‘Born to Fall’ is set in the same dystopian world, where America has fallen, the world has gone dark, and all technology is a distant memory, as book one in the series ‘Born to Fight’. I recommend reading them in order as the characters do crossover, and readers will be more familiar with the background to the controlling UNR and the Resistance. It was nice to ‘catch up’ with Hunter and Rain from book one, but this story concentrated on Derek who is part of the Resistance, and who is trying to free people from being slaves and Julia who he helped rescue. Derek had always put his duties to the Resistance first until he finds himself drawn towards Julia, but he worries that if he allows himself to fall in love he can’t still help save the movement. Julia has been through hell and survived but she now finds herself attracted to Derek, the man who literally carried her out of her prison. However, she sees love as being dangerous and is at war with herself about her feelings and her fear of her past being repeated.
The couple have to decide whether to take a chance at love, but will their decision lead to the fall of the Resistance. The dark dystopian world was yet again vividly brought to life by the authors wonderfully descriptive world building which insured I felt totally immersed in the story. The exciting, dangerous, action packed storyline kept me hooked from page one and the characters and the romance kept me happily turning the pages. I found the connections between the characters to be very natural and realistic, and Derek and Julia’s chemistry really came across in the narrative, as did their angst. An engaging read and one which I definitely recommend, and I hope this series continues.

I had loved the first installment in this breath taking series, and this one just as amazing as the previous. This time though we already had the character introductions done and knew the main aspects of what made them who they were, but I knew things are not always what it seems, this novel brought on so much feelings, dare I say disbelief? I was hooded and sucked into this, and did not want to put this book down!
The novel takes place after the events of the previous novel. Julia and Derek are amazing characters, and my love for them both only continued and became stronger in this moving novel, and with the events circulating them in this book, there was a lot at stake for them both, and not just the feelings and passion they felt for one another! The story was very realistic, say the world is being thrown into chaos. Every move you make can determine a uprising or downfall. Chose wisely, it may be your last. What if though, the decision you trust on is wrong and everything you thought you knew was right was actually the exact opposite? The book was powerful and brought on a roller coaster of emotions, and a lot of feelings!
I was hooked even more I would like to say with this one. As said Derek and Julia met in the first under circumstances that were probably less than ideal for them both. The passion and tender touch that gives that light house a shine that guides the boats home on the darkest days, was exactly what the feelings an souls of one another did for each other. It was powerful and moving. They were on different sides though, would they go against what they each stand for to find a home in each other that may truly be the one thing they should be fighting for in amidst of it all? Again, powerful and realistic writing!
This series, impacts me so much, it makes me feel more than just intrigued! I am kept wanting more to see how things will develop and how things will happen, by the way the book flows as well as decisions of the characters. Honestly the realism is very real for me. This book series is one of favorites, and I have barely scratched the surface. This is not a series or book to pass up. High recommendation from me!

Brittany you are killing me. I started reading this morning. I am done. This was so good. I don’t even know where to start with this review. I was anticipating learning more about Kayla and Sawyer. But I’m this story gave me everything I didn’t know I needed about Julia and Derek. First off Derek is so much like his brother Hunter. And I love him for it. Julia and Rain had such similarities (which isn’t a surprise seeing how they were both Alans wives…I mean prisoners) but each had to develop their own strengths and heal their own way.
What the heck is going on with Sawyer? Will we learn more next book? Also my poor Kayla. My heart is so heavy for her.
Anna is such an independent, skilled, woman. A bad mother…shut yo mouth. I cannot wait to dive into her story and her plan. Perfect for Hayden.
I want Hunter to come out of retirement a little. I need to see his dangerous side again.
And the poor older woman who’s name slips my mind at the moment. Ugh I just wanna hug her. Can we get a prequel to the fall?
Also movie and tv execs can I get a show on the CW or something? This would make great tv. Or a great movie franchise.
I hate that I read it so fast cause now I gotta wait so long for more. Ugh! If you’ve read to this point of my review, what are you waiting for read this series! Romance, action, thrills, chills, bump n grid, happy endings, epic cliff hangers, what else do you need?

