Fractured Rock Star #3

Fractured Trust

Rate this book
Summer Mackenzie’s high-school sweetheart shattered her heart years ago when he betrayed her. Now he’s a world-famous rock star and the last thing she wants is to see him again when her life is crumbling around her.

Forgetting what he did is impossible.

Ignoring the way he still makes her feel is a losing battle.

Saying yes when he throws her a lifeline that will mean living and working closer to him? That would be crazy…

Noah Taylor has spent the last decade living life to the fullest. As drummer for Fractured, he’s got everything he could ever want. But seeing Summer again reminds him of a time when she had been everything he wanted. That was until she’d made a decision that had torn his heart to shreds.

He shouldn’t care that her life has imploded.

He shouldn’t try to help her.

And he definitely shouldn’t start remembering how good they used to be together…

Their chemistry might be undeniable, but second chances don’t come easy. After all, shattered hearts can be mended, but trust, once broken, might just stay broken forever.

Oh good Jaysus, this was painful to read. Summer’s crippling insecurity and trust issues, page after page after excruciating page.
Any one but Noah would have given up.
I have no flipping clue what he saw in her.

Noah's been agitated ever since seeing his first love. His current lifestyle of empty fun isn't working for him any longer, so he's figured out what to do to help him move on - go see Summer, get some closure, then move on. Uh huh...

Summer's got baggage for days. It's that very baggage that ruined her relationship with her first love. Is she going to let that baggage ruin their relationship, AGAIN?!

Fractured Trust is angsty, steamy and entertaining. I found Noah to be really likable, but I have to admit Summer got on my nerves with her insecurities and the way she just could not get out of her head. Her past had done a huge number on her and she couldn't get her shit together until the very end. I wish she had gotten herself straight much sooner so I could have enjoyed them as a stable couple for a lot longer. But I liked Noah and the rest of the Fractured guys enough that they made up for my dislike of Summer's nonsense.

Fractured Trust
8/20
Noah was the drummer for Fracture and Crossfire and he was crazy restless since seeing his ex girlfriend Summer. Alcohol and women were not making him feel any better so he made up his mind, he would go see her. He needed peace of mind, and get the answer of why she broke up with him and why she married his friend. Once he got that settled with her he could move on with his life and forget her. But you know what they say about best laid plans of mice and men? Yeah not going Noah’s way either. I love how hard Noah try’s to not like Summer and she’s dancing around her feelings too, it’s so entertaining. When they finally got together I thought my Kindle was going to burst into flames, set off the smoke alarm and wake up my grouchy neighbor who’d tell me I should be quietly reading the Bible. What?! And miss all this hotness, not a chance. This book was delicious from start to finish. It has you hooked from the first pages and never lets you go. There are no boring pages of stuff going through Noah or Summer’s head, every thought or conversation moves the story forward like it’s supposed to. I loved Fractured Hearts and Fractured Dreams, but this book is my favorite now. This book in my humble opinion is perfect and I highly recommend it and I’m giving it five stars.
I can’t wait to read about Zac and hopefully the other two guys from crossfire…hint hint Ms Dalgleish.

This bad boy rocker romance should have received 4 stars, but Summer got on my last nerve!

Yes, Summer's father destroyed all trust a woman should have for her man, but why did Noah have to pay for her father's sins?

Ridiculous!

Another great rockstar romance story! To be fair, I did the beta read for this book and I know that there are going to be some changes for the final edit which I have not yet read. I do know however, that even with the changes, the story remains the same and this one is a second chance romance that you will love.

Things were looking good for Noah. He had the girl he loved, Summer, and the band that he played drums for was just starting to take off. He and the band take off for their first tour and while away, he receives a voice mail from Summer saying it's over with no explanation and she won't return his calls. Noah never understood how or why it happened and despite spending the next decade living the rock star dream with many willing women, he just can't get over her. Then after 8 years, he sees her at a small venue and is consumed with finding out why it happened so that maybe he can try to win her back or at least get some closure. It takes almost a year before he finally reaches out to her to get some answers and when he finally finds out the truth, he does everything in his power to show her the kind of man he is and how much he wants another chance. Because the chemistry is still there as strong as ever and she can feel it to. She has a lot of trust issues and insecurities, but they stem from outside sources and not anything caused by Noah. So there is a lot of push and pull and some very steamy moments before they get their happily ever after, but that's what makes this story so good!

