Southern Bride #4

De Buenas en el amor

Rate this book
When it comes to luck, I’m on the wrong end of the good side with more mishaps than I care to remember. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a happy guy: single, decent looking, wealthy, with a waiting list of people who want me to make their kid’s dreams come true with my custom-designed playhouses.

My life was exactly how I wanted it to be. That is, until Saryn Night walked back into my life with the intention of firing me. Good luck with that. One strong-headed, opinionated woman with a three-year-old little girl had turned my world upside down within five minutes. The moment they stormed into my office — bright blue eyes, curly brown hair, and a smile that would make any man fall to his knees, and that was just the daughter — I knew I was in for one wild ride that was guaranteed to turn my luck completely around.

Now, for once in my life, I found myself thinking that maybe, just maybe, I could finally be Lucky in Love.

Truitt is so accident prone that he ends up in ER so many times that his brother and friends places bet among each other on his next injury. Oh his new is not to spare for his dog is accident prone too. Truitts personality is somewhere between endearing and klutz in an atrractive way. You'll like him so much.

Saryn returns back to her hometown fresh out of divorce with an adorable 3 year old daughter, Liliana. Before she knows it she is face to face with her childhood crush.

Miscommunication and ourside involvement has separated Truitt and Saryn but this time a little meddling parent brings them together. The story takes time to build their relationship. Told in dual POV's the books sense was emotional and delightful. Jack, Paul, Pete, Roger and Saryn's parents are the best entertaining secondary characters I've enjoyed in awhile. This book is a mood-lift-up read.

"What did you say you think you broke?"

“His dick. Is it even possible to break a dick?”

Trust me you'll be looking up to the next accident that happens and it's super amusing. Poor Truitt for laughing at his expence. 😛

“No woman had ever won my heart before, and Liliana could now claim to have taken it straight from me without so much of a blink of her eyes.”

“One kiss and my body felt like it was tumbling over an edge, and nothing would ever be the same again.”

“The woman I’ve been waiting for was off on another journey, but I think she’s on the right path now.”

“You don’t stumble onto true love. You build it, master it. Help it grow.”

Lucky in Love is the fourth book in the Southern Brides Series and it follows the story of Truitt and Saryn. Truitt has always had a bit of bad luck. He is more accident prone than a young child. He ends up in the ER so many times that his friends and family take bets on what injury he will get next. The one place that he’s not unlucky is his job. He creates playhouses for kids that are wilder than their imaginations….Fresh off her divorce, Saryn returns to her hometown in search of a fresh start for herself and her 3 year old daughter, Liliana. She wasn’t looking for love, but when the boy she used to have a crush on, blows into her life, her world is once again turned upside down. Luck hasn’t always been on Saryn and Truitt’s side, but maybe, just maybe fate will finally be on their side and will turn their bad luck into some much needed good….

Lucky in Love is a total breath of fresh air. I think I fell in love with Truitt almost instantly. Sure he’s accident prone and ends up in the ER far too many times, but he is the sweetest guy with a heart of gold. He’s never been in a serious relationship because his heart has always belonged to someone else. And when Saryn returns home, he might finally get his chance with the girl of his dreams….Speaking of Saryn, I liked her a lot. She had her heartbroken, but got a beautiful little girl out of it. She was brave to return to her hometown and start over fresh. She wasn’t looking at all for love, but when she reconnects with Truitt, all bets are off. Their chemistry is undeniable and you could tell right away these two were meant to be. But, what I liked the most was that Truitt took the time to get to know Liliana. Liliana was too cute for words and I loved the relationship that Truitt built with her.

Lucky in Love is a sweet, second chance romance that will give you all the feels and leave you with the smile on your face. The characters are real and entertaining. Sayrn & Truitt’s families were amazing. I loved how real they were with each other, their support and love. They were the kind of families that everyone would want to have in their corners.

Lucky in Love is a great addition to the Southern Bride Series. This story is filled with heart, romance, family and second chances. With the perfect mix of romance and drama, Lucky in Love is a great story to spend your day getting lost in.

Muss unbedingt mehr von ihr lesen. Super geschrieben. Tolle Protas. Fand ich too much.

