Little Red Riding Hood is all grown up- and she’s queer. Manon has been caught in one scandalous situation too many, now she’s on the run. When she finally sees a lone cottage in the woods she thinks she’s found her salvation, only to find that she’s stumbled into a den of wolves. But she soon finds that these wolf-men are much more interested in pleasure than they are in pain.
"This book has the coziness and disarming sex appeal of Stanley Tucci. It's the sweet poly monster romance we deserve." — Aveda Vice
The Witch's Wolves is a queer, polyamorous erotic romance novella that is equally very steamy and very cozy. Manon flees into the woods, townspeople after her because of her sexual escapades with people of all genders. She finds refuge in a cabin with two wolf-men who have an existing partnership, but take care of her and quickly welcome her into it. There is quite a bit of sex, but also caretaking and very sweet, domestic moments.
This was super short and an enjoyable read. The heroine is a witch and is running through the woods until she stumbles across a cabin. Two wolves live in this cabin and the three have fun times together. Things happened pretty quickly, but I did have a hard time picturing what these wolves were supposed to look like...so it kind of took me out of the story. But for a quick, fun fall read, I'd recommend this!
What a pleasant surprise! I’m always hesitant to read RH, poly, menage stuff because I feel like authors use it as a device to add smut/kinky multi-partner sex rather than developing an actual relationship/chemistry between the participants, but that isn’t the case here at all.
At the beginning I was a smidge nervous this might be author soapbox-y (I read for fun and am not interested in being lectured), but other than a small whiff of negative religion stereotyping (that they’re judgmental assholes) … it wasn’t too preachy.
The book opens with Manon on the run from the evil religious townsfolk and their prejudiced priest that is intent on burning her alive for engaging in sexual acts with others and drawing pictures about it. (the tipping point was the priest’s niece) Running from something growly, she seeks refuge in a cabin and meets the H’s, wolfmen Bastian and Aimon. And what follows is a lovely portrayal of Bastian and Aimon’s relationship and how Manon is woven into it.
My only complaint is I struggled getting a firm grip on the worldbuilding. It reads like it is taking place in historical France… maybe… based on the close-minded townsfolk that believe sex is bad and witches should be burned at the stake. But it also has some paranormal tidbits that didn’t really flow with that “world” and wasn’t consistent.
For instance, we’re told she’s a powerless witch, then told the church merely labels women that enjoy pleasure witches, but then one of the dudes is talking about having a spell cast on him by an actual witch that caused a rash and smoky ass, but again later we’re told witches aren’t really magic rather practice actions and intentions.
Confused? I was… Also, the H’s are two wolfmen that Manon is SHOCKED to see, but later they’re talking about being in a pub. Where is this pub? Is it a supernatural pub? Do all the magical/monster creatures just hang out together hiding from humans? Is she a witch or just a human? How did these two wolfmen come to be? Do they have a pack? Parents?
Was it a huge deal?—No. Was it distracting?—Yes. Did it get in the way of my “picturing” the story?—Yes.
Bottom Line- This was honestly one of the best representations of a polyamorous relationship that I’ve read… and she did it in less than 70 pages!! Granted I haven’t read a ton from the genre, but the relationships were well developed, the dudes had distinctive personalities that didn’t blend together, and they communicated the potential change to their established relationship… in a nutshell, they weren’t just boinking. There was a smutty vibe throughout, but I never doubted their feelings for each other. It was surprisingly tender especially since this is monster erotica. Bravo.
“And maybe she was a little magic, because for a moment she could see her future laid out before her, a lifetime full of joy and beauty and love.”
This was an absolutely hot, tender, delightful erotic novella. Ellie brings such care and intentionality to her writing—I admire that deeply. I couldn’t love Bastien, Manon, and Aimon any more!
I follow the author in Instagram so was inspired one day to purchase both her novellas (the other is The Naughty List which I will save for a holiday roundup.)
This is a novella that is steamy cover to cover, about a woman banished as a witch and two wolf-men. If you don't like pregnancy with your romance, WHICH I DON'T, skip the epilogue.
She's not really a witch, which kind of betrays my reason for reading it this month in the first place, but ah well. At least I supported a self-pub author!
