’. The final aim is to create a one-world state populated by ‘transhuman’, ‘postgender’ cybernetic drones in a scenario reminiscent of the most bizarre science-fiction film.

KERRY BOLTON holds doctorates in Historical Theology and Theology. He is a contributing writer for 'The Foreign Policy Journal', and a Fellow of the Academy of Social and Political Research in Greece. His papers and articles have been published by both scholarly and popular media, and his work has been translated into several languages. Arktos has also issued his books 'Revolution from Above' and 'Yockey: A Fascist Odyssey'.

From Sade (the french revolution) to today (post modernism) Bolton descibes at length how we got to the madness that is our present. Of course its the usual subjects behind it all, but to me, the tragic thing is how our own elites betrayed us. Bolton knows his subject well, theres just too much catholic church morality in it. We are all on the same side, but I dont think christianity is the answer, if you look at it the turn the other cheek and we are all gods children is an invitiation to all. There also seems to be a dislike for race betterment, which is one of the things that will save us. We are beyond christianity, we are the new men with a faustian spirit which searchs infinty for ever and everything, including god, with the wandering and wonder of a child.

Surely this was the most perspective shifting book I’ve read all year, and perhaps ever. I’ve been struggling to put together the pieces of critical theory and it’s influence on society since the early 19th century. This book brought it all to the forefront of my perspective and filled in the details. He fleshes out the influence of Freudian-Marxism in social science, the influence of figures like De Sade, Marcuse, Kinsey and Fromm. He clearly paints a picture of the machine that has been responsible for social engineering the west for over 100 years. The process of “shifting the dialogue” of culture in states ready to receive globalist perspective is genius, and amoral. This has long been underway through capitalist leviathans like Carnegie, Rockefeller, Soros who use their money to fund a vast network of NGOs who focus on socially engineering culture under the guise of social justice. Don’t get me wrong, some of these changes have been truly progressive and have helped free many individuals from oppression, but the ultimate aim of these gradual shifts has been the destruction of what Fromm called the “primary ties.” These critical human bonds include family, culture and history. He argued that once a human being was free from the primary ties that he could experience self actualization; making him free to act spontaneously in a space void of organic constraints, and thus be truly “free.”

These men were not secretive about their aims. Bolton clearly pieces together the aims and desires of these individuals from their own writings and shows how the influence of their genius is responsible for the many cultural shifts happening in our day. Before globalization can happen people need to be uprooted so that they can be instilled with the universal culture of this brave new world:

“In a perfectly open society none of the existing ties are final, and people’s relation to nation, family and their fellows depends entirely on their own decisions. Looking at the reverse side of the coin, this means that the permanence of social relationships has disappeared; the organic structure of society has disintegrated to the point where its atoms, the individuals, float around without any roots.”
— George Soros

Capitalism has been a miracle as well as a detriment to organic familial bonds. The atomization of the west through industrialization and the commodification of everything under the sun was something that even Marx predicted. This atomization was the slow process of weakening the social organism so that it would be susceptible to the pathogens of social engineering.

We can see the fruits of this social engineering in the postmodern dialogue of “you’re truth my truth.” If all is accepted and we are as our own gods, then nothing matters but our own whims. Paul’s words to the church couldn’t be more prescient:

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

-2nd Tim 4: 3-4

Seems to be a common thing that happens to people when they turn from the truth and embrace sin. We lose our identity, and who are we but clay to be molded by somebody else’s convictions.

Note about the author: he’s not perfect. He apparently found Jesus at some point but his wiki says he’s a white supremacist and anti-semite among other things. I was shocked. I had no such impression while reading this book. He holds multiple degrees in various fields one being theosophy, and has published a ton of scholarly writings. I found this to be one of the most reasonable and level headed political books that I’ve ever read and while it wasn’t perfect I’m not going rate it poorly because the dude isn’t a saint.

Also a quick note about propaganda. It is absolutely necessary for countries and governments to lie to their populace. You may think it amoral but it is a necessity. You can’t broadcast sensitive information like military movements over CNN because guess who else is watching? Every other intel agency on the planet. MILDEC is a thing for a reason and most of the time the job of the legacy media is to keep the populace functioning by helping them avoid hysterics. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing in the Information Age. My point is these giant corporations function in the same way. This is what PR departments do. They won’t just allow some guy to out them without their legacies potentially crumbling to the earth; so when you see terms like “white supremacist” or “anti-Semite” just be mindful of you’re own reactions to these words. It’s called a Pavlovian reflex and it’s a tool used by propagandists to keep people away from ideas and things that they don’t want people knowing about. It’s especially prevalent in democracies. Idk maybe this guy is crazy! All I know is that this book was awesome 10/10.