5 Star Review Lucky In Love (Southern Bride #4) by Kelly Elliott

I know when I read a Kelly Elliott book that it will be well written with characters that you cannot help but become invested in and Lucky in Love was no exception; I simply couldn’t put it down. In fact this may well be my favourite in the Southern Bride series.

I fell hard and fast for Truitt Carter, Saryn Night and an adorable little three year old called Liliana. They have history, Truitt has always had a crush on his best friend’s little sister Saryn, not knowing she felt the same way but thanks to miss communication they parted ways years ago. Now here she is back in his life trying to turn it upside down.

From the beginning you know that Truitt and Saryn belong together, there were so many swoon worthy and laugh out loud moments Truitts accident prone issues had me in stitches at times) reading this story that I felt like I had a permanent smile on my face.

The relationship he forges with Liliana melted my heart. The intense chemistry that sizzles between Truitt and Saryn was impossible to resist. I loved this couple and the friends and family that surround them made this a fabulous and entertaining read.

Well Kelly Elliott has done it again….she gave us another wonderful story with Lucky In Love. This is kind of a second chance romance but not in the normal sense.

I will say this book had me laughing more than any of the other. The way this book starts off and how often Truitt gets injured was entertaining. No someone getting hurt is not entertaining but once you read this book, you’ll understand what I am saying.

Lucky In Love is the 4th book in the Southern Bride series. It is a complete standalone and this series can be read in any order. Just like all the books in this series, this book was an emotional and angst filled story. I thought the flow and pace of the story worked well. This is told in Dual POV. My only complaint was that I didn’t like the behavior of Truitt and Saryn in the beginning of the book…I didn’t think it was needed. But it didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the story.

This story is about Truitt, Saryn and Liliana. Like I said this is kind of a second chance romance….more like unrequited romance. Truitt and Saryn both had feelings for each other back in high school but because of some miss communication and interference by other people, they went years without saying anything to each other. I thought this storyline was great and entertaining, I even loved the twist that came towards the end.

I loved all the secondary characters in this story ( all except for that one Kelly puts in there for her readers to hate….) Liliana was adorable and I fell in love with her right from the start.

If you love Kelly Elliott’s books , you don’t want to miss this book. Actually you don’t want to miss this whole series. If you love a small town romance that have characters who will melt you heart, then these are the books to read!!!!

5 He’s Their Prince Charming Stars!!!

Move over Josh and Heather, I have a new favorite Kelly Elliott couple!!! If you’re shocked reading those words imagine how shocked I am writing them!! I never thought I’d find a Kelly Elliott couple that I loved more than those two, but Truitt and Saryn have pushed them out of first place!!

Saryn and her beautiful little girl Liliana have moved home to their small Texas town after a divorce that had me wanting throat punch her ex and before she knows it, she’s face to face with her high school crush and the pull she had for Truitt is still there and much stronger than when they were younger…..
“My heart felt like it jumped in my chest at the sound of that voice. Oh, Saryn. You are in so much trouble.”
And this is the beginning of how Truitt and Saryn finally become the couple they’ve always been destined to become. But as you might expect, it’s not an easy transition. Things have changed in both their lives and now Saryn has Liliana to think of. But if her mom has anything to say about it, it’s going to happen as soon as possible… I love a meddling mother, just adds a whole different layer to the story.

The connection that our H/h have is undeniable. There are so many moments when they just connect, whether it’s during one of Truitt’s many visits to the ER… I thought I was a klutz, this man has me beat!! Or when Truitt is interacting with Liliana, I was swooning all over the place. This little girl has him wrapped all the way around her little finger and it’s so dang adorable the way he is with her.

When our couple admit their attraction and do something about it, their passion is intense but also gentle and sexy and loving. Saryn gets to experience what being loved by man is supposed to be and Truitt takes his time and with that revealing how he really feels for this woman. And while they’ve known each other most of their lives, this new aspect of their friendship leads to the love they’ve both always wanted.

When you add in the little twist that explains so many things that had me saying “No Way!” then this book is everything I love about a Kelly Elliott book and once you read it you’ll understand my love for this couple and their family.

