When people told me that I didn’t believe them. I mean, seriously, it’s a high school. How bad could it be?
Turns out it’s worse than they said.
I can’t trust anyone at Twisted Pine. Or my family. My uncle’s a liar and my cousins are bullies who’ll do anything to hide their secrets.
The only person I can trust is Jackson. I love him, and can’t imagine my life without him. But everyone’s determined to tear us apart. My cousin, Braden. People at school. And now? The police.
Jackson’s in trouble and I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to lose him. I can’t. Not after losing everything else.
When I came to Twisted Pine my biggest worry was passing my classes, but now? I’m just trying to survive.
Now the La Jolla community High School to deal with another girls being murdered.
This time, the ‘Twisted Pine’ Queen bee and self proclaimed Miss Popular, Kirsten.
Found floating in the ocean, behind Jacksons home strangled with a school tie around her neck, the whole school is buzzing.
Jackson is arrested as her alleged killer so, Rumor now has an alleged killer as a cousin/brother, and an alleged killer boyfriend.
How on earth is a girl supposed to study and finish her last year of High School?
Not only is she surround by two (alleged) killers but her Principle is creepy as F, and her father(?) has disappeared down to the boarder, leaving her a creepy Cryptic phone message.
Love this series of books. You know why?
There is a gripping plot that sucks you in...Yeah, there’s romance and sex, but it doesn’t take up page after page of the book, telling us everything in graphic detail.
The flow of the murder mystery storyline is always to the forefront.
The hook up’s with Jackson blend perfectly and don’t feel plonked down to spice things up.
I don't know bout anyone else but I sure don't feel any connection between Rumor and Jackson . Feels more like he is just using her not actually wanting to be with her. Boring.
Normally I would give this less stars. However I like the story. And I think the author has a good way of telling her stories however, and I noticed this issue all through the series. What in the hell is Maria's kids name? Is it Shelby or shayla? It's like whoever edited this book couldn't figure out what the kid's name was. And honestly it's getting really annoying. It's throwing the entire feel of the book off. If you want to call it a spoiler go ahead. Because honestly it's going to screw you up if you're reading this for the first time. So Maria's daughter, Shelby Shayla plays a major part in this book series but we don't know who she is. Because the names jump back and forth back and forth. Honestly it's getting frustrating and I'm starting to hate the series.
Amazing writing. Throughout this series I had a hard time deciding who is good and who is evil, to me that shows brilliance from an author. The plot and storyline are solid and you have no choice but to keep going even when sleep should be more important!!! Can’t wait for the 4th book and for all the questions to be answered.
OK, my first review ever I started this series. I had to completely finish the four books in one day. the main character while I felt she had a strength I also felt the author kind of left some gaps. that’s why I gave it four stars. Overall minus a couple of typos very enjoying and definitely a great summer read

Wow all the twists and turns! I'm looking forward to the final book i can not wait to find out who killed Kirsten and to see what Rumor does with what she knows.
More twists and turns are revealed. Whose lieing now? How do you know whose innocent and who to turn to when even the adults lie too. Such a fast tempo that you do not want to set this book down.