Born to Fall is the second book in the Can’t Resist You series by Brittany Anne. I absolutely LOVED the first book in this series, so I was beyond excited to see this second instalment had released. Again, as with the first, this is a Sci-fi romance with post-apocalyptic and dystopian themes, resistance fighters, high stakes, and dangerous turns.
I have to say that this second book is just as good, if not even better than the first book. I am officially addicted to Brittany Ann’s stories- it was so easy to lose myself in her story, in a really great way and now I need more.
This is packed full of action, adventure, danger, drama, suspense, mystery, chemistry, sizzle, tension, intrigue, hop, emotion, secrets, lies, agendas, intensity, and so much more. I was completely immersed in the story, reading the whole thing in just a few hours as my eyes flew over the pages to find out what happens. Such a riveting read!
As expected from Brittany Ann, this was another fantastically exciting, steamy and emotional read- with heartaching parts, touching + tender scenes, sweet and romantic moments, as well as intense edge-of-your-seat gripping suspense…. all of which Brittany Ann masterfully choreographed into an entirely addictive and amazing story.

Seriously, this series has been giving me hard Hunger Game or Divergent vibes, and this second installment just made it that much stronger. Dystopian works of written and cinematic art have always had a soft spot in my heart, mind, and soul, and Brittany Anne has not failed to provide exactly what I look for. From the prologue, to the decision not to read the epilogue, I was immersed in her writing, and absolutely loved how I was better equipped to picture the world in which Derek and Julia are fighting hard to make it a better place.
Overall, these two are soulmates in the craziest of ways, and they come to learn of the inner turmoil that torments them both and allows for their bond to grow even stronger. It is very admirable the way that they can support each other while growing into their own skins, while protecting those they care for and love. They fight for what they believe in, both to protect the Resistance and the people that are currently under their protection, and the ones they want to provide their protection for as well. I felt the emotions come up from the pages, sadness, hope, love, fear, and strength, and didn’t want to put the book down. I loved every moment, and very much look forward to getting to know more about Anna and Hayden in the next installment. Wow, Brittany Anne, wow! Highly recommend.

This is the second book in the Can't Resist You series and wow they just keep getting better and better. You really need to read the first book to get the story about the Resistance and what they are fighting against. In the first story we followed the ups and downs of Hunter and Rain's relationship and these characters are still present in this book.
This book follows on from the first with the story of Derek and Julia. All Derek has known is bring with the Resistance, his main passion is saving people and setting them free. However that changes when he meets Julia.
Julia was a prisoner who get rescued in the last book by Rain, Hunter and Derek. Although there is a strong connection between Julia and Derek she feels to broken to even think of another man in that way. However as time progresses and she starts to recover both Julia and Derek start to see each other in a different light.
Meanwhile the Resistence is still trying to move forward but how they can free people when they don't even realise they are free?
This book is full of tears and joy, danger,lies and deceit as well as a beautiful love story about two broken souls coming together to heal one another and make an impact on the broken world around them.

Born To Fall is the 2nd book in the Can’t Resist You series by Brittany Anne. It is a great dystopian romance novel that I enjoyed very much. I had previously read, and enjoyed, the first book Born To Fight and was looking forward to the nest instalment in the story. This book can be read as a stand-alone but I think you’d enjoy it much better if you had read Born To Fight before reading Born To Fall.
Something I rarely comment on when reviewing books is the cover, but I have to say that I’m a sucker for any book that has the gorgeous model Kamil Nizinski on the cover.
In this book we get the story of Derek, one of the resistance leaders and Julia, who he had previously rescued from the UNR. With Derek being so high up in the hierarchy the last thing he needs is the distraction of a woman but he just can’t get Julia out of his head.
I really enjoyed reading Derek and Julia’s story. Julia has suffered badly in the past and trusts no one. However, her rescuer Derek is gradually getting under her skin and she’s not sure how to deal with her feelings. This all makes for an angsty read, something I really enjoy.
The author does a great job of grabbing your attention from the very beginning and with the story being action packed and fast flowing, you really are carried along on Derek and Julia’s journey.

Normally dystopian novels are a hard sell for me. I must admit, after The Handmaid's Tale, not much else can really top it for me, well that and the last four years of our lives had made it pretty difficult as well. Brittany Anne has done a really good job of making me fall in love with the genre all over again. I really love how she has made it once again believable and passionate with her writing and the characters. I feel for these people and believe they really could exist in the world they are in. I need that escape and really love that Ms. Anne has provided a wonderful one again with book two of the Can’t Resist You series, Born to Fall. I would start with book one because that sets us up with The Resistance and how we got to where we are with the characters and what kind of world we are finding ourselves in as we read and fall in love with a whole new couple as they traverse the adventures and hardships to find that happily ever after you so want them to have. I look forward to seeing what the next installment will bring us.

