Congrats on Slow Damage being the GOAT GOTY AOTY BOOK OF THE YEAR peak fiction, real and raw reading slow damage felt so fresh like it feels like a second puberty in terms of reading fiction.

The artstyle oh my goshhhhhh it’s amazing. Can’t lie - I absolutely love this visual novel (as fucked up as it is) and the manga adaptation did really great. All the characters look so pretty!!! (especially Taku. Gosh I love Taku.)

I started this in August 2025 but for some reason I paused it right after I finished Ikuina's route, which I regret it SO badly. Asakura's route was really boring unfortunately, so me trying to finally get back into Slow Damage this week was a little hard. But once Taku's route begun, it all went by so fast, this was genuinely so fucking entertaining. I have been craving true toxic yaoi and I went back to Slow Damage out of boredom and im so, so, so glad I did, this satisfied me amazingly. I love Towa, Taku, and Rei, so much. I like them the most with Towa.

I'm really conflicted on how I should feel about Madarame, I really despised him when he kidnapped Towa (although he looked so cute in the collar) and technically gave him stockholm syndrome, although at the same time he was already messed up with his sadomasochism and since he knew of Madarame for that long and hung out with him in the past, I shouldn't be extremely surprised. What made me the most sad though in that route was him separating from Rei and Taku, considering they cared for him a shit ton, not even keeping contact with them either in the end.

I have mixed opinions on Fujieda's route, unfortunately I didn't care much about the guy, he can relate with Towa trauma-wise though which was nice. I really loved how we finally found out Towa's backstory, since in the other routes they kept edging us on through his nightmares. But at the same time it was a real 50/50 chance of an idea considering he got suicidal 10x worse than he already was after remembering his past, which honestly I can't blame him whatsoever. If Fujieda didn't chose the perfect wording in that moment, he would've full well just died right then and there with him.

Honestly I loved the storyline a lot, I'm so thankful that the author didn't hold back at all. And the artist's artstyle is amazing as hell, it's what encouraged me through Asakura's route. I loved how they drew the blood/wounds, corset piercings (in Rei's bad ending) and made the dicks not gross looking, which this is kinda rare. This was all just really perfect. The only thing I hated in this storyline honestly was Towa losing contact with Rei And Taku in Madarame's route, I already said this but I had to once more, it was depressing as hell since I love the two (in fact, the three of them should get into a polyamory relationship, stat.)