Kelly Elliott’s Southern Bride series is the kind of heartwarming romance stories that readers love and because of the small-town setting and the amazing cast of primary and secondary characters, each book leaves a lasting impression about love, life, and the importance of family and second chances.

Lucky in Love, book four in the series, has a second chance romance feel to it because the hero and heroine share a past, one that they were both hoping would lead to something more, but ultimately, due to miscommunication and outside interference never happened, but now that Saryn Night and Truitt Carter are back in each other’s lives, five years later, they must just get things right this time, but only if they get out of their own way.

What I love most about how Elliott crafted Truitt’s personality is that his imperfections, his clumsiness are endearing and he truly is a stand up guy. There are such sweet and heartfelt moments that illustrate exactly how much love Truitt has to give to the two beautiful girls in his life.

Saryn is an amazing mom and Elliott does a great job illustrating the difficulties of being a single parent, working through her divorce, and being everything she needs to be, to not only her daughter, but also to herself.

The fact that Saryn and Truitt’s story is titled Lucky in Love is a bit of a paradoxical phrase, not only because Saryn’s first marriage ended in divorce but also because luck didn’t seem to be on their side when they were younger and crushing on each other. But maybe luck is exactly what brings these two back together and provides them an opportunity to finally get things right, to revel in their love for each other and for the most precious little girl in the world.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “You don’t stumble onto true love. You build it, master it. Help it grow.”✨
.
What you can expect:
✔️Small Town Romance
✔️Second Chances
✔️Humour & Banter
✔️Single Mom
✔️Dual POV
.
Truitt has bad luck, despite having everything going for him. Including building custom children’s playhouses. Life changes when Saryn walks back into his life intending to fire him, with her 3 year old daughter in toe. He knew his luck was finally going to change. Maybe he could finally be Lucky in Love.✨
.
This was such a sweet story. Full of hilarious banter and entertaining situations. I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy it at first- it has quite the opener. But once I got the feel for the storyline I quite enjoyed the humour of Truitt’s accidents. Truitt and Saryn’s relationship is one of second chances and takes its time to develop. Truitt has a heart of gold. So patient with Saryn, who isn’t looking for love after ending a horrible marriage. But their long long attraction is impossible to ignore. And that Lilliana stole the show while she melted Truitt’s heart.✨
.
This read was a breath of fresh air. Fun and sweet. With some great fun, and amazing family dynamics. Another great read by this author who’s quickly becoming a favourite!✨

Kelly only went and did it again!!!

I'm finding it really hard to say which of her books is my favourite because she keeps releasing new books and I end up falling in love with each one.

I seriously loved Truitt & Saryn's story so much. These two and Liliana have stolen my heart.

I started the first chapter and omg I was laughing so much. I just knew I was going to love the whole story.

Truitt has always had a crush on Saryn but he didn't want to do anything because she was his best friends little sister.

When he finally decides to do something about it something happens and he loses her. Her never knowing how he really felt about her.

Saryn always had a crush on Truitt. But after she's told something it crushes her and she keeps her feelings about him to herself.

Some years later Saryn is moving back to her hometown with her little girl Liliana(such a cutie pie) after her marriage failed....

This whole book made me laugh out loud because of Truitt being accident prone haha, swoon over how sweet Truitt was with Liliana, cry because it was how happy I got a certain parts of the story and damn those hand on the heart moments because they were so so sweet.

Well done Kelly on another amazing read xx

Lucky in Love is my FAVORITE book in the Southern Bride series. Prepare to SWOON ladies!!! I can't remember the last book I've swooned and sighed this hard....the good sighs, the ones that take your breath away as the butterflies take flight in your tummy. Truitt and Saryn's story is true romance perfection!! Kelly Elliott has outdone herself with this one.

Truitt Carter *fans self*...this man...they don't make men like this, he's a dream come true, I fell hook line and sinker for this man. A true gentleman, a little dirty talker, and the sweetest man to a little girl that will MELT YOU! Nothing beats a strapping gentleman holding hands, watching Frozen with the cutest 3 year old. My ovaries were exploding, I melted in my chair, Lilliana and Truitt together was like rainbows after the rainstorm, the best thing I've read in a long time! Saryn and Truitt together captured my heart instantly. Their chemistry was throwing sparks all over the pages, everyone could see it, neither Saryn or Truitt could resist their attraction.