I highly recommend this book as well as the 2 before it. I suppose it could be read as a standalone, but for the best reading experience, I think they should be read in order.

A 2nd chance romance set in the world of a rock band, what more could you want in a brilliant not to be missed read. Noah is a 💯 swoon-worthy hero and Summer the girl he never forgot, lies and betrayal pulled them apart over 10 years ago, but the chemistry and pull to each other is as strong now as it was then, but will Summers insecurities pull them apart again.

I’ve wanted Noah’s story since book one. I needed to know why he was so jaded on love and why he was so against his sister falling in love with his bandmate and best friend.

We meet Summer, his first love. She ripped his heart out but things aren’t what they seem and their was a puppet master playing the strings.

Can fractured trust be repaired?

Annoying Female Lead

It’s very clear that what people want from a romance is diverse. There’s so many great reviews here but this is my least favorite of the series so far. Her insecurities and lack of desire to fight for love just grated on me. I wanted to slap her and tell her to stop being an idiot because it was so clear that he adored her and would never intentionally harm her. He deserved someone better and listening to him constantly have to reassure her was frustrating. I struggled to finish this but I’m so invested in the series that I pushed through.

Long, drawn out and uninspired.

This was a very long, belaboured read. Summer, the lead female character, completely ruins the book. She is an insipid, clingy, whiney woman who behaves like a child instead of an adult throughout the story. The constant back and forth about the relationship between Noah and Summer was excruciatingly painful to read. The constant repetition of feelings and thoughts dragged an already uninspired, tedious plot into a torturously boring storyline. It was a struggle to finish and the end did not come quickly enough.

This author has a great use of words. That being said I couldn’t get into the book. I love a good angsty read and this book was that until about 30% in then it went flat. There was a convo with hi band mates that was sooooo descriptive I thought this is gonna be good but then….
Anyway 2 stars for that paragraph.

I’m super enjoying this series. So why the two stars? I didn’t care much for Summer. I was screaming at her (in my head) to do what she needed to do (and what she finally ended up doing) for like half the book. She was just too frustrating for me. Side note - Eden is an awesome sister. 🙂

I looked forward to Noah and Summers story after the build up in the first two books. This book was excruciating and painful to read. Summers lack of trust and wishy washy attitude was exhausting. I don’t know what Noah saw in her but she was not a keeper kind of woman.

I found myself with a couple mixed emotions when it came to Fractured Trust, but the bottom line is it was impossible to put down until every last page was devoured. Noah & Summer are each other's lobsters & planned a future together until both their hearts were destroyed. She broke up with him because of something she found out, and he never forced her to give him the reason, nor did he fight for her. This is where it got dicey for me because maybe just maybe, a little communication could have saved 11 years of being apart. He finally hunts her down, finds out her life has gone down the tubes so he gets her a job with his sister, despite the fact that it would mean they would see each other quite a bit, and when that happened, he was quite mean to her. I felt like everyone blaming her for things left a bad taste in my mouth, but that's just me, and it was an issue that had me back & forth about what the rating would be. Anyway, that's enough from me since I can't give the reason why so you'll have to hit those one click buttons to find out! At the end of the day, I had to give it the full five stars so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

So Noah and Summer high school sweethearts before they went their separate ways. A running at one of his band concert 11 years later his old feelings for servicing. Without giving more way this was an angry emotional book with a satisfying ending.

I loved that this was a second chance romance. Throughout the story we see Noah and Summer who are tiptoeing around their feelings after all these years. And when they finally come together their chemistry was undeniable.

