Trick the humans, steal the gold, gain the power, achieve god-like status. The motivations of a Diabolical Dragon.
Orion's unknown father... yeah, that shitty guy was a fey dragon. When Orion matures into a man, he spends a day in the snow transforming into a warehouse-sized dragon. Now he's hunted. Vile humans want to adorn his head as a trophy in their halls. Except, instead of letting the humans hound him. Orion blends in, swapping between dragon and human to carry out his diabolical plans.
Warning - This novella is not for the faint of heart. It contains a bad guy... an actual villain. Does he have motivations? Sure, but he still is the Diabolical Dragon.
Contains a magical fantasy setting where men use dowries for their daughters, monster fey are considered scum, and nobility can do just about anything they want if they have enough gold.
Edition 2 contains all new chapters with 20% more content than before. Enjoy.
This was my first read with this author and although the plot was intriguing everything else seemed to fall flat. There were several grammar issues and there wasn’t enough background story to really understand what I was reading. This book was advertised as a stand alone and yet there was so much back story that wasn’t spoken of that it basically felt like someone dropped someone from 1990 in the middle of season three of Game Of Thrones and told them to figure it the hell out. Not the worst thing I’ve read but not impressed. Probably will not be going back to read more.
I can't, I tried to finish but it is just SO BORING!
Two thirds through was all I could handle. The time skips were big enough that I never cared about the added characters. The story was boring, focusing on trivial politicking rather than the outcome. The dragon was not villainous, just self centered and of a different moral bent than the general populous. So the overall story is lacking, the main character is misrepresented, and the temporal focus jumps forward in large leaps. And that is why I quit two thirds through.
Don’t get a lot of anti-hero (Villain) books often so this was a nice little gem to find.
Beyond that: Quite a few typos and grammatical mistakes.
Still a very good book, would recommend it to friends if I had any.
Not very good at typing out book reviews so… To summarize: Good book, Recommend it, Keep up the good work.
Note to Author: Get someone to proofread your books before you publish them, or just read through them yourself after you’re done, to catch all the little mistakes and errors most people miss when they’re initially writing their books.
Either as a stand alone or the beginning of a new series this is a great story!!! Great adult fantasy, wild adventures and enjoyable world building!!! You won't go wrong reading any of thus authors stories!!!!
This book deserves an encore and a sequel. So much fun to read. This is how to write a story with a truly bad guy no bleeding heart faux villian with a heart of gold. No ridiculous plots for heroes to foil, evil to the core and I loved every minute of it.
The story was good enough that I was engrossed. Time was forgotten until the end. Interesting characters and plot. shorter then his usual books but just as good.
