Blood Fury MC #10

Blood & Bones: Dodge

Rate this book
First mistake: He let his guard down...

If it wasn’t for his cellmate, Rook, during his last bid in prison, Dodge never would’ve landed in Manning Grove.
In that small town in upstate Pennsylvania, he found his tribe. His brotherhood. His family.
Especially after years of having nothing.
Being a part of the Blood Fury MC, life is good. Solid.
It gives him something he’s never had before. Stability and roots.
He’s successfully managing Crazy Pete’s bar.
He has his choice of women.
He has zero complaints.
Then she walks in.
He tries his best to ignore her, until it becomes impossible.
The moment she begins to sing on stage, it flips him inside out and upside down. Her sinful, sultry voice drags him under her spell and never lets him go.
The only problem is, no one knows who she is.
Including him.
Not until it’s too late.

Note: Blood & Bones: Dodge is the tenth book in the Blood Fury MC series. This AGE GAP (OM/YW) romance has no cheating, no cliffhanger, and has an HEA. It’s best to read this series in order.

This one didn’t really work for me. The beginning was fine but once they started to hook up, I became disinterested. The vanilla spice, then eventual padlocked collar he gave her-that she had to wear…felt like it was just added in for no apparent reason. Syn’s backstory was a bit much as well. What happens to her as a child is tragic (as with most characters in this series). Syn is now 23. She hasn’t seen her daughter in 5 years. And she plans on getting her back by singing, on the road, booking gigs for food and tips and rarely getting paid? How is that logical? She’s not earning enough money to support herself, let alone a child whom was conceived via her adoptive uncle raping her when she was 13. She somehow believes her adoptive parents have legal guardianship of her daughter and she what, has no rights? She left her kid with those people for 5 years!! With the uncle still in the picture. WTH? Do a google search and figure some basic legal shit out. Good grief. Dude raped her repeatedly. Paternity can be easily proven. He’d easily be convicted. Come on.

Then when she gets the kid back by force (with Sig and the Fury’s help) Dodge points out she’ll need to establish a stable home for her 9 year old. She responds by saying she’s got to keep playing gigs and traveling, singing’s what she does. Um, you wanted your kid back which is admirable, but how did you think you’d actually raise her, traveling with your band making almost no money? She just seems really stupid.

Dodge wasn’t much better. A man-whore, bar manager, who sleeps with a different bar patron pretty much every night. Oh, and he also runs trains with his club brothers and still thinks about fucking Billie (the goth dominatrix club whore).

Yeah, no thanks.

Well....this one got interesting fast. I loved how Dodge was smitten with Syn from the start, liked that he helped Syn and the band out because he knew they needed help and he was once in a place to need that help. I also really loved that Dodge let Syn know he was interested in her, but she had to make the first move. It seemed right, given all that he had done for them. During their pillow talk things got even more interesting when Syn started to share her past.

I wasn't sure what I thought about what Dodge did in the aftermath. Part of me thought he shouldn't have let them leave, that he should have shared what he thought with Syn, but part of me thought like Dodge, that he needed to get the info verified first.

Once that info was verified, you can only imagine what happened next, but really that was nothing when compared to what Syn then told them, why she needed her brother back and the help she needed. From there things went about how you thought, the MC kicked into gear to get what was theirs and to punish the bad people and I had no problem with anything they did. Some people need killing and others need to have the fear of god put in them.

I liked how this one ended, liked that Syn is getting to see what a real family is all about, there to support you and help you.

I wish we could get another couple that feel like the books for Trip and Sig.

The author does well in parts but in nearly every book since something doesn't click. In this case, the inconsistent back story about Syn made no sense to me and the big reveals were telegraphed way ahead of time.

My biggest disconnect was the D/s "Vanilla Spice" or kinky lite that Dodge just pulled out of his ass and then started laying down rules without any negotiation and Syn just went with it. That seemed both unlikely to be a healthy relationship and big red flag for me.

I'm consciously choosing to ignore the kidnapped kid being well adjusted with the circumstances.

I keep saying I love Trip and his vision and family drive and Sigs obsession with Red and that's why I go back but I think I really need to see another power couple soon to fall in love with or it might be time to give this MC up.

I did not like this one as much as I have absolutely loved some of the other books in this series. This review will contain spoilers……..

It started out really good. I loved Dodge’s reaction when he first heard Syn sing. They had intense chemistry immediately. After his initial curiosity about her, he was so much in his own head about why “she wasn’t for him”. They have a few tension filled moments, but his hot and cold act started to frustrate me.

