uma história MARAVILHOSA.
As revelações sobre aquilo que ela queria descobrir, apesar de clichês no âmbito de novels nesse estilo, foram trabalhadas de um jeito mt lindo e emocionante. A relação dela com o Claude e o Ethan simplesmente adorável. Um slow burn que valeu muito a pena pois foi muito além de um simples romance.
Só não dei 5 estrelas pq em certos momentos acabei me pegando um pouco desmotivada pra ler.
Queria ler as side novels mas infelizmente não achei onde 😭

My low rating for this novel boiled down to this: betrayed expectations.
I'm about 70% through the story as I wrote this.
The characters are shallow and contradictory. It's one of those where, if you read this without using your brain, then it's an enjoyable read. When you start to give it serious thought, there were questionable holes everywhere...
Another review online mentioned that MC bonded way too fast with the young boy she's looking after and I agree - it felt even more bizarre because there was no other reason to it rather than Claude being "cute". It was mentioned in passing about how MC felt guilty regarding how she changed the "story", but it was only visited once or twice and never mentioned again. It was a pity, if that angle had been explored more it would had given the character more depth, but as it was, Claude was simply loved because he was cute. That's it. In fact, you could replace the young boy with a puppy and the story wouldn't change. You can replace all his dialogue with a puppy barking and the story wouldn't change.
The MC herself was a flat character. 90% of the time her entire personality was "being a doting caretaker". ...but maybe that was intentional? Maybe it's because she's _such_ a doting character who failed to 'raise' her disciples properly that they all turned out messed up. I mean, she's so doting that... one disciple basically committed murder and terrorism, and whilst she killed the disciple's collaborators, she let the disciple himself got away almost unscathed.
The other 10% of the MC, the more interesting aspect where she's the head of the magician tower... was wasted. There were contradictions in this aspect as well. She's supposed to be the strongest magician to ever exist, and yet she failed to notice that her personal disciple was dabbling in dark magic...? She's capable of supposedly impossible feats, including pulling out dark mana out of a person, but failed to notice any trace of her closest disciple learning dark magic...?
The MC was also said to be doing what she did out of a desire to make things right, and she's committed to look after Claude to fulfill her promise to her dearest best friend. ...if she's such a dear friend... it's bizarre then that she never even tried to find, or at least check in on how her friend's doing. She's the greatest magician to ever live, surely she had a way to check how her dearest friend was doing...? For all she knew, the best friend could be dying in a ditch somewhere while the MC frolicked with Claude in luxurious comfort.
The ML was also a forgettable contradiction. He had no other trait other than being handsome and influential, so basically like every other ML in this genre. At the start he presented an interesting case of being scared to approach Claude due to not wanting to hurt the young boy, which gave him a foundation of a character... then the MC solved that and obliterated any possibility in him becoming an interesting character.
The more I think about the ML, the more bizarre it became. He spent 6 years avoiding Claude out of fear that he would hurt the young boy with his power. Then he met the MC, learnt of the 'price' she had to sustain to control his power, fell in love with her and decided to pull her in anyway, consequences be damned. ...consistent characterization, what's that?
The romance was... weird. Despite mentioning a few times that she's lived twice as long due to her parallel lives, she didn't display any maturity I'd had expected as the result. She fell in love and developed a crush like a teenager... maybe I'm too old to be the target audience for this novel...
UPDATE: I finished the story, more out of spite than anything. That war near the end of the novel was just... the ML let the entire country got dragged into a war for... what, exactly? The number of casualties in the timespan of a year can't be small, and yet he's supposed to be someone who protects the empire... by sacrificing civilians, is it? The ML was stated as someone who basically could control the country, meaning he intentionally let the war go on, on purpose. Even the interesting plot twist reveal near the end couldn't save this story for me.
And whilst the ML's household was said to be a prestigious one, I raised my eyebrows so much reading about the servants gossiping about their masters and not getting reprimanded for it. Add to the fact how much the servants were so obsessed with the MC near the end of the novel, you'd think the MC specialised in charm and brainwashing magic... the kind and friendly gestures the MC showed the servants was disproportionate compared to how the servants nearly worshipped her. It was uncanny, and ultimately, it was childish. ...maybe that's all this is - a childish wish fulfilment fantasy.

I made it almost halfway through the book to chapter 87 before finally calling it quits. There's something about this book that just made me uninterested in continuing reading it after a while. I think my main problem was the Korean writing style, which I'm not very familiar with. The writing was supposed to be kind of light and fluffy to match and (I suppose) emphasize Claude's cuteness, but the whole tone got boring after a while.
I spent a couple days during Memorial Day weekend only feeling like reading a few chapters per day before deciding to call it quits. I mean, I was expecting to pull an all-nighter reading a good book during the holidays since I had time to do so! But instead, I watched a bunch of anime, since it was more interesting than this book.

É uma história fofa, com personagens interessantes. Mas tem seus defeitos, o enredo foca demais para o meu gosto na parte complexa da divisão da alma dela, do outro mundo e também nos discipulos dela, acho que o tempo dedicado a essa parte da história teria sido melhor aproveitado relatando mais da relação dela com o Claude e desenvolvendo o relacionamento dela com o Ethan. Pareceu pra mim que muita coisa ficou confusa na história e muito do enredo foi desnecessário. Gostei do final mas poderia ter sido bem mais completo, não gostei que a Sarah não contou tudo para eles e o Claude nunca vai conhecer a irmã...

The beginning is confusing at first when Sarah kept mentioning about the clairvoyant & the novel and the truth is actually cliche but the way the twist is revealed is actually so cool?? Both ml & fl are green flags, Claude is too cute to handle, I love everythingggg 😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Me gusto, pero no me gustó que el segundo príncipe haya "muerto". Siento que a la autora no le gustaba y siempre lo dejaba de lado. Que triste. Aparte de eso, me gustó demasiado la familia que se formó. Ame cada momento.