Was notified of this book some time ago by way of Andrew Joyce’s review on Ron Unz’s website.

It’s a great resource for reference, as it gives an overview of the various different factions of the anti-life left, which now dominates mainstream discourse in the west. For example, it creates a framework through which one can compartmentalize the different forces attacking family, homeland and faith as ‘repressive’ primary ties, much of such thought rooted in the Frankfurt School and, therefore, Jewish grievances about the holocaust.

Bolton opens up his analysis by demonstrating how this has occurred through a bizarre mishmash of Freud and Marx - the Freudian angle being repression and the Marxist infusion being tied to oppression - and how ‘primary ties’ need to be dismantled (according to the critical theorists) in order for the chains of oppression to be broken.

I’d say this book is a good accompaniment to sources such as EMJ’s the ‘Jewish Revolutionary Spirit’ and K Mac’s ‘Culture of Critique’. The latter is referenced by Bolton:

‘“This Jewish factor is significant and has been commented on by Jewish scholars. Yet when a Gentile scholar, Dr. Kevin MacDonald, an extensively experienced psychologist from California State University (Long Beach), examined Jewish involvement in Critical Theory and other subversive movements as a survival mechanism, he was vilified as an ‘anti-Semite’ and his conclusions and sources were brought into question with the standard ad hominem and straw man arguments.”

The struggle we face in the west is complex, but Bolton does a great job in highlighting the many entangled issues, which characterize our current predicament. In my opinion, the text is a great springboard and should be used in order to open avenues into deeper exploration for thought and research.

As a loyal reader of Dr Bolton, if there is any of his books that should be considered his Magnum Opus (at least until now) it should be this one.

By far the biggest and the most heavily sourced, Bolton delivers a superb analysis of the progressive ideology and how it developed.

For Bolton's books about the subject, I suggest you read Revolution from Above first, then Babel Inc, then Tyranny of Human Rights, and after that you can tackle this one, it is basically the climax of his research.

An exemplar of conspiracy and an exposé of the thought processes behind the utopian political vision and force that ultimately works to undermine all that humanity is by perverting normality, especially those that champion and sponsor it from the very top. With quotes throughout, the words of the purveyors themselves are used to show their hands.

Very, very disturbing overview of "progressive" ideas starting from seeds planted during [in my opinion greatest smoke screen and scam ever] French Revolution, societal shaking movements culminating with Marx and Engels and today's post-human sciences and activist's.

In the background there is a group of people who decide that they know best for entire humankind and decide to perform social experiments under the guidance of the government. Of course field of experimentation are developed countries and so the story of last 100 years of quack social sciences begin. Only problem - all these "experts" translate their own anxiety and experiences and generalize them to create societal view that suits them.

I think that in future, if we ever get to that point, amalgamation of social sciences with engineering will be marked as greatest crime against humankind, if not against the nature in general.

Why you may ask? Well, these "thinkers" I mentioned above went the way of physicists - they went towards ever deconstructing the society. While physicists aim to know building blocks of the world, "thinkers" deconstruct in ever present search for conflict, for ways to divide the very people they want to help. Is there any foresight involved here? I hope not because this would mean evil intentions from the very start. For me this is just way of justifying ones position in the world by constantly saying "but hey, work is not over, we have yet to solve this and this and this" etc. etc. etc. Only problem is their talk and views aligned with political and economical goals of true powers in the world and we entered the major sh*t-storm period of humankind. Scientific-wanna-bees were given free reign over the vast populaces and they started carving them to fit their vision. And they did it with gusto.

Basically for all means and purposes they play the role of arsonist working as fireman - constant struggle, constant strife. Because without this they would finish their tasks and [imagine that beautiful thing] be left without any actual work [and escapes from their families I guess, considering majority of them are/were all married and with kids but have very antagonistic view on the marriage and family].

And so, basing their works on their interpretation of other people (especially Freud, who I think would jump out of grave if he knew how his theories are interpreted) we are given an overview of nihilistic down-spiral with aim of something very interesting, something that should not be the goal of all these social changers - total dehumanization [of part of society, not everyone mind you, elites will remain elites].