Ohh i liked this. I'm not super into erotica and especially not when it's paranormal but even though this wasn't my genre on paper i wanted to read it for the polyam rep. And i really liked it! I especially loved how unrepentant they all were, Manon about being a queer woman who enjoys sex and is not shy about it, even though it got her shunned in her village, and the established couple of Bastien and Aimon about being all they are.
I only didn't love the epilogue but overall it was an enjoyable and soft read.
Manon goes from escaping a trial for being a witch (for slut-shaming/homophobic reasons) to finding a safe haven and love with two wolfmen in the forest. Bastien and Aimon don’t get much by way of characterization—learning about how long they’ve been together, what they do for work, etc. would have elevated my enjoyment even more. Regardless, this was such a sexy MMF Little Red Riding Hood retelling!
Characters: Manon is a 24 year old white queer artist and non-magical witch. Bastien and Aimon are wolfmen (not werewolves; more like a wolf-human hybrid) who are bi or pan. This is set in France.
Content notes: FMC runs away from home after she’s arrested for being a witch, homophobia (her arrest was really because she had sex with the priest’s niece), past religious shaming and purity culture, past slut-shaming by village, on page sex, MMF menage, DP, erotic drawings, orgasm control, rimming, voyeurism, masturbation, pregnancy epilogue
This is a Little Red Riding Hood retelling! This is about Manon, who is running away from her village who has labeled her a witch. While she is running away, she comes across a cabin in the woods. When she goes in to seek refuge, she meets the inhabitants of the cabin. Aimon and Bastien are monsters- part human and part wolf. They live together in this cabin and are in a relationship with one another. But once they meet Manon, they realize that they might want to bring someone else into their relationship.
This was so fun to read! I loved all of the characters and their romance together! I honestly wish that it was longer and that we got more!!
“Have you come to play with us, darling?” _ “Bas, everyone wants to be seduced by me. I can’t believe you’d suggest otherwise.”
THE WITCH'S WOLVES was a sexy and warm hug of a novella. A little bit Red Riding Hood and a little bit Beauty and the Beast but super naughty. My only small complaint is that Aimon and Bastian were so similar in character, down to their flirting style and choice of endearments, that it sometimes made it hard to keep track of which one was which. Otherwise, read this if you want a super hot and short monster romance.
What happens when a trio of paranormal bisexuals find each other in the woods? Insta-lust and insta-love. This novella is super short but maintains its charm. If you were intrigued by C.M Nacosta's monster romances, I would try this novella for a quick pick-me-up.
Overall: 2.5 stars. This is a fun, quick read with fluff and steam that I wish was just a littttttle bit longer.
A runaway woman befriends two werewolves in a cottage in the woods and becomes their lover: that’s it, that’s the plot. Don’t expect a lot of world-building or action sequences here, but what you do get is a lot of cuddly fluff, declarations of belonging and love, and werewolf smut. I wish the novella had been just a little bit longer so that we could see a little bit more build-up before the three characters have sex: I think that would have been beneficial from both a smutty and an emotional perspective. Still, for what it is, this is well-written and manages to be both cute and sexy.
The story was good, but too fast and not detailed enough… There was just something missing the whole time I was reading it.
All the characters were great, there was chemistry between them, everything made sense... But I knew too little about them and their feelings to truly fall in love with everyone.
Overall it was really sweet. But maybe too much, lol. So much that it was boring at times. Don't get me wrong, I love HEA! But this novella just lacked “soul and personality”, if you know what I mean. It was nice and pleasant read, yes, but it didn't leave a big impression on me and I know that tomorrow I won't remember this novel anymore. 6/10.
I read this over the weekend and it was utterly delightful🥰 sexy and cozy, this book was best way to spend a lazy morning— I wanted more!!
Content/Trigger Warnings: story centers on a queer person running from a priest (who is only mentioned & not discussed in detail) and there's a threat of witch burning— author lists these on her instagram in a post
Content Notes: I don't think ages are mentioned, but Manon is a young, queer white woman, and Aimon & Sebastian are two queer wolf men— not exactly werewolves, a sort of wolf-man hybrid. very soft, comfy sort of book; Sebastian has his own blend of tea he makes, they're both very welcoming. good vibes all around! This also takes place in a sort of medieval France! Its kind of a Little Red Riding hood retelling, and @ one point Manon masturbates while listening to Aimon & Sebastian bang it out
Some stories don’t need hundreds of pages to feel complete; sometimes a whisper in the woods, two wolves at your side, and a witch with a heartbeat full of magic are enough to remind you what fantasy should feel like.
