Laysha's seen everything you can imagine and more come through that emergency room door. Working twelve-hour shifts has not left a lot of room for love, but that might be changing now that she's met an Irishman who owns the cafe Laysha walks past on her way to the hospital. He seems intent on teaching her everything he knows about coffee and matters of the heart.
But when Laysha's life is in danger, she and Rory believe it has something to do with his brother's troubles or is the danger closer than they think?
An Amazon and USA Today Bestselling Author, Tamika Brown writes in multiple genres, which include African American Romance, Paranormal Romance and Interracial Romance. When she is not writing, she being a Marval junkie, reading, or just enjoying being a sports mom.
It was just okay for me. I’m not used to books that don’t tell full stories before the couple falls “in love.” Maybe this is modern day story telling, but I prefer old school novels. In this book the hero and heroine meet, go on 1 date, sleep together, conflict and then are suddenly in love. I prefer more substance in romance novels than this author provided.

I had this book for a while and finally decided to read it. I enjoyed the storyline and the main characters and can't wait to find out what happens next.
This was a good read. Rory and Laysha definitely had an instalove connection, and while I enjoyed reading them, from what I got of the other brothers, it feels like the author chose to publish the books out of order if that makes sense. For some reason, I feel like we should have gotten Brendan and Aysha's book first since part of the central plot of this one was the things going on with Brendan. We should have gotten his book first and then this one second. Now, me saying that is just from reading this book. I may feel differently when I read book 2.
Laysha is a strong woman who enjoys taking care of her patients and doing all she can for them, but for some reason, she's unable to see that Marcus Davis is as unstable as they come, and it isn't as if he's hiding it. She was honestly making me mad because she would acknowledge the crazed looks he would take on and then say, "He's harmless. If it continues, I'll go to HR." No, ma'am you need to listen to what Rory is telling you and go to the police. I also would have liked to know what caused Laysha and Aysha to fall out or become distant. Laysha tells us several times that they aren't as close as they were, but she's enjoying the time they're now spending together, but we're never told why.
Rory cares deeply about his family, and his worry for Brendan is palpable. He also seems to be a romantic, falling for Laysha as soon as he lays eyes on her and even wanting to explain a mishap she witnesses at his cafe to her. He does the legwork or at least has it done, to try to find out about this man that is popping up at every corner where Laysha tends to be. The author does a great job at showing he cares for her, but their chemistry seemed a little bland until their first date.
Their chemistry in the bedroom could have been a little better. I feel like the lead-up was good as far as their date went, but for me, the actual act didn't quite live up to what the characters, from their own words or thoughts, promised.
This was my first book by the author, and though I feel like it could have been flushed out a bit more, it was still a good quick read.

Unique words, LLC your recommended this book so you and Tamika Brown need to hurry up and get me book two. Liam, Brendan, and Rory brothers united with the love of a great uncle have always been tight even when they don't always agree on everything, but now things are unfolding and secrets for some are fallout. Liam seems to be in trouble and keeping thems to himself, Brendan puts the family in trouble but luckily he didn't realize the truth until later, uncle Connor has secrets that's the boys find out about later than sooner, and then you have rory and laysha who met unexpectedly but moved real fast to I love you but when a crazy doctor goes after laysha rory is in it for the long haul
I loved everything about this book!! The synopsis got my attention from minute one. And I was not disappointed! Author Tamika Brown weaved a storytelling storyline full of chemistry, action, laughter, drama, sex appeal, intrigue and lots of heat. Rory and Laysha's story was a great introduction into the Murphy brothers. Every page was so good I could not put my kindle down! And if future books are like this first book, then I know future books on these brothers are gonna be fun to read! There's a lot of secrets and drama to explore in this family. And I'm on board to read every single one of them! This is the first book that I've read by this author. But it's by no means the last!! I highly recommend this book! 5⭐'s well deserved.
I love me some Irish mobsters! Not really what I got in this book. The Murphys are an interesting set of brothers with family secrets. This book scratches the surface of them. Rory, who owns a coffee house, falls for Dr. Laysha Graham, who works at the hospital around the corner. She falls just as hard for him. Love this couple. Lay has a twin and Rory has two brothers. I’ll leave it at that. Can’t wait to read book two.
Read this book in one setting. Loved it. The sex scenes were a bit graphic for me, so I had to skim through those, but the story was on point. I’m sure there is more to follow on the family history of Liam, Brendan and Rory. The family secret is about to hit the fan.
This story is a sweetly realized story about love unexpected. Rory opened a coffee shop and before the grand opening met Laysha, a doctor at the hospital. It was long at first sip. Between her stalker and his family mob connection, their lives are complicated. And did I mention her identical twin is dating his trouble making younger brother?
Entertaining storyline. Suspense, action and mystery held my attention. Albeit a satisfying ending. The reader was left with a mystery or questions that would not be satisfied until book two. Not happy with that, but will look forward to the next book. I am hooked on the Murphy brothers
Unalive him?!? I know they could've put him in a barrel of acid...or 💩 lol... something!! Very few grammatical/spelling errors... Which I love!! Felt like the end was rushed but I know there's a part 2, so I'm cool with that. Can not wait to read about Brendan and Ayasha* (hope I spelled it right, couldn't remember 🤷🏾♀️).
Really good storyline, I enjoyed it very much. Love stories about family dynamics. It was nice to see two brothers in love with two sisters, and twins at that. Thanks for the story.
Love how the brothers look out for each other I love reading novels where the black women are strong and are professional career women and not single mothers waiting for a knight in shining armour Great story line. Looking for future works from this author
Wow! I really liked this story. I hope it's a part two Liam gets with one of friends of the doctor. I liked the setting too and the characters were awesome.
Great story, I think we need more from the Murphy boys. Rory and Laysha story showed love and spark at first sight, glad he saved her from the crazy Dr. Davis. Wonder how Brendan and Ayesha will fair and what’s going on with Liam.
The love at first sight was clear and the way this book was written. I was Lay would listen to people about warnings they. Where giving her but her man came with the mob to get his women back hope book 2 comes soon because this could be my new book series.
I enjoyed this book. This book was about unexpected love between two people. Laysha was a doctor and Rory was an Irish coffee shop owner. This story give you drama, love, and a insight on the Murphy Brothers. I enjoyed how naturally Laysha & Rory fell for each other.
I like the fact that Laysha and Rory went after what they wanted without playing games. Dr Davis, my goodness… ! Can’t wait for Brendan and Aysha and the eldest bro .
This romance started slow and pick up speed. Trouble with paradise as well as unexpected drama that put drama. With all this made this storyline worth reading.
The cutest couple everrrrrr! Equally yoked and all of that. Both families are changing rapidly and I hope the changes won't put unnecessary stress on the new relationship.
Loved this first book of the series. Love big men and I loved the interaction between Rory and Laysha. The Author has don a very nice job in intertwining the back stories into present day setting. I'm looking forward to the follow on books.
I didn't hate this story but I did not love it either. It was suspenseful, cute in some aspects but there was this big build up and then bam... it ended. That being said, I did like Rory and Laysha's romance.
I'm giving this 3.5 ⭐⭐⭐ there was no chapter break you would be reading about the FMC and story would all of a sudden jump to the main male character. None the less I enjoyed the story. This story touches on kidnapping, the mob, love, and some family secrets😉😉