And their society - free from oppression of any kind but with a little caveat..... in order to survive it requires its own repression mechanism, you know of that special, humanistic, kind - state wont liquidate you [immediately], oh no.... they will declare you crazy and if you do not comply you wont be able to go anywhere and do anything, like have a job and be able to live, and at the end you just might join the drooling group that had their frontal cortex hammered out. But it is for your good. Amazing, right? Beautiful world, I am sure everyone just wants to jump on the bandwagon.

Heh..... no.

And worst thing - these are all ideals, statements without actual scientific research. Everything sounds OK in the short run but what about the long run? Nobody thinks about it. And who will be there to try solving issues (if they dare go against the cultivated maniacal mainstream mouth-pieces)? Not these guys, oh no. If any of them is alive at the time they will just say - oh, but we thought.... Sounds like current talk about last two years, doesn't it?

While glorifying emotions, inner feelings and basest instincts (worst of which is changing views on pedophilia and bestiality as something normal, which is horrific) isn't it interesting that nobody (and I mean nobody) is coming back and saying - hey, wait a minute wasn't science about ratio - thinking and solving issues in a rational way? Unfortunately it does not happen because everyone is afraid to say anything against the def-facto dogma (greatest paradox of this super free world these "thinkers" want to create).

I wont go into details on eugenics, populace control and making them a condition with the state level credits and help from international financial institutions. If this does not ring the alarm I am not sure anything will.

Background for all of this? Because quacks on their own cannot survive - right? Well, you would not believe but series of same names, families, organizations and foundations pop up from end of 19th century to this day. Who are they you may ask? Financial leaders of the West, interested in the economical use of the entire social engineering circus. What is better for business than having mass moving around and working for their companies because they have to (ah, the fruits of absolute freedoms) and then get moved to another company in the chain if ordered so.

Not people, who want to settle and build something. No. Goal is mass, nomadic mass, walkers without base, without roots, drones trained to do just one thing, same activity that will be guaranteed to their children (or clones) because they wont be able to move to anything else due to classification of their roles. No family, no relations, just work and eternal journey around the world from one workplace to another following the masters' commands. What a beautiful rich life ain't it. But at least they'll have option for fruitless shagging their brains out, because, hey, constant shagging is what life is for - right?

And coup de grace - mechanical implants. Not for help but because it is trendy. Because hey it is very important to have GPU units in your brain because you everyday evade multiple jet fighters while conducting 11g maneuvers or targeting multiple incoming missiles. Right? And once you are into this, there will be service subscriptions that are mandatory and then upgrades (which today is happening with automobile industry). Imagine situation where some company says to you - I am sorry but we cannot upgrade you because of this and this reason - and you just like that cannot continue with your work. No family, nobody to talk with and now without work and means to live. Beautiful future awaits people in this situation doesn't it?

Essentially all of these [lets call them] trans-humanists are celebrating period in time when workers were a little bit above slaves and dependent on the company directors for the very survival only now they are without immediate and extended family and society in general (aka society class). And lets be honest we would not be here if it weren't for family and society support - without these elements there would be no revolutions, no betterment of conditions and workers would still live in slave-like conditions. And masters/directors/CEOs? Nothing changed for them in all these 100+ years, nothing will ever change. They are the elites [need to throw up].

I hope you see the pattern here.

Thankfully, opposition to these idiotic ideas will always be present and this gives hope. Maybe at one point we will reach level of understanding that biology and not economics are the basis of our life and will exit this vicious cycle (because nothing discussed about this is unique - all these sexual freedoms existed in Antiquity, including population control (imagine stopping sex for at least 9 months, man!) and .... lets say it did not end good for them, but man they had sex of their lives over and over again, and that is the only thing that counts, right? - it is present since there is recorded history and since there is people, only technical means change).

Until then, pave the way, read and investigate on your own and when you see/hear degrading words like "fascist", "nazi", "reactionary" etc. give it a pause and investigate it from multiple angles, it might be true, it might be not. It takes time, it might be boring but that is the way ratio works - analyze. In any case it is better than allowing shallowness and laziness/dogma to rule your life.

All revolutions (be it religious or scientific, even including this trans-humanist one) start with goal of betterment of society. Problem is when they fail with general populace but gain the assistance of powers-to-be that see their own profits in proposed changes - this is when dogmas and rule-by-terror enter the scene. If nothing is done at this point society will definitely encounter large difficulties.

This book is quite a food for thought. Weren't it for last two years I would definitely have different experience reading it.

Highly recommended.