This author continues to amaze me with her attention to detail and her ability to make you feel as if you are right there with the characters. This is a fast paced story that once you start reading you won’t want to put down till you finish or pass out like I did. I had to know what was going to happen next. This is Derek and Julia's story ,he has always dreamed of saving the world so that drove him to join the Resistance. She wants no part but that changes once she meets Derek. When faced with a situation can she trust him enough and can she finally move on from her past? I highly recommend reading this to find out what happens next. A beautifully written dystopian romance series. Born to Fall is book two in the Can't resist you series by Brittany Anne. This book picks up where book 1 left off except it is focused on Julia and Derek. **Read book 1 first**
Julia has been freed of her enslavement to her husband aka slaver, but her pain and fear still lingers. Derek is one of the leaders of the resistance. He has a lot of responsibility and work to do to help free the brain washed people that lived under the UNR's rule. However, he is attracted to Julia and he wants to help her. He just doesn't know if he can. Julia is attracted to Derek too but with the hurt and mistrust that she still has she isn't sure if it could ever work.
I absolutely loved this book. We got to see more what living in a UNR community looked like and the damage it caused. We get the chance to see Julia in a compelelty different light and we get to know Derek too. This series is chilling because this could be a future realty. It is a what if series and that is terrifying. I cannot wait for book 3

This book is 2nd in the series, and I was super excited to read this book. I highly recommend reading book 1 first in the series in order to get to know the characters and background. You meet Derek and Julia in book one so I was very excited for book 2 about their characters. I love that the Derek and Julia captured my heartstrings. Derek is all about saving others and is part of the Resistance. One of the people that Derek saves is Julia and he is totally drawn to her. Julia has been through a lot and back and I could never imagine myself what she went through. As Derek and Julia grow closer, so do their feelings. Can they both overcome their fears and love but make sure the Resistance is safe?
The world as we know it in this book is just so dark, technology no longer exits and just how people are treated. This is such a great book that is mysterious, action and intensity along with some great moments of chemistry between Derek and Julia and I am so looking forward to book 3!! 5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Born to Fall (Can't Resist You Book 2) by Brittany Anne is a sci-fi dystopian romance story. This is the second book in this gripping tale where the world has been turned upside down. I loved the first book and this one was better. Brittany writes with passion, and it shows when the story pops off the page. Lies and manipulation, deceit and drama, danger and suspense are but a part of what this story has. Throw in some mystery and lots of passion and I was riveted. I love that it is told in multi POV which is my favourite way to tell a story because it really adds that extra layer that connects you more to the characters. The world building is well done, and Brittany paints a devastating picture of what could happen. It is raw and compelling and has you hanging on each and every word. We journey along through action-packed adventure and all the lies and secrets, hopes and pain, sorrow, and frustrations, right along with the characters.

This is a science fiction; dystopian romance story and it is beautiful. This story is written in multi-point of view (POV) and adds a deep richness to the story that allows the reader to form a connection to the characters. Julia is a fascinating character that is both well written and beautifully heartbroken. Too many things have broken Julia, and she is scared to let anyone close. Derek wants to be close to Julia, but he has both a job and a duty, and he isn’t sure if he is making the right choice by keeping his distance from her.
This book is for lovers of romance, sci-fi, fantasy, dystopian, military romance, and strong leading characters. A solid 4 out of 5 stars.

I love getting into a series and reading a different point of view for each book. This book followed Derek and Julia’s story. We met them in book one but they weren’t the focus. After the fall the resistance is trying to help the people. They have taken over a UNR compound that has become their new base and their new home. Derek is a resistance leader and the youngest of the “brothers” in charge. Derek saved Julia from the UNR and is still trying to make her feel comfortable and safe in the resistance. Julia is terrified of everything and isn’t sure who she can and cannot trust. The resistance is looking into a town that killed two of their men and learn that their leader is good at hiding the truth. It looks like a great community with caring people and leaders, but is it? This book is action packed with plot twists and turns and there is even some romance thrown in too. It was a great read and I can’t wait until the next one comes out!