At around 60% in they finally decide to act on their attraction and have sex. But once again, Dodge is so much in his own head that he almost walks away right in the middle of it. That really killed the mood for me. Then when they continue and it’s getting hot and heavy, he’s in his head comparing her to Billy and other women he’s slept with. Again, that killed the mood for me. I know it was to prove a point that she enjoyed certain things during sex, but I’m really getting tired of every brother reminiscing about their sexual escapades with Billy all the time. Then…. A couple days later she leaves for another gig, and there’s Dodge thinking about hooking up with Billy to get Syn out of his head. He doesn’t of course. But I really hated that that was his first thought.

I did like the rest of the book though. Dodge decides he’s all in with Syn and helps her reconnect with Sig and get her daughter back. From that point on I felt a meaningful connection between them. I loved how protective he was of her—at all costs. The ending was good, not as satisfying as some of the other books, but it was also kind of setting up the next story.

I love this author. I've been a fan ever since I discovered her Dirty Dawgs series. I love getting to know all the various characters that slowly start to feel like family. This series, however, has been hit and miss for me. While still good, this series takes me longer to become invested in. It starts pretty heartbreaking with the background of the characters but then seems to somewhat stall for me. By the time I'm fully invested the ending is upon me.

That being said, I still enjoyed this book.

Sooo... was I the only one that wanted to read about Dodge and his female lead, who I was surprised, to say the least, but maybe some of you had thought about her. I haven't!
This is the tenth book in the series and once again it's a great story that will blow readers' minds. Our biker is the one managing the bar, so you can guess where he would meet our heroine - in the bar! Can it seem like an easy outcome? Well yes, but... with this author you can never be sure how your mind is going to blow up! And trust me it will be. Emotions will be also on the charts - not only a se**al tension, but also all the other ones!
If you love your bikers hot, emotional (but hidden inside them) - then you have to read Dodge! Give me more!

Dodge is book 10 in the Blood Fury MC by Jeanne St. James. I love her writing and got hooked by her Devil's Angels MC. The series continues with the underlying story of the Guardians of Freedom although there isn't a lot about them in this particular book. A few little bits here and there that you can tell will be building leading into the final couple of books.

This one is all about Dodge and him finding the one and there is a nice little surprise in there when things start to get deeper.

Dodge has been a steady presence in the previous books but hasn't had much of a role apart from the manager of Stella's/the club bar, Crazy Pete's. Dodge has many of the characteristics common with MC members, he's alpha, domineering, and willing to go to battle for his club/his family. I can't say what it is but guys like these in books give me weak knees.

I love a good MC romance and Jeanne knows how to write them. It's nice to get more of the story and I look forward to getting more of the club brother's falling.
.
.
.
Dodge is more than happy with his life as a member of the Blood Fury MC, it is more than he has had for a long time, and if it hadn't been for him and Rook being cellmates in his last stint he probably would have ended up back there. Now though he has a job, a roof, money coming in, and not much to worry about apart from the Shirley's out to get the club. If the club can end them and stay off the police radar he'll be a happy man.

When she walks into the bar wanting her band to get a gig Dodge finds himself in a place he wasn't looking for and didn't plan.

Syn is living from gig to gig and honestly barely getting by. She and her band need to get south out of the cold since their very old bus has no heating and it's getting colder quickly. They just need a paying gig to get enough money to fuel up and head to warmer climates. She can't give in because to her it is more than the band. If they can get a break she can try to get what was taken from her.

When she walks into Crazy Pete's she hopes they will give them a chance, but when she meets bar manager Dodge, she gets more than she bargained for.

Dodge can't explain his attraction to the tiny woman who wants a chance, she looks way too young for him and inexperienced. No matter the distance he tries to put between them every little piece of the puzzle he gets about her draws him further. He insists all the help he gives her is because he's been in the same position she and the band are in but it's more than that, he wants her.

When Syn finally opens up to Dodge he discovers something that could change her future and give her back something she has lost. It could be trouble for him with his brothers, but it won't stop him from confirming his suspicions.

As the club discovers who Syn is and what she means to not only Dodge but the club they set to put her past right. It will be a whole new life for Dodge but he's ready for it with Syn by his side he finally knows how his brothers felt as they found their women.
'That one person worth giving up everything else for. The one they didn’t want to risk losing. The one that… Just. Fucking. Fit.'

Happy Reading.

