This one is different It's scientific and psychological and talks about futur Written in the sixties about a scientific experiment that people in the futur will rely on to detect any signs of criminal activities or criminal feelings before it happens Means if anyone has any pecentage to become a criminal they will take him to asylum to try to "fix him" before any harm happens
"The Test" by Theodore Thomas is a thought-provoking short story that explores the psychological aspects of a futuristic test designed to predict future crimes. The protagonist, a man involved in a car accident, is subjected to the test and must confront the potential for future murders that it reveals.
The story reaches its peak when the protagonist is faced with the results of the test and must grapple with the moral implications of his actions. The test itself is reminiscent of the precognitive abilities depicted in the film "Minority Report," and the story raises interesting questions about the potential consequences of such a technology.
Ultimately, the protagonist's response to the car accident and the test serves as a commentary on the potential for redemption and the power of choice. The story ends with the protagonist being taken away after waking up, leaving the reader to ponder the ultimate outcome of his fate.
I read this novel twice and watched numerous video summaries of the plot, but I still don't understand it completely. I'm unable to give this a rating right now; perhaps I'm too immature to understand it.
This was a great short story to read after The Test by Sylvain Neuvel which has a similar plot line. Both are interesting looks on how government testing could evolve in the future.
