A beautiful printing of two lectures given by Stanley Morison, one of the twentieth century's great typographers and an expert on the history of the book arts. One lecture was delivered to the Royal College of Art, Edinburgh on February 17, 1944 and the other to the British Academy, London, on November 17, 1937. For this publication there are a number of cogent illustrations and extensive notes. A fine tribute to a great advocate and leading lights of the fine printed book.