Blood & Bones: Dodge
Blood Fury MC, Book 10
By: Jeanne St. James
Narrated by: Ava Lucas, Stephen Borne

There are authors that keep adding to a series, and it just doesn't work. That is NEVER the case with Jeanne St James. She has these characters in her mind, stories that consistently win my heart, each hero being my favorite at the time, and a flow from book to book that make me feel like part of the community. This one has a bit of everything. From the fear of resurrection of Shirley's, to finding a soul mate, I am once again captivated for hours. Dodge is minding the bar when he is approached by Syn. She needs a chance for her band to play, and after some negotiating, and an intense chemistry, Dodge gives in. This talented, young woman has already captured this tough, older man. But she has secrets, and once a few are revealed, even more chaos will erupt. Unpredictable to say the least, this story has twists, turns, surprises and passion. It's an amazing story, and yes, Dodge is currently my favorite. What a heart this man has! Plus we get peeks at Trip and Sig, and Rook...always a treat! I cannot wait for the next in the series, it is building up to be a great one!

Ava Lucas and Stephen Borne. That is all I need to say to let you know how good this narration is. Lucas always is a favorite, and her understanding of these women is spot on. She gives Syn such attitude, but keeps that air of vulnerability just underneath so we can feel it. I love the times it slips and she is all in! Borne, with his raspy, alpha tone comes through with Dodge as a man that is impossible to ignore and one you have to love. He gets into his head, and becomes Dodge. These two worked wonderfully well together and brought this one alive! Loved it!

I've been waiting for Dodge's story, and, as usual, Jeanne St. James did not disappoint. Dodge is a typical member of the Blood Fury MC: alpha with a terrible childhood and multiple stints behind bars and no education. But with Trip's brotherhood, he's found his happy niche managing Crazy Pete's bar and living in the small studio above it, convenient for trips upstairs with the woman he's selected and wooed for a one-episode experience. But when a young girl comes in Pete's with a raspy voice in a cat-eared hoodie and badmouths the selections he's made for the digital jukebox then offers to have her band play for tips and a meal, he knows he's in trouble. When she shows up with an all-boy backup the next night, in a 35-foot long school bus with the windows painted black, he knows she's going to cause him more troubles than the pair of cops appearing telling him that bus can't block the alley. And then she delivers-singing her version of all his favorite songs on his jukebox. It's witchcraft. He's hooked. He delivers the free beer to the looker he had picked out for his trip upstairs tonight, letting her know it's off and moves himself upstairs alone so to avoid the magnet on his little stage that is working her magic on him!

Boy-oh-boy, this is just the opening of Dodge's story filled with passion and surprising plot twists and a really good dose of the complete brotherhood. If you've not read the other nine Blood & Bones books, you'd be wise to start at the beginning and get to know all the characters' backstories. You have a real treat ahead; this author's books are favorites to all her readers.

It hits Dodge just like some of other Blood Fury members and he never saw it coming. He does not do feelings and would do everything he could to control them. But then his feelings started to get in his way and saw himself doing nice things he never would dream he would normally do.
As you turn the pages your excitement level with your heart pounding goes up knowing something intriguing was about to happen. Just love this romantic, mysterious and comical at times story and when you add in all that hotness it just takes this story to a new level. Oh and lets not forget all the surprises you never see coming. I had so many guesses as to who she really was while reading this. I just could not wait to see if one of my guesses was right. What a great book with one surprise after another. And is something very interesting and probably very dangerous going on at Hillbilly Hill?
If you have never read one of Ms St James's stories-what are you waiting for? You do not know what you are missing. You will not be disappointed and soon you will as addicted as the rest of her readers. All of Jeanne's stories are outstanding and once you start one you just cannot put it down. They pull you in and all you can do is sit back an enjoy the ride.
I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Another piece of the puzzle

I love this one! Obviously not for Syn's struggles but for the brotherhood of this MC.

Jeanne St. James has masterfully crafted a world of dangerous, damaged, delicious MC Brothers who are easy to love!
These brothers are so Alpha, unapologetically rough and demanding, as well as being passionate, loving and steamy! This author certainly is one of the best MC romance authors and consistently provides gripping stories I am able to lose myself in!!
(Even if the subject matter is unbelievably horrible = triggers for some).
While each brother has his own struggles and issues, the unwavering passion for their chosen love is wonderfully written.
The pages of this book turned themselves too quickly for my liking, and I found myself at the end much to fast.
While I am glad I read these in order, after reading this one, I'm going back to Trip (book one) and re-reading them, to get myself ready for this series' conclusion. (Not that I ever want this to end!!!!)

There are very few authors that deliver such captivating stories as Jeanne St. James. I highly recommend her numerous other series and books.

Going into this book, I didn't have a great opinion of Dodge, being the womanizer that he was. But surprisingly, he stepped up his game within this story. People make dumb decisions all the time, and Syn is no exception, especially with her youth. Reacting to situations by protecting themselves due to their history. Reaching for a dream with no idea how to get there. There wasn't a lot of angst in this book. I think this is because the Shirley's as protagonists weren't in this story. But that seems to be changing.