This is the second book in this series and it is my suggestion that you read book one before diving into this one. After reading the first book I was excited to jump into this one and it was as good if not better than I hoped it would be. In this story we learn more about Derek and Julia. Rain, Hunter and Derek saved Julia from the monster that tortured her and did other unspeakable acts toward her. Derek is very patient with Julia and I love how he takes care of her and helps her realize her strength. I got so engrossed in this book that I read it in one sitting. There is suspense, danger, action, manipulation, romance, and wonderful characters which makes this such a good read. The author does an exceptional job building a world that drew me in and kept me entertained. I highly recommend this book and I can't wait to read what comes next.

Rain, Hunter and Derek saved Julia from the monster that tortured her and did other unspeakable acts toward her. Derek is very patient with Julia and I love how he takes care of her and helps her realize her strength. I got so engrossed in this book that I read it in one sitting. There is suspense, danger, action, manipulation, romance, and wonderful characters which makes this such a good read. The author does an exceptional job building a world that drew me in and kept me entertained. I highly recommend this book and I can't wait to read what comes next.

Brittany has got me hooked on this series! The development of the characters is just mind-blowing. Each book is original, unpredictable, enthralling, action-packed, fast-paced and entangled in off-the-chart chemistry. Having read Book 1- I like that I could pick up right where I left off, no need to worry, each book can be read as a standalone; however, I encourage you to read Book 1, Born to Fight to keep abreast of the saga. Born to Fall was a welcoming break from reality. I commend Derek in his patience towards a broken Julia, which added to the novel’s relatability. We’ve all endured some form of brokenness- but when the right person(s) comes along, they give aid to our healing process. I am completely invested in this series- would it be wrong of me to say that I’m highly anticipating Sawyer & Kayla’s story? Kudos to you Brittany, for your brilliant storytelling and for creating stories that captivate your readers. You have my undivided attention. 😊

This was another incredible book by Brittany Anne’s Can’t resist you series. I though ally enjoyed the first one so when I seen there was a book 2, I was super excited to read this one, and I was not disappointed. This book starts off after book 2, the characters are well written and the main points of who they are, are set. There was a lot at stake for both characters, Derek and Julia. This was so well written that It was like I could actually feel the feelings that were being written about. How scared or unsure about something, the sadness but the joy, it gave me all the feelings. I was hooked in with this book right from the beginning and couldn’t put it down. I really wanted to know what was going to happen next. I really can’t wait for more adventures from this series. Amazing read, and page turner for sure.

This book is just as amazing as the first one in this series is. Brittany Anne is such a talented author. She has such a way of painting such a vivid picture and drawing you right in from the very first page. Julia suffered at the hands of the same monster that tortured Rain. She was just recently rescued from her living hell by Derek and her wounds are much fresher, more raw and closer to the surface. She hasn't had the two year breather that Rain had to begin to heal. She feels herself drawn to him from the beginning but she is terrified to trust with all that she's been through. This book is a must read that you definitely won't want to miss. It's full of romance, action, heat, and so much raw human emotion. I cannot wait to find about more about the other two brothers and read their stories as they're released.

This is the second book in this series which is just as great as the first book. I highly suggest reading the first book as well to help your enjoyment of this series. This is a well written story that has characters that not only bring the story to life but also keep the story engaging. This is a fast paced military romance story. I had a hard time putting it down as it was just as entertaining. This is about Derek and Julia. All he ever wanted was to save the world which led him to join the Resistance. She wanted no part of this world until she meets him. She has a past but will it resurface when she is faced with a chance at love? What happens next I highly recommend reading this book, you don’t want to miss it. This is a great story that I truly enjoyed. Action and romance, what more could you want in a book. Worth the pick up.

This is a five-star review of Brittany Anne's "Born to Fall," the sequel to "Born to Fight," which also received a five-star review. Anne's storytelling abilities earned her the rare five-star review. Anne weaves a world where technology has disappeared and people are enslaved to central political authorities of the East and West. Their hopes are found in a member of the Resistance named Derek whose primary goal is to save the world. His attention becomes distracted by Julia whose goals and ambitions are not clear. Is Julia too obvious to be a threat to the Resistance and Derek is just losing focus on his obligations? Does Julia pose a real danger to the Resistance? Is Derek overthinking Julia's role in the situation altogether? Could this distraction be the real danger to the Resistance? This is sequel was worthy of the wait and great addition to the first book.