Kelly Elliott lit up my life with Lucky in Love, I haven't felt this elated after reading a book is so long. This was the breath of fresh air I've been needing. Don't miss Truitt and Saryn!

Lucky in Love (Southern Bride, #4) by Kelly Elliott was a great way to start 2021. A kind of miss first chance, second chance romance.

Saryn is back home with her daughter after divorcing her ex who also relinquished rights to his daughter. Back home she has runs ins with her childhood crush Truitt. It seems Truitt also had a crush on her, only not acted upon when she accepted a date with the man who became her husband.

When her parents hire the clumsy loveable, good guy Truitt to build a mega playhouse for Liliana it throws the two together. His clumsiness lends to many LOL moments. Particularly in the first chapter. OMG his injury and the interacting with his brother and friends had me in stitches.

The romantic build up is palpable, the interaction between Truitt and Saryn and him and Liliana are palpable. This is such a well written book with great, deep, characters who make the story become alive on the page or in my case on my tablet!

I don’t even know where to start with this. Lucky in Love was amazing from the start. I DEVOURED this book.

Truitt, I love him. The man is accident prone and I swear he is my spirit animal in that sense. He’s a playhouse building and an amazing at that. He is super swoon worthy and the way he is with kids *insert heart eyes emoji here*. Saryn is a single mother. She loves her daughter more than anything and you can feel that love. The chemistry between there from the start, but there is some tension in the beginning. Lilliana, Saryn’s adorable three year old daughter, completely melts your heart. She is the sweetest thing ever and when it comes to Truitt, I just can’t. It is adorable.
This story is super sweet, emotional, steamy and there is a little twist towards the end that will have you on your toes.

I completely fell in love with this story and these characters from the start. Lucky in Love quickly became my favorite book in this series. It is beautifully written and all the characters are completely loveable….well minus one but it’s a well deserved dislike.

Lucky in Love is a MUST READ!

4.5-stars!

Lucky in Love by Kelly Elliott is the fourth book in her Southern Bride standalone series and I loved it. Truitt, Saryn and Liliana were such great characters. Truitt was charming, sexy and sweet. Truitt’s ER escapades had me laughing out loud. Saryn is fresh out of a divorce and not looking for love again. She and her daughter are starting over. But when she runs into her old high school crush, she may not have a choice.

I loved their chemistry, their back and forth and seeing Truitt with Liliana. They shared feelings for each other back in high school, but miscommunications let them in different directions. Can they finally find their way to each other now? Such a sweet and charming story and one I recommend.

Omg this was so good and so funny!!! What was not to love!! Truitt and Saryn were everything and more and her 3 year old daughter was the icing on the cake. These two had a thing for each other growing up BUT they never told each other. Fast forward several years and she returns after a messy marriage. She’s not ready for a relationship and he’s not ready to settle down but all of that changes when they see each other. They danced around their feelings until they finally put it in the open. They had fun banters and Truitt was so accident prone that it was hilarious. Her 3 year old was adorable and adored Truitt. It was such a good read it did have a major secret revealed that made me gasp for a minute but nothing to take away from the amazing read. Throw in Truitt brother, Saryn brother and his other best friends and it’s a very fun read. The epilogue?! Hilarious!!! Typical them.

I have adored each and every Southern Bride books but I have to say, I think this one is my favorite! (Sorry Chloe and Rip!) But there is just something about Saryn and Trinity that stole my heart from the beginning and of course we can’t forget sweet Lilianna. These days I’m a sucker for a child in a book and o have to tell you, Lilianna just sweetens these two’s story even more. And I’ll tell you, I read a lot and I’ve never read a book where someone had Truitt’s job and I loved it. As you can see I loved everything about this book. It’s one of Ms. Elliott’s best work yet. I loved it almost as much as the Wanted series and that’s saying something! But no for real, one click now! What are you waiting for?!?

description

description

Luck in Love is the fourth title in the Southern Brides series, but can easily be read as a standalone. Each of the titles in this series feature common themes rather than characters. Whilst heartwarming and humorous, this sweet, feel good read still has an element of angst and is quite emotional.