I enjoyed that the story let us catch glimpses of when they were younger. It helps to build their background story as to why there was a lot of trust issues. And it helped build Noah into the man who wouldn’t give up on summer.

I read this as a standalone but I will be going back and reading the other two books in the fractured rockstar series.

Drummers rock!

Noah has been put through hell by Summer, a woman he has loved since their late teens. Summer lives with a crippling fear of being cheated on while Noah is out on tour which is a fear that Noah's friend, Deacon, takes full advantage of. Without even discussing it with Noah, Summer is shown a picture of Noah kissing another woman by Deacon so she breaks up with Noah without checking the truth. This begins an eleven year absence from each other.

While I still enjoyed this story, mainly because Noah is so likable, I found Summer to be irritating with her hurtful actions. She should have seen a therapist sooner!

My goodness…

Ok so Summer is hands down the most annoying, unstable character ever! Good grief she’s so damn lucky Noah even put up with her yikes!😬But all in all, she got her crazy under control and got the therapy she needed lol I do love the high school to now love story and all of Noah’s amazing friends and his sister Eden being a great support to Summer, and that their love story survived.👀😂Definitely looking forward to Zac’s story to come soon! Totally loved the whole Fractured band members and I’m a new fan of L. M. Dalgleish♥️

3.5 This is tough to rate. I like this series. I have loved Noah in this series. He was good in this book too. I wanted to love Summer. There were some things I liked about her, like her personality, but she just seemed too insecure. I know she had a past that made it hard to trust but her constant doubt of Noah got annoying. It was too much. I powered through finishing it but skimmed some. I did enjoy that we got to see Eden more but wish we would have saw the friendship between Lexi and Noah. The end also made me, once again, curious about Zac and excited to read the last book.

This book is a really good example of Love vs Lust. Noah loves Summer but I never felt it reciprocated from Summer. The first half was going strong and then it just kind of fell apart when they decided to sleep together again. Summer should have been in therapy ages ago, the 3rd act breakup was unnecessary, and the reunion was clunky and rushed.

I hated female main character. She was so insecure. That was the premise. If he was hot as cover photo don't you think you'd try a bit harder. I'd take root canal over reading this story. Author explains Summer's issues but still hard to read.

Dnf at 40 percent. Can’t stand books like this, if they literally had one conversation instead of still fighting almost halfway through the book everything would have been resolved and saved years of pain🙄

“Fractured Trust” (A Fractured Rock Star Romance) book 3 by L.M. Dalgleish

**Spoiler Alert**

OMG… Just when I think the passion couldn’t get any better, this book proved me wrong.

I had to stop reading for about 10min through chapter 28… This chapter had me on my knees begging… Begging for her to accept and to love again… Begging for him to never let go and make her see…

Noah thought all his dreams came true but having his heart ripped out just made him realise that you couldn’t have it all after all… or so he thought…

Summer is in a world of hurt. Her heart was crushed eleven years ago and that pain has never disappeared. She thought she could go on and forget but seeing him again just proved that theory was so wrong…

When two people are meant to be together, they will find their way back to each other.

This story had me crying ugly tears. The pain that Noah and Summer endured was crushing because of the deceit of a friend who for his own selfish reasons could not be forgiven!

As the story unfolds in front of you, you live day by day with the characters. You feel their pain… You cry along with them… You feel their anger at the deceit of who they thought was a friend. The longing for the love they once shared? You feel that to your bones! During chapter twenty eight I had a mini melt down myself. I had to stop reading for a few minutes to get my heart to stop pounding… I felt so sorry for Noah.

Summers insecurities because of her fears of past hurts, crushed me just as much as it crushed Noah. Their love was so pure, they just needed to find that again.

So much story to read. Beautifully written. Will there be a story about Zac? I would love to read about his happily ever after…

A true second chance love story. Amazing!

Noah and Summer met in high school. He was always one of the popular guys and Summer was a pretty quiet person. But as Summer was walking to class she heard someone call to her. She turned around and Noah was trying to catch up to her. She looked around thinking there was no way he could be calling for her. But here he was, standing in front of her. He told her he loved her name and after they dated a while he would tell her his feelings about her name.