Will begin Whip after writing this review to see just how much the angst level is going up.

As always, this book is well written. The author never disappoints in bringing this series alive.
Bottomline, this series is about broken people, from terrible situations, doing the best that they can with what they have at the time, and finding their way to a place with other broken survivors, making a better life together with each other, while making themselves better with the people surrounding them.

I read this via Kindle Unlimited, but I think this series and book is well worth your time and $$

Jeanne St James is a master at keeping the reader second guessing how her storylines will play out - but in Dodge's book she has truly excelled herself. There are so many plot twists, and two especially in regards to Syn I never, ever saw coming. Once again Jeanne had me on the edge of my seat wanting, and needing to know how this story will unfold. I honestly adore this band of misfit brothers that have come together to form one fabulous family. That each and every one of them have found themselves a wonderful partner just makes the books that much more enjoyable to read. As this is the tenth book in this series you would be forgiven in thinking that there are echo's of the previous nine books in the storyline. Well you couldn't be more wrong. Each book is beyond individual, the only recurring theme is the great set of characters. I cannot wait to see where Jeanne takes me next with the next book in this series.

A Sin for Syn

Dodge is a one-night strike it man; never to hit the same woman twice...until Syn hits.
Syn and her band The Synners offer to play at Crazy Petes for food and drinks on an off nignt to see if they are any good.
Stella hears them and tells Dodge to book them for Friday night (with free food and drinks again).
Everything is going fantastic until Syn asks to use Dodges shower and falls asleep in his bed and he takes the couch.
Dodge does not expect to have the feelings for Syn that is going on; the air just sizzles between them.
Syn is looking for her brother so she is always moving around and she never gives up looking.
The feelings they are having is about to explode and they are not sure how it will end.
This writer is amazing. Her books you can not put down and I read them at least twice before I write a review so I do not miss anything.
Bring the next one on Jeanne St. James.....we are ready.

I read an early review copy of this book for an honest review.

Phenomenal!!!! 🖤🔥🖤

I don’t know how Jeanne St. James manages to write amazing statues that just get better and better. Seriously, you read one and think it’s the best and then along comes another and BAM….expectations are blown out of the water.

Dodge and Syn are the featured couple in this latest addition to the Blood Fury MC world. I love seeing a playboy brought to his knees by the right woman!!! Syn is an amazing survivor and fits right in with the sisterhood of strong women who are still standing no matter what tries to take them down.

Dodge shows us a side of himself we haven’t seen before and I AM HERE FOR ALL OF IT! He is all Alphamale protectiveness and that transfers to the very NSFW scenes that are scorching!!!

Outstanding storyline (that prologue!!!!!), characters filled with depth, smexy scenes that have you fanning yourself and a HEA that leaves you satisfied. Not that I would expect anything less from one of Ms. St. James’ books. LOVED IT!!!!

Wow, just blown away by this deceptively simple start to Dodge's story! Running the club's bar is the perfect job for him. Booze and an apartment above the business with a steady stream of women looking for a good time is all he needs. Then a slender woman strolls in looking for work. When she starts to sing on that stage, he can barely look away. She has him in her spell but that magic works both ways. Just when we have caught the melody of this story, the needle on the record is violently pulled across the album. Suddenly we are in unexpected and perilous territory and I didn't see it coming. Beautifully written, the sensual pull between these two characters is unmistakable. Seeing them forge an unshakable trust, am unbreakable bond was everything. Each and every couple in this series is simply amazing but Dodge and his woman will be one of my absolute favs and deserve all the stars!

As Manager of Crazy Pete’s, Dodge is content with his life as it is. He has his Brothers (MC Family) at his back, a great job as a Bar Manager, and a roof over his head. (Even if it is an apartment above the bar.)

Dodge gives a Girl and her band an audition on a slow night at the bar to see if they are worth booking.
While Dodge has his doubts, he is Knocked off his Feet, when he hears Syn, the Lead singer of the band, open her mouth and start singing. Unable to take his eyes off her, he is like Damn. When Stella hears the band, she tells Dodge to book them for a Weekend night.

Dodge while attracted to Syn, is a playboy, but has no idea that his life is about to change.
Not only is Dodge’s Life about to change, but so is the MC’s.

A great read, as always Jeanne St. James is a master at keeping you enthusiastically involved in another book in this incredible series.