Truitt is a kind, caring, klutz of a man. He suffers so many unfortunate accidents, you can’t help but laugh. His relationship and interactions with Liliana, Saryn’s young daughter will melt your heart.

Saryn is a sweet and kind single mother, coming to terms with living back in the small town she thought she wanted to escape.

Truitt is Saryn’s older brother’s best friends and they had feelings for each other as teens that they both thought were not reciprocated. Misunderstandings, miscommunications and interference from others made for an intriguing storyline. The chemistry they share is intense and undeniable.

I will be honest and say at the beginning of the book I struggled to connect with this pair of characters due to their choices and actions, but by the end I was completely loving this duo.

I look forward to seeing what Kelly Elliott will be writing next.

Thank you to Kelly for providing me with an ARC in which I am once again honoured and thrilled to be reviewing. And for the chance to share another read review from my favourite author, I hope more people fall for your writing as I did years ago.

In this book, the fourth in the Southern Bride Series, we get to meet Truitt Carter and Saryn Night. Two new characters in this next standalone in the series. Immediately their introduction is refreshing, as it is always a pleasure to get to know characters for the first time, as if getting to know a new friend.

Initially what drew me in to reading this book, aside from the blurb, cover and other books within the Southern Brides Series, was Kelly’s Facebook live read of the first two chapters. Deeply invested in Kelly’s books as I am, I am always going to give her books a read, but at an early hour of my time here in the UK, I was in stitches and one hundred percent sure I would love the book in its entirety.

Then from the very first page, Lucky in Love promises belly laughs that will have you doubled over and in stitches. These moments are dotted throughout and are one of the many enticing features of the book. I found these moments extremely enjoyable, and cannot thank Kelly enough for adding such humour into the book.

Now, diving into what exactly makes Lucky in Love so enthralling, I would of course say everything. As that is very true. Though allow me to touch upon the key focus points which make it so. First of course is the humour mentioned above. Out of all of Kelly’s books, this has been the funniest one to date. Second, the realistic nature of the plot and characters. This isn’t just a story which is a continuation from the ones previous in the series, it is not generic in the plots of southern romance, that is a great element of realism here you can identify with either the characters or the plot, which is something woven into every single Kelly Elliott book which hooks me in deeper to the story every time.

Rather pleasingly, the balance of intimacy to the rest of the storyline was well done. In some books, reading intimate scenes becomes a dime a dozen. Predictable, monotone, similar. Not here. The story compliments the times the two characters are ready to share themselves, and vice versa. The whole overall melting together of the two created a well-balanced, wholesome, well-paced story laced with strong male and female characters, tempting us to keep on reading as we reach the end of each chapter.

Not to mention, plenty of cowboys for everyone!

As I was reading I found myself drawn to specific characters. More specifically the main character, who as you will find out when reading, does not have the best luck. Quite a contrast to the book’s title. It's always a pleasure to read a Kelly Elliott book and find a part of one or more characters that we can identify with on a personal level, and I found myself twinning with Truitt on this one. He is definitely a character that everybody will love, as I did.

There were other aspects of this book that I greatly admired, such as the passion and determination of many of the characters. The way in which the attributes have been written is no way generic, each are individual, interesting, captivating, and are easy to like and connect with. Kelly manages this expertly with every book she writes, each character is unique to themselves so you always find one you like and I can guarantee in this book you will find several.

Personally, many other characters written within this book have influenced me to think differently about many things, try new things, and I have come to the realisation that certain things in life are okay to feel and to think. I always have something to take away from reading one of Kelly’s books, and this time around I have come to the realisation that I am worth somebody’s time even if it takes making a few mistakes to find that one perfect person.

Overall my own perception of the book far exceeded my expectations in every single brilliant way. I knew I was going to absolutely love the book as I do all of Kelly’s books there so far hasn’t been one book that I haven’t liked, but as every page passed I was more and more pleasantly surprised at just how much I had fallen for the characters and their stories. This is one book but I can assure all of you now will be in my top ten reads of this year, right up there with Never Enough.