This book was only 57 pages, and yet here I am — sitting like an emotionally confused squirrel wondering why something so short hit with the softness of a bedtime story and the heat of a candle burning a little too close to my fingers. I picked it up for a quick escape, fully prepared for shallow smut, and instead got a surprisingly warm, atmospheric, red-hood-in-the-woods fairytale that made me feel both comforted and slightly feral.

Brief Plot Summary
The story follows a witch living in the woods — the forest’s quiet guardian — who encounters two wolf-men bound to her in ways she did not expect. There is a sense of ancient magic in the trees, whispered instincts, and the gentle encroaching hunger of desire. What unfolds is not a grand adventure but a small, self-contained moment of connection between a witch and the wolves who become more than just protectors.

Atmosphere, Tone & Setting
THE ATMOSPHERE.If there’s one thing this novella absolutely nailed, it’s the setting. The forest feels alive — mist-heavy, enchanted, almost sacred. The tone is a blend of cozy, sensual, and mystically dark, as if someone mashed together a folklore lullaby and soft erotica under moonlight. Everything feels damp, green, glowing, and intimate. Not horror-dark, not cliché-fantasy — something softer and more cinematic.
---
Characters
Our witch is gentle, observant, and quietly powerful — not dramatic, not loud, just grounded in her magic. The two wolves have distinct personalities despite the short page count: one is warm and tender, the other sharp-edged and growly. Together they form a dynamic that feels protective rather than possessive. The chemistry is surprisingly mature for such a small text — more sensual tension than outright smut, but definitely enough to make your eyebrows lift.

Critical Analysis
This little book plays with themes of belonging, protection, instinct, and the safety of surrender — not in a dark way, but in a warm, enchanted sense. It’s a fantasy romance that understands that intimacy can be gentle and primal at the same time. And honestly, I appreciate that. Not every steamy novella needs to be chaos and trauma; sometimes we need softness wrapped in claws.
For a novella, the pacing is impressively balanced. Nothing felt rushed, and yet nothing dragged. The worldbuilding is not extensive, but it’s evocative — we understand enough to love the space the characters exist in. The writing is lyrical without being purple, sensual without being crass.
📌 My critique? Just that the length works both for and against it: the story is powerful because it’s compact, but it also leaves you craving a deeper exploration of this world. Had it been even 20 pages longer, perhaps the emotional arc and the lore could have expanded more richly. But for what it is, it’s beautifully crafted.

Final Verdict
A short, sensual, atmospheric woodland romance that feels like a fairytale made for adults who enjoy a quiet kind of magic and a gentle kind of heat. It doesn’t promise epic stakes or deep lore, but it promises a mood — and it delivers. Perfect for a one-sitting read when you want something cozy, witchy, and a little bit wicked.
If you want a tiny escape into the woods with a witch who deserves love and two wolves who know exactly how to give it — this one is worth your hour and your heart.
This is such a wonderful story! It was so delightfully steamy and lovely at the same time. I loved Manon, Bastien, and Aimon, and their relationship and the focus on consent. My only complaint is that the story is too short. I want more!
“And maybe she was a little magic, because for a moment she could see her future laid out before her, a lifetime full of joy and beauty and love.”
If your looking for a short, spicy but sweet read, you should absolutely give this a try.
So wholesome and delightfully filthy at once, MacGregor wrote another erotic short full of heart, consent, and really hot sexy times. A quasi-French retelling of Red Riding Hood, Manon finds herself fleeing her village on charges of witchcraft/indecency to the home of not one, but two, wolf men who have the one thing she's been missing. If you like your monsters on the cinnamon roll side, this is a perfect, cozy quick read.
Manon escapes into the woods and finds solace in the arms of two wolf-men who love one another…and have plenty of room in their hearts (and bed 😉) for Manon too. A delightfully, steamy romp in the woods with this novella.
Hottttt!!! Its obviously just smut so most other storylines are completely abandons, like sis you didnt want to go back to the forest to get your stuff?? But its whatever.
