Cruel. Sexy. Savage.Austin looks like a dream, but he's my walking, talking nightmare.I wanted to keep my head down and lie low at my new school, but Valley High's king, Austin Hunter, isn't having that. Austin and his crew rule the school and have no problem letting me know that I'm beneath them.I've always been in my sister's shadow, but now being the object of Austin's hateful gaze makes it impossible to hide.He won't rest until he breaks every inch of me.Until he makes me pay for setting foot in his school,Until he makes me scream...To make matters worse, Austin isn't the only one who's taken an interest in me.I now have a mysterious stalker who hasn't made their intentions clear.Meanwhile, I'm still trying to figure out if Austin wants to hurt me or just wants me for himself...'Heartless Savage' is a bully romance that contains mature themes and explicit scenes that might be upsetting to some which is why this book is recommended for readers 18+. *I always want my readers to have the best reading experience, so as of November 5th 2021, the book has been updated and typos have been corrected.*
Ivy Blake lives in the countryside and when she’s not writing romance, she’s taking long walks, reading great books and catching up on her favourite TV shows (while snuggling with her cats of course!).
Where to even start. First off, I skipped through this book as soon as the two main characters met 🙄 what a mess that was. The dialogue throughout this book was so immature, I know its a high school and I know they are only 17/18 but christ the conversations were not good at all. Secondly, Austin ( the 'hero' ) calls Megan ( the heroine) Virgin based on the fact she's reading a book 🤣🤣 and then continues to refer to her as 'Virgin' throughout the first half even after she tells him she isn't one. Can we just point out though that someone should NEVER get bullied for veing a virgin it's just childish and stupid and made me feel like I was reading a book between much younger kids which gave me the ick 🤢 Thirdly, there were barely any scenes between Austin and Megan before the whole 'I love you' was exchanged, like what, did I miss something? Because the time they spent together where he wasn't bullying her was barely anything. Fourthly, Megan, what a doormat she was. Girl just no! You jumped into bed with this jackass so damn quick it was embarrassing.
I felt no connection with either of these characters and their growth was non existent. I've read alot of bully romaces and this unfortunately just didn't hit the mark at all. It had potential but it just didn't do it for me.

Skimmed 90% of this. Immature characters. Bad dialogue. The H calls her “virgin” during the entire first half. She’s not even a virgin. 🙄 Sex scenes are short and clunky and silly. No character/relationship development. Didn’t connect with the characters.
1) this is a bully romance yeah i get that, but it’s 3% into the book and it’s the heroines first day of school and the hero is already teasing her and calling her a virgin for reading twilight?? so then the nickname sticks and he calls her a virgin everytime he approaches her
2) the H is bullying the mc and she is intrigued and feeling aroused i would say? idk it was basically insta “love” or like — i cannot begin to explain this, it was just bad. really their entire relationship made zero sense
3) it’s still her first week of school and he finds her at the library, decided to lift her skirt up and take a picture and proceeds to use it as a blackmail so she can tutor him… okay. she does this & this is how they eventually form a “bond” and get closer. i really don’t understand how these two can love each other but okay
4) the stalker plot was so unnecessary and poorly integrated. i guess it was just to connect steven — austin’s step dad to megan. but honestly it was just weird
overall, did not enjoy this book and i don’t like to DNF books which is why i didn’t put it down sooner. ❌

This the time book in a new series and is Austin and Megan's journey. This is a well written story which has family, friendships, emotions, challenges, twists and turns, suspense, intrigue, stalking, secrets, revelations, undeniable chemistry, and love, which all leads to an entertaining, and captivating page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
This is just not working for me. Megan has no back bone. Austin's treated her like shit, but she just confessed to Sophie that she likes him and gets all defensive when Sophie calls her out on the fact that he's done nothing but treat her like shit.
Plus Megan decided she has a stalker when all that's happened so far is that she's seen a suspicious looking character who appears to be casing her house on a few occasions. How that equates in her mind to her having a stalker at this point is ridiculous.

