White Angels Have No Rest is the sequel of White Angels Have No Wings. In this manhwa is set many years later after the events that took place in WAHNW, now we follow Dahye who still have the lingering trauma of what Yeonhwa did to her in Highschool and has bad coping mechanisms that do little to calm her. Until she runs into Yeonhwa when she went for a rutine inspection of one of the companies' facilities and starts a revenge plot towards Yeonhwa.

On the other hand, Yeonhwa was released from juvie and when she got a job she met Yeonyeong, a sweet, meek girl with whom she's living a normal domestic life. However, her world turns upside down when she meets Dahye again.

Dahye's machinations to get back at Yeonhwa are great albeit fucked up though Yeonhwa hasn't changed a bit so they enabled each other through to the end making their relationship very toxic. Though I would have liked to see something else happening outside the bedroom. Also Dahye made some fucked up decisions that i don't think are very forgivable. Tbh there's no likeable character save for Dahye's sister Minhye and Yeonyeong.

While i found the story not as great as the first one, it was still the right amount of "fucked up characters doing fucked up shit" so i expected Dahye's actions to scalate to the point of no return, however, we got a very rushed and disappointing ending that hindered the rating.

I like Gado's distinctive artstyle.

CW for rape and physical abuse.

i really enjoy this manhwa (and the first one as well). the subjects are very triggering and difficult, but i'm a huge fan of dahye's character and to be completely honest she does mean a lot to me. she's objectively a horrible person but at the same time you can't help but feel bad for her. despite how much i personally like the manhwa, i really can't recommend it to most people because of how triggering it can be; sexual assault/abuse and the trauma it causes are huge themes throughout. but if these are subjects you aren't bothered by, and you appreciate characters who are well-written (imo) but horrible people, it might be worth your time. once again though i urge you to be careful if you decide to read it, the topics are very triggering and the characterizations are definitely not to everyone's tastes.

it’s fitting that the sequel to white angels have no wings is 5x more extreme (and thankfully shorter so it doesn’t feel like it drags). i find the progression of the characters to be fitting and extremely interesting to follow, even if it was hard to watch sometimes. despite the raging toxicity of the main “couple”, i can’t help but lowkey root for their terribleness together in the end. like yeah…you two should run away together! but i liked the ending as it is good enough. i think i liked this a bit more than the first one for the simple fact that Ayeon is was my least fav and now she’s basically nonexistent. anyway, all in all, a pretty good conclusion to the story that improves in basically every way imo.

Spoilers.

This sequel is noticeably better than its prequel, White angels have no wings. Although reading the prequel is definitely important to have a full understanding of this one. All the hurt, pain and toxicity really levels up after knowing Yeonhwa and Dahye’s past and trauma caused by one another.

The ending was kind of fitting but I wish they stayed together til the end in some way, whether they died together in the car or ran away to live together for the rest of their lives. I guess in the end it shows Yeonhwa really can’t be fixed easily, even by Dahye. Yeonhwa couldn’t even apologise in the end. They were both horrible people and a horrible couple so maybe it’s for the best they part ways at the end.

This is apparently the sequel to a different series which I have not read but this series provides plenty of information to enjoy the story so you do not necessarily need to read the previous story first

But I found the ending rushed

Glorified rape that's even worse than the first and incredibly disturbing. I don't recommend either stories to anyone.