Derek and Julia have an intricate romance, that has more substance than other, more whimsical romance stories. Julia's history of abuse and torture make her falling in love with Derek complex and fraught with her growth as a character. She comes to realize the depth of her feelings for him, but her emotional and psychological health is still healing from her imprisonment. Her past associations with sex are non-consensual and shame-filled. Because of this, her reaching for him often is two steps forward, one step back. Luckily for her, Derek is supremely supportive of her, and doesn't seem to mind her tentative steps toward him. This romance, set in a post-apocalyptic world where revolution is rolling makes it even more emotionally fraught. Julia must come to terms with her fears and learn to stand up and fight for what matters to her. Everyone's safety may be hinging on it.

This book, just like the first, was so intense and action-packed. The push and pull of the two main characters, along with the dystopian storyline had me fully captivated the whole way through. As soon as I started it, I knew I was in for a treat, and I ended up reading it in one sitting as all of the detail the author wrote with had me fully immersed in the story and unable to put it down. I also loved the many different POV’s, it made the story feel really well rounded!

The second book of the series was just as good as the first! I was drawn in from the beginning and didn't want to put it down. The story picks up where the first one ended. It takes up the story of Julia and Derek. Both have trauma that they are dealing with from their past and for Julia, her more recent past. As they are sent out to do a peace mission, the past gets tangled up with their present. Can Julia truly trust Derek? Can Derek truly help Julia move on from her past?
I have to say that I have truly enjoyed this series. I like the fact that there are multiple points of view from several characters, not just the main two. I also appreciated that the author didn't have to give them their own chapter to express their thoughts.
Definitely an 18+ book.

I absolutely love that we got to know and understand not only Derek and Julia more, but Hayden too. The possibility of this story being or becoming a reality is a serious fear I have. If not just like this, something similar. I honestly would not be surprised. This is one dystopian world that I would not wish to be a part of; it is terrifying to imagine.

This is the second book in the series. We meet or get to know more of Derek and Julia. They have a strained relationship. Each fears the other won’t accept them as they are..scars and all. This is filled with ups and downs as they work through their fears and outwardly battle strangers who seem like more. Julia is a wonderful strong female and I loved getting her perspective on things as much as Dereks.
Its been a while since I read book one. Honestly I did not remember much of the story or characters. Once I got into this one and realized it offers snippets of the first I started remembering. I enjoyed how this book offers looks into the brothers possible futures. And seriously if that epilogue is ANYTHING to go by…I cant wait for Hayden and Anna. It should be full of action!

When I first started out reading this book I was a little apprehensive. The first book was good but I didn't much care for it. But holy cow!!! This author really knocked it out of the park with book two, I am throughly impressed. I feel like even though it's about two different people in this book, it wrapped some things from the first book! You can see the passion she put into her pages so much that they stand out, they don't fall flat and the world becomes much more fleshed out than the first book. I highly, highly suggest you read the first one before reading this one. It picks up where the first book left off. I'm really proud of how far this author has come!!!

This is the second book in a series, a post apocalyptic series following the leaders of the Resistance. Here, we are following the story of Derek. Derek was determined to never fall in love, but he found something irresistible in the woman he rescued. Julia was kidnapped and held hostage and has had many scars, both mental and physical. I enjoyed watching Julia overcome her past and learn to trust again. She tries very hard to grow and trust Derek. Derek has to try hard to be patient with her and not scare Julia away. This was a sweet love story amidst fighting to free people, mystery in the community around them, and dealing with a fallen world.

Born to Fall by Brittany Anne is the second book in the Can't Resist you series. This book is absolutely fantastic. I loved the first book but this one is even better. I was captivated by this story and the world the author has created. It feels like such a dark place, simular but so different. I love the whole idea this book is based on and the way the author creates such a vivid image is amazing.
I loved Derek and Julie. I thought their story was so haunting and intense. They had both been through so many things.
I am hooked on this series and I can't wait to see what is next.

Born to Fall (Can’t Resist You – Book 2) by Brittany Anne was just as amazing as the first installment in this series. While we already had all of the fantastic characters and some background on each one, Ms. Anne gives us so much more in this book that you want to put it done. But what happens when every choice they make could be their last? Will they choose carefully? The book is so powerful and full of emotion that you will find yourself furiously flipping the pages to find out why happens next between Derek and Julia.