I’m not sure how a book could get published without having a decent editor. There were so many typos that it truly took away from being able to enjoy the story. The story also felt rushed. Overall it was an “OK” read…
Very, VERY Familiar YA Story With The Usual Shopping List Of Tropes
** May contain Spoilers**
It’s very rare the I don’t finish a book I’ve started but this story is the exception.
It’s a familiar tale, main female character Megan arrives in a new town starting at a new school.
Valley High.
Has a younger sister and mother that seem to patronise her, and undermine her.
She practically becomes a bit of a doormat as far as her relationship with them is concerned.
First day at school finds herself on the receiving end of bullying by Austin Hunter, the school alpha, and hottie. Austin along with his friends Nate, and Ross run the school.
( Yeah, typical YA fair. We have read it dozens of times before)
Of course the back story is, that Austin, as controlling as he is at school, has no control in his home. He has to deal with an abusive stepfather, Stephen, and a mother that is reluctant to leave him.
On top of THAT drama, Austin is failing in his classes. It’s imperative for him the he graduates so he can go to college and leave his fathers abuse behind him.
Now comes the obvious YA trope where Megan is blackmailed ( in a particularly disgusting manner) by Austin to tutor him. Thus, providing the plot with ploy to bring these two together.
The rest of the book ( up to the point I read) revolved around alternating POV’s as Austin fights against his attraction to Megan, while dealing with school and his toxic partenals, and Megan questions her growing attraction to Austin as he treats her abominably, but she is horny and desperate for his D wants him to F her.
Plus, the author decided to throw in another trope….A Stalker…
It’s not that this story was badly written, ( having said that. The characters were a little superficial) it was just that the situations and characters have been featured before in a gazillion other angsty teen novels.
So, nearly 50% in I decided to cut my losses as I was starting to predict where things were heading and the story wasn’t keeping my interest anymore.
Megan and her sister move and attend a new school. For some reason, Austin and his friends bully her from the start. Austin needs her help and as they spend more time together, their chemistry sizzles. Though Austin is attracted to Megan, he can’t seem to stop bullying her. Megan is trying to fight her attraction to Austin, deal with the bullying and then thinks that she also has a stalker. With all the emotional angst that Megan is going through and Austin’s troubles in his personal life, these two will need to figure out if they can beat the odds to be a couple.
I thought this romance was suspenseful and entertaining. There were a few twists that I didn’t expect and though Austin seemed like a real bully in the beginning, I quickly felt bad for him as we learned more about his life.

I really liked this book. I'd get really annoyed, then I'd have to remember their age and what was having behind clothes doors. I did feel like some questions were left unanswered and some things brushed over. For instance, what Austin's mother did was unforgivable, but it was basically left with, "they're talking." Also, I felt that the way the book started out with the issues in Morgan's family, the favoritism, etc. was left like a big hole that needed to have her mother explain herself, bud nada. It ended with a hea, but with a few open wounds. That was a little frustrating. This is this author's first book and quite frankly I gave it four stars because even with those issues it was an enjoyable read. I already have another of her books to see how it reads.
I am a lover of all bully romances, this one was no different. I truly enjoyed the storyline. I love that the author listened to critics and re-edited her piece. That helped with the word flow a lot, I also did take note of the British English present, although I did find this confusing because I couldn’t tell where the book had taken place. So,I was missing details. I enjoy being able to picture what the characters look like and their locations.
I feel like Megan was a simple character, she was also very sensitive especially when it came to Sophie which I hated because she never expressed herself to her bully or to her sister, Lola and their mom. That would’ve been a great final piece to the puzzle.
I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Megan and Austin. She's just starting at a new school as a senior, since her moved moved for her job. She's worried she won't fit in. Her sister Lola is the favorite and can do wrong. Austin spots the new girl on the day they move in, she lives on his street. He is going to torment her just because. When he blackmails her into tutoring him in English, things change. Unfortunately things at his home are tough. When Megan's stalker gets more aggressive, she finally seeks help. But not before things go sideways.

Ok where to start. There were so many things wrong with this book. 1. No background information given on either main characters. 2. A is weak. At school he is this big man that can beat up anybody but he cant stand up against his s-dad. 3. M is just horny, she hates him for like a week and then falls into bed with him. 4. His mom is useless, she leaves him and then dont contact him at all. 5. M is so stupid, why the hell would you meet your stalker outside without telling your mom. Regardless of pics nobody is worth your life. I like IB books but this one was all over the place.

