Terrible... the 2nd star is only because the author gets points for SOME creativity
The creativity goes to Katie writing that the Luke and Janice dont even meet until over halfway through the story. A nice change of pace from the "im a rich guy my surrogate will live in my house immediately and ill impregnate her naturally even though its supposed to be clinical"
But Janice is terrible. Literally claims up down and sideway that she isnt going to turn on the deal and that she wont catch feelings for the baby or want to keep it. Only to do just that (shocker). Literally she starts saying all the nurses and doctors and administrators are wrong and have nothing to worry about and she knows what shes doing, and then bam she says shes going to fight the rich guy and his lawyers to keep the kid.
And i dont even know of i like Luke or not. Hes not in the story as much to really get a read on him. His mom is a larger player in this story than he is.
I keep trying to give this series a chance, but every random story I read from it is terrible. The idea is there but the execution is always poor. This is like the 7th book at least from this Friends with Money Rich guus with Money (BWWM BWAM) series by Katie ive read and its another fail for me. If not for free reads and this free KU trial, i wouldnt pay for this.

I feel like there was no background into the characters. Yes, you learned about the actual characters but I mean background as far as their cultural heritage. What they ate they ate soup the whole time it was weird and soap that burns I’m not sure I like this one very much I was a lot of seriousness and then a big 360 so it is what it is, but I definitely have a problem with that lack of knowledge into both of their cultural backgrounds, there are things that was missing there was descriptions and the dark eyes and dark hair really got boring and the lack of description of her just continuously saying how beautiful she was. What color was her skin? Was it the color of sand? Was it a color of brown sugar was a caramel is it chocolate? I know that this is a really long review but I just feel like there could’ve been more and I kind of ruined my Asian male black woman fantasy.

I’m tired 🥱
I have read every book in the series just about. However, this last book with Luke I didn’t even finish it at all. I had a really hard time with the main female lead character excepting the money to keep her bookstore and her house knowing good and well that she was going to have to give the baby up just to turn around and act a complete idiot about having to give the baby up. When everybody in her life said are you sure you’re going to be able to give this baby up. It was ridiculous and I couldn’t even read another second of this book. Also I agree with another reviewer‘s comment. I am tired of hearing the endearment darling constantly pick another word. I am also tired of reading chagrin constantly. There are other hairstyles a bun a ponytail a French roll anything but that dang chagrin!

Dreadful...
I am sorry to say this book is terrible. Rushed scenes with no character development, no delving into the scenes, the emotions the characters are going through to explain actions and behaviour . 1st intimate scene comes out of nowhere, there was no building of the moment, just suddenly bam. We spend several chapters with no real conversation between the characters to develop the relationship. Two weeks worth of sex, no conversation of substance and BAM, she is in love. Come on!!! The author needs to do better than that. The lead man goes from grade a a-hole to in love with a few sentences. I found the writing lazy and feel the author would benefit from NOT releasing books what feels like every week and horn her craft. I don't like writing bad reviews but felt I had to. Please do better!

Awesome
I am always excited to get another Katie Dowe books. Every chapter in this book I was waiting for Luke and Janice to meet. I was trying to guess the seen: was he going to see her in the restaurant with Greg the lawyer or was he going to the book store out of Curiosity or what, lol. I was astonished to see how she broke through his tough exterior to find his love. Very good read.

Loved it Darling!
I guess darling will always be Katie’s signature term of endearment even though people that age rarely uses it. Anyways,enjoyed this book! I really felt bad for Luke and the way he was brought up. However, Janice came into his life and showed him that true love between a man and woman does exist. Homegirl came along and knocked all the ice off his castle!

The starting of this story was very intense,thinking where this was going.
But my god what a way,the story went.
Luke had a bad upbringing,by his father,so I see where he gotten this hard drive he developed in his life.
So my girl Janice didn't no what was in store for herself .

Fascinating
What a beautiful and exciting story the characters are everything you can aspect from Members from Money stories. Their relationship is passionate with excellent chemistry this will be a beautiful experience to read. I have enjoyed them all and I am excited to read the next story.

This is one of your best books , of course all of them are. I don’t know how you continue to keep coming up with all the different personalities and stories ideas. None of them are repeats. There are just so many ways to make love but other than that your stories are all different and thank you for your excellent writing .

Perfect Read
Another excellent summer read. Love is always hit and miss, in real time it can be elusive, yet once in while it does happen and I have seen it bring great men to heel. We all hope for that love, never say never folks . Thanks again for entertaining us with so vivid imagination.

Loved it
The first chapters seemed to go on and on, I was beginning to think is it really Katie’s book. Then bam 💥 fireworks. It got relentless, those two were at it like rabbits. Good read.

I really enjoy these stories but this one was a little bit dragging. I didn't like that the couple didn't meet until the 50% mark of the book. Overall it was still a good read.

It was a very clinical slow start before the even meet which was delaying and confusing especially inserting new relationships. But their union was like rockets and intense. I would recommend.

Not something to waste time on.
Dialogue stiff, not one contraction used, unbelievable. Why did I buy it? I didn't (see a contraction), I used Kindle Unlimited or I'd be more upset over the money wasted than I am about the time. I wasted reading it.

I'm an avid reader and I love Katie Dowe. I especially liked one of her first stories about Lessa and Bradley. I just finished Luke it was excellent.

Luke reminded me of a little boy in an adult body. The author answered a question that I had regarding Janice’s wish in the end.