Dodge & Syn

Dodge is a hit it and quit man, his past is not pretty and heartbreak. Syn is guarded and her childhood is pretty either. Syn and her band The Synners are in a bad way but Dodge offers them a big and instead of money the play for food and drinks. Syn asks to use Dodges shower and falls asleep in his bed and he takes the couch. Dodge does not expect to have the feelings for Syn and the air just sizzles between them. After a night of passion Syn reveals she's needs her brothers help and when she says his name Dodge can't believe what he heard. After he confirms and Syn reveals why she needs him Dodge boss to never let her go. I loved their story and can't wait to see more of them in the future. Their story was a great addition to the series. I can't wait to read While story and see what the future holds for the men and women of Blood Fury MC.

Catching love

A good story with some twists and turns. It starts out a band wanting a gig.. Turns into a lost sister searching for a brother to help her retrieve her daughter and a bunch of paybacks. There are little bits of mystery throughout the story. Dodge spends a lot of the story caring about the lead singer and her starving band before he realizes she's the sister of one of his MC brothers, which he does sorta during their one night together after the band finishes their gig at his bar. They both can't stop thinking about each other then he tells her he found her brother and the real issues start. She explains her life after her brother disappeared and how she has a daughter and she was stolen. The MC decides to deal with it and she and Dodge and Maya become a family. Its a good story...

Blown Away, which means to impress very strongly and usually favorably, is exactly how I feel about Dodge, which is the latest book in the Blood Fury series. Jeanne St. James has done just that – blown me away with her exceptional writing. I know of no other author that is able to constantly keep you guessing and then totally shock you with the outcome of her stories. I was so looking forward to Dodge’s story and definitely did not know what to expect. I do not know how Jeanne St. James comes up with such original material in each and every one of her stories. This book is full of plot twists that you definitely do not see coming. If you want to be blown away, I highly suggest Dodge and the rest of the Blood Fury MC if you have not already had a chance to read this series.

Great story, I absolutely love the Blood Fury Mc members.

Dodge and Syns story is a slow burn, and is super intense.

Syn is the lead of The Synners and they spend all their time hopping from bar to bar in hopes that they get noticed. But what know one knows is she has a secret, and its a big one, and the one person she needs the most is her brother, but what her band mates don't know is that she needs the money the band makes to getter kid back.

Dodge runs the bar owned by the Fury, and loves to hit it and quit it. That is until a mysterious woman pleads for a chance to play at the bar. Intrigued buy the woman he tries to fight the pull between them, but quickly learns it is pointless, and know he can't let her leave, even if it p$ss's his brother off.

What a ride with Dodge, per usual Jeanne knocks it out of the park
There are not one but two plot twist in here that will have you holding you breath in anticipation on what is coming!
I love that there is always a new story that blends into the current and keeps everything fresh which Jeanne does so well!
Dodge is your typical biker ahole in the flesh, didn't want to have a women only one for a night. Then here comes a band and a certain singer catches his eye. She has him under a spell and he helps them along the way which she wanted no part of until he bulldozed his way in. the ending is also a great segue into what is going to happen next! Great read to finish out 2021!

Once again, Jeanne St. James has given us an AMAZING story and couple to root for. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dodge and Syn together! They are wonderful and I love how she ties into the series (I wont say how) I wish I could hear her sing for myself. I hope her friends patch into the club! It was great to catch up with some favorites in this book too! I always knew I would love Dodge's book and his book is now up there with my very favorite JSJ books. Its sad that it took so many years for Syn to have a certain person back in her life but the reunion was wonderful and sooooo emotional. (its hard to do this without spoilers. lol) GREAT STORY! Everything you could want!

I loved Dodge from the second I picked up his book! His cocky swagger and too mighty to fall attitude made me root and cheer for him to find the woman who was meant to take him down the path of monogamy. Man oh man did he go from one night stands to finding his one and only with Syn. She is sassy and cool and on a mission of her own. She doesn’t need Dodge but manages to want him anyway. Both of their worlds of constant motion come to a halt when they unexpectedly fall into each other’s path. This book was full of fun, twists and Jeanne St. James’ usual motorcycle loving antics! I couldn’t get enough and I cannot wait to see more of Dodge and Syn in books to come!

My favourite kink..."Vanilla Spice"

Dodge is 35, Syn is 23...so yes, there is an age gap. But more importantly...there is a maturity gap. Like at some moments Syn is soooo much more mature/older and then in other ways she is soooo naïve/vulnerable. I just loved the dichotomy.

Dodge is drawn to her. I enjoyed that he didn't really know why. He was the ultimate manwhore, but one taste of Syn and he is addicted. He keeps doing things out of character, but then he doesn't question it too much.

The twists and turns are good and I enjoyed the action, especially the tiny bit I got of my man Shade!!!!

Great addition to the series and I am so ready for those Shirely's to be done!
