Sandra is opposed by a threat thought long-buried in this exciting conclusion to the Dungeon Crafting series….
After recovering from the effects of a Core shard taking over her mind, Sandra had developed a way to bond with nearby Dungeon Cores, “pacifying” them in the process. Consistent culling of the Monsters within their dungeons would still be required, but no longer would the surrounding areas be dangerous with wandering Monsters sent out by those Cores.
Accomplishing all of that will inevitably lead to a greater responsibility that Sandra wouldn’t be able to handle on her own. Fortunately, the surrounding races are more than willing to step up and contribute, thereby slowly taking their lands back from the hostile Dungeon Cores trying to kill them all. With their help, Sandra’s dreams of being able to ignore the world and get back to her peaceful crafting are getting closer to reality.
Unbeknownst to the crafty Dungeon Core, however, an old foe learns of Sandra’s existence and is bent on destroying her – one way or another. Only through perseverance, the help of her friends, and quite a bit of crafting will she be able to defeat this adversary; doing so will not only ensure the safety of her Core and the surrounding lands, but it will also establish Sandra’s presence in the wasteland as something meant to stand the test of time.
In short, it is time for the craft-loving Core to establish her dynasty.
This Dungeon Core story contains LitRPG/GameLit elements such as statistics and leveling and a heavy crafting emphasis. No profanity, sexual content, or harems.
Now, I would say it was a reading marathon. I finished all six books in two weeks and learned about a lot of crafting.
Sandra always wanted to craft but couldn't because of her deformed hands—at least she couldn't do it before she died. After more than two hundred years in the void, the only things that kept her 'sane' were memories and reciting all the crafting recipes that she learned while alive.
And when the creator gave her a chance to become a Dungeon Core, she used her knowledge to help people living around.
I liked the series a lot band enjoyed it immensely. I can see now how the enchanting possibilities described in the book led to the creation of the The Fusionist series that I read before this.
I found Jonathan Brooks Crafters Series so far to be mostly entertaining. Unfortunately it's not written in a really compelling Style. The Narrative tends to be just explicative and telling rather than showing. There's a lot of ground that is covered over and over again with things that are said dozens of times about the motivations of the characters in the story. For me I found myself skipping through large sections of the story that work detailing minutiae or things that were not particularly important in my mind. That said, this is a great series with regards to ideas. Are lots of entertaining an innovative ideas regarding Dungeons and the world is complex and interesting. If this were any other type of series rather than litrpg I would have given it three stars oh, but that is a death sentence with litrpg books and the series doesn't deserve that.
The final book in the misnamed Dungeon Crafting series. After having set very hard to reach stakes, rules that are completely designed to prevent normal ways to succeed, the volume attempts to wrap up the story, allowing our dungeon core to finish what she was tasked to do. I'll have to admit the mechanic used is original, but at six books, the ending couldn't come any later. In practice, the story could have been made to end with only five, as the extra final bad core still feels completely extraneous.
It's kind of hard to end dungeon core series, and while Brook's Station Cores is probably the best resolution the author made, this one isn't up to that level.
And then you get the "bonus" short story, which, while unrelated to the main story, is not going to make me confident of the next stories involving Sandra the non-crafting crafting dungeon.
But is it the end... As usual the author crafts a fun and enjoyable book and even more impressively finishes another series. Wish other authors would take note. Sandra finished fights off her nemesis with brains and.... Crafting. The thrill of discovery that drives her is her strength. This discovery is also what makes this series fun as there is always something new. Crafting rules. Not only did the author give us a fun read and series. He also gave us a great teaser at the end. Definitely looking forward to the future.
Will Sandra, The Crafting Dungeon, Ever Get Time To Craft The Things About Which She Dreams?
The odds of her being able to do so seem quite slim. She has so many tasks to attend to. She must build a coalition of four races surrounding the Wasteland. She must prevent any other local dungeon being destroyed; while making sure the four newest dungeons grow to level 25. And finally she must neutralize a massive dungeon to her North that is centuries old and easily twice her power.
Fortunately, she has friends among the Dwarves, Elves, Gnomes, and Orcs who live in the lands surrounding her dungeon in the Wasteland. They and her own inventiveness should be all she needs to succeed.
I thought this was going to be the end of the crafting dungeon but it looks like there might be more to her story. This one is very good and wraps up the story well. The pacing is a bit slow the first book and then almost too quick once conflict begins after the halfway mark. That said it is enjoyable and I look forward to further stories in this world.
A great end to the story arc. I look forward to seeing where the author takes the story in the next series. I really like the main character glove all of the crafting. Keep up the great work!!!
This series was one I picked up because I enjoyed the other series' written by the author and this one seemed intriguing. I'm glad I followed that impulse and read through this wonderful set of books.
I really love dungeon core series and especially ones that really get that WOW factor off repeatedly, this one was certainly different than your classic dungeon world and I really enjoyed it and am sad the series is over.
Good enough that I want more of this story, the action and inventions help make the story excellent. It seems that all stories have problems that have to be solved and this bunch has interesting problems and solutions.
If you've been reading and enjoying the series so far, this will definitely scratch that itch and give you a nice sense of completion, while leaving things open for more stories to come.
Good ending to Sandra’s saga. There was a caustic victory but they prevailed over the evil dungeon. The author also left breadcrumbs for future series when the human start breaching into the other races’s lands.
I've been waiting this whole book series hoping Sandra would get a body and when it finally happened, it was such a huge let down. Huge missed opportunity for excellent reactions and story and it was just glossed over in such a wasteful way that I'm a little flabbergasted to be honest.
While I generally enjoyed the series and was consistently giving these 3-4 stars, the climax and (currently) final book killed the entire series for me. I almost didn't want to finish but just pushed through the pain.