The only negative thing I will have to say about this story, is that it simply came to an end. I could read about Truitt and Saryn for days and days.

Take a chance on reading Truitt and Saryn’s story, as you yourself will find yourself lucky in love with them

Kelly Elliott is one of my absolute favorite authors. She brings you that small town feel with a heavy emphasis on friends, family, and love that I just can't get enough of. Lucky In Love is book four in the Southern Bride Series. They are second chance romances that will give you all the feels. Each book is centered on completely new characters and of course comes with secondary characters that you just can't help to fall in love with too! Lucky In Love is definitely my favorite of the series so far.

I absolutely loved this story. Elliott had me laughing my butt off on the first page and it wasn't long after that I was enamored with Truitt and his clumsy ways. He is so sweet and genuine. A perfect southern gentleman. And ladies, there is just something so incredibly sexy about a man interacting with kids, am I right?!?!?!? Because I swooned so hard at every scene with Truitt and Liliana.

Saryn is a wonderful heroine. Elliott did a wonderful job portraying the struggles of a newly single mom, needing to protect her child and needing to live her life. She's a registered nurse, working in the ER, learning how to navigate being a single mom when she crosses paths with her high school crush, Truitt.

From their first encounter, it's obvious that Truitt and Saryn belong together. The sparks are there and you can feel the tension. The way Saryn's daughter Liliana, and Truitt take to each other is heartwarming. It is the sweetest thing ever. You can't help but root for them.

Lucky in Love is a heartwarming addition to the Southern Bride series you don't want to miss. It's a perfect balance of comedy and romance and I highly recommend it!

I fell in love with Kelly's books with the Wanted Series and she keeps getting better and better. Truitt was the true star of this book, other than Liliana. Truitt has some horrible luck, he is constantly getting hurt and the first chapter was hilarious. He has a highly sought after tree house business and gets hired to build a tree house for Saryn's daughter, Liliana. The only problem, he has been in love with Saryn since he was in high school and no one else has compared to her.
Saryn is moving home after years of being married. She doesn't want, and is adament that he not build the tree house, but soon realizes that her parents already paid. The encounter in his office is great and I couldn't wait to see how she reacted. She ran away due to a manipulation, which involved Truitt as well. She was in love with him and he broke her heart. I appreciated the fact that once they started talking they actually discussed what happened when they were in high school.
Liliana is a cute, precocious child, who wraps Twuitt (that's how she pronounces his name) right away, without even trying. I adored her and the fact that Kelly used her to show Truitt's softer side and that he was a wonderful man ready to settle down. Just when you think they are going to get their happy ending, her ex comes back.
This book teaches you the true meaning of love, friendship, and family. I laughed, cried and held my breath while reading this book. Every book in this series keeps getting better. I can't wait to see what comes next. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.

It was beyond my pleasure reading Lucky in Love by Kelly Elliott 💜
It was a great surprise to recieve an ARC. If you look on my page, you’ll see that I have shared a lot of Kelly’s books and well that is because, her books leave you wanting more EVERY SINGLE TIME. There is not one of her books that haven’t hit me right in the heart or made me laugh my ass off. Lucky in Love is just one of those feel good, sweet, beautiful and hilarious stories, that will leave you swooming so hard. If you need a book that’s light and good spirited, than look no further. This is that book.
Truitt is definitely a #BOOKBOYFRIEND and let me tell you, he just owns your heart from the get go. Than we have Saryn, I just find her so loveable, sweet and kind. I loved how when Truitt and Saryn where together they would bring out the best and kinkiest in each other. The whole single mother aspect was so beautifully written and whenever Truitt and Liliana had their moments.... woooow I didn’t think my heart could take anymore. This is just such a sweet story that will leave you wanting more from all the characters. Beware these characters are a little klumzy... ok not all the characters, just Truitt and boy oh boy is this boy accident prone😂 But than again, it makes you fall more in love with the story, more in love with him. Lucky in Love is set to release on June 9th. Go pre-order it right now💜
