The first thing I have to say is this book is extraordinarily effective. I paused often while reading it to breathe deeply. Kambolis is generous in her advice to try meditation as an antidote to the stress of being a woman in the world. She wrote, "When we scold ourselves for not meditating correctly, this practice becomes just another way to reinforce the same old mind patterns." Instead of directives, she offers suggestions, notes of encouragement, summarized takeaways, journal prompts, and QR codes to quickly access meditations. Her presentation does not overwhelm with brain science -- just enough to satisfy curiosity before getting down to the action items.

I will be gifting this book this year to every special woman in my life. When Women Rise is refreshing, unlike a lot of this space that just feels like regurgitated information to encourage self-love and wellness. It's accessible to all in so many ways: organized and perfectly lengthened chapters, QR codes that lead you to Michele's voice guiding you through all the written meditations and breathwork exercises that break up the content and reinforce the learning in real time (making the book a true EXPERIENCE). Each chapter summary also includes 3 Key Takeaways + endless journal prompts to reflect on your reading. With this in mind, the re-readability of this book is infinite... I could see myself revisiting certain chapters, going back just for the sake of journaling, and of course, to guide my meditations. I have never been one to annotate or tab books, but after one chapter of reading, I hopped on Amazon to buy some sticky tabs to bookmark key learnings, favorite quotes, findings, etc.