Austin who lives in an abusive household becomes the new girl Megan's bully. As the two spend time with each other as Megan tutors Austin, they emotionally open up to each other without judgment. They have an intense physical chemistry that can't be held back once they give in to their desires. The author throws in a little mystery with Megan's stalker, who in the end was not whom I expected. It was a fairly good story, but had some grammatical errors that needed correction. Would love to see a Sophie story in the future of the series. Otherwise an overall good read.

I want to start saying I love the storyline and the main characters. The story got me right away. I was all in. I loved Austin and Meagan. I found it very rushed, and there was still so much that could have been added and said. I had a lot of questions like " How bad was the stalking? Why did Austin seem to hate right away the in-depth version. Why did Austin's dad decide to stalk her what made her so special? Why did he hate Austin so much? Why did his mom stay so long? Where did she go?" Like I said, I loved the storyline. I just wish I could have read more about the inner working of each main character.

There were things I loved about the story and things I didn't. I loved the chemistry between the two characters. I loved that our FMC wasn't a timid virgin. I loved the sex scenes. I thought they were steamy and well written.
I felt that the blackmail story was a bit of a stretch. How did he even know she could help him study. The stalker element wasn't explained. fully. The ending was a bit rushed. There were quite a few grammar mistakes. Nothing against the story. It could just use better editing.
Overall I really liked this story line, it had way more depth than your average bully school romance. Austin is a very conflicted hero, dealing with a lot at his young age, but I had a hard time connecting with Megan, she is probably one of the weakest heroines I've read, way too naive, so a lot of her reactions got me so mad, it was frustrating. I'm not saying that's wrong, but it's just not my cup of tea.
I loved the stalker touch, it added a lot of mystery to the story and the ending was really good.
Austin is the monster of the story. He's a bully, bossy and sets his sights on the new girl Megan.
She's blackmailed into helping him with his english grades but things take a sinister turn. He's dealing with too much to mention and he also is fighting an attraction to the new girl. Sticks and stones may break bones but these two have the ability to break each other. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.
I enjoyed this story. The first day at a new school doesn't go so well for Megan, Austin becomes a total thorn in her side from the beginning. But as days go by he starts to feel possessive and protective of her while still bullying her. Megan also has a stalker but the police won't do anything. Great story but needed a proof reader, would love to see more of Austin & Megan.
I liked how the author built the suspense in this story. I liked the characters as well. I just didn’t buy into the drama surrounding the mystery because it wasn’t hard to figure out. His mother’s character seemed unrealistic as well. I would have liked more options and further details.

I absolutely loved this book. It was beautiful, heart breaking, but ended with a HEA. The chemistry between Megan and Austin are off the charts. The struggles they both face and the beauty of a budding trust and love they discover with each other. Excellent read, great story, and can't wait for the next one
I kept excited and couldn’t wait to see how it ended between the two, I admit it reminded me of the cruel prince, however there was one thing that left me unsatisfied. 1. Megan’s mother’s favoritism towards Lola is never fixed or the fact Megan’s relationship with her mother is never reconciled clarified. It’s just there.
Two stars is more than I was initially going to rate this, but it caught me in a good day, so one star goes to Sophie, the only decent character in this story, and another star for the writer because I read way better books written by her more recently, so I'm hoping this was the reason why, early works are far from perfect for most authors. Cheers to evolution and improvement for all of us!
Everything is written in past tense. Was driving me nuts. I kept waiting for there to be a part where it came to present tense as though she was telling a story in the past. It didn’t come. Maybe that’s just the authors writing style. Personally not for me.
Megan has to deal with a new school and the ruling kings of it. Her younger sister doesn’t want to associate with her. She also has a stalker. What more could go wrong? Read this to find out. I enjoyed this and hardly put it down from starting it. The stalker was not who I expected but it made perfect sense. What do you think?
Austin starts out as a bully but by the end of the book my heart hurt for him. No one knows what someone else is going through sometimes. Megan has her own drama going on.