They dated for 2 years, then Noah and his friends got a huge opportunity to launch their band, Fractured. But because of Summer's fear of him finding someone else while on tour, she broke things off with him. And after a very short time, got engaged to one of Noah's friends.

Now, eleven years later he actually sees Summer at one of his concerts. When he moves to talk to her, she has words with him and walks away. Then hating that she needs his help, she agrees to contact his sister Eden about a new business that she needs help with.

There is so much these two have to work through and open communication to go over what happened in the past. Can they make a new start and fight for what fate put them in?

So good. The rest if the band have huge parts in this story as well. Must read more. On to Zac's story. Enjoy

I stumbled upon this series in Kindle Unlimited and have never been happier. The fractured series has been an unexpected Rockstar Romance. If you are not sure about the trope because you aren’t sure you can deal with some of the typical rockstar behaviors like drugs, drinking and being manwhores than the Fractured Series is for you. These Rockstar Romance are not typical at all. The men of Fractured are soulful and thoughtful each carrying their own baggage and searching for more. The journey of these characters and learning to trust your heart was powerful. I really loved them together. I loved their journey and the awakening that happens between both. This series has so much love and emotion I highly recommend it. ckstar behaviors like drugs, drinking and being manwhores than the Fractured Series is for you. My rating: 4-stars.

I've had a hard time rating and reviewing the book. The plot was good. The on tour setting was great. However the two main characters fell flat for me, Noah and Summer. They have a past together from when they were teenagers. Neither of them seem to have matured much since then. Their relationship was very physical and offered little to none on the emotional side. While I understand the trauma from Summer's childhood having a big impact on her as an adult can be problematic. But even as a fictional character and how important mental health is these days, Summer should have already been getting the help she needed all those years ago. Noah being so whipped for Summer was annoying. Let's be real for a moment. There's not really any straight males that would be so patient and compassionate with someone they care for or love. I don't know, I just feel like the characters took the amazing storytelling away from the book. I love the author's writing and storytelling but this book is my least favorite in the series. I will be continuing to read and finish the series. I am very interested in reading all about the quiet and mysterious Zac.

The more I read, the more I love these Fractured guys. I've adored carefree, fun-loving Noah since book one. It was an absolute pleasure to finally get his story, and what a story it is. He's been in love with his high school sweetheart for years. Even though she broke his heart, he never stopped loving her, just stopped letting himself think about her. Then he sees her again, and all those old feeling, the good and the bad, come back. Only, Summer thinks she's the one whose heart was broken by the carefree rocker who claimed to love her.

When they finally sort out their feelings, their story is so sweet. One of my favorite aspects is the exploration of Summer's anxiety. I love that she acknowledges that her anxiety is costing her a relationship with the man she loves, and her work to face that anxiety and cope with it. Plus, Noah's patience as she works through it is *chef's kiss* perfection.

I think Noah's my favorite Fractured member, we'll see if Zac can top him.

Wow, Fractured Boundaries And Nuancing An Eleven Year Temper Tantrum, Where A White, Cishet Male, Thus All The Social Power, Who Is Also Rich, Thus Has Personal Power, Convinces Himself That SHE Had The Power.

Holy shit, he is treating her mental and emotional being as something to save her from.

Jesus, stop, its not a partners to fix.

Eden is a terrible friend who shames her friend for not feeling safe.

That it toxic and abusive.

Trauma can never be cured and she cannot control when it rears its head, only manage things that vontribute to it LIKE HIS NEED TO BE FAMOUS.

This abuses everything the Mental Health and Physiological trauma community stand for.

Shaming Eden as a villain and an anti hero because the SOCIALLY POWERFUL and PERSONALLY POWERFUL wants to control her trauma.

Patriarchial Parable.

Noah is not consistent in his actions.

He demands she accept what he hasnt made her feel.

Its toxic.

Covery Narcissism.
