Titus- My large stature and intimidating looks serve me well in my career as head of security and bouncer of the city’s most popular gay dance club. In my personal life? Well, not so much. Not many men approach me, and those who do only see me as a challenge. They either want to brag about getting banged by the bear or are simply curious if I’m “big all over.” Spoiler I am. If anyone does look beyond my intimidating physique, they’re turned off by my borderline control-freak personality. Everything changes when a fight breaks out one night in the club and I come face to face with a beautiful little man. Owen- I can’t get the sexy bouncer out of my head. Titus is everything my wet dreams are made of; tall, broad, strong and gruff. The kind of man who could take charge and own me the way I crave to be owned. The kind of man who never gives a pretty boy like me a second look. My poor dating luck won’t stop me from dreaming of what I really want; a man to be my boyfriend, my Daddy, my dom…my everything.*This M/M romance is for readers 18 and up! It has no cliffhangers or cheating and a very happy HEA. It contains a firm but loving Daddy (no age play), his very pretty boy and scenes so hot they’ll make you sit up and say “Yes, Sir!”**My stories tend to be low on angst because it hurts my heart. They are, however, packed with sexy scenes, heartwarming moments and a healthy dose of humor. Author’s Note Thank you for your interest in my book! My stories tend to be low angst because it hurts my heart; I like getting to the good stuff and live for fluff. If “instalove” isn’t your thing, my books may not be for you. I want my readers to finish my books with a smile on their face and a fierce case of the warm and fuzzies. Laughter is guaranteed, and each read delivers its own type of drama. Thanks again for taking a look and happy reading!
I live in rural Ohio with my husband and two sons who drive me nuts, but I love them with all my heart. I enjoy reading and writing romance of all types, but gay romance is my forte and favorite! Twice the sexy men? Yes, please! My books tend to be low angst because it hurts my heart, but they do contain lots of heartfelt moments, steamy scenes and a healthy dose of humor. Thank you to everyone for checking out my page and I hope you enjoy my books. Happy reading!
4 stars. I am honestly loving all of these low angst M/M novels I’ve been reading lately. They just make my heart so happy. I just want fluff and hot smut and no unnecessary drama and I’ve been hitting the jackpot fortunately. This was a new to me author but I’ve heard that a lot of her books are like this so I’m definitely going to be reading them. The characters were delightful. Owen was precious as all hell and I loved, loved, loved Titus and how kind he was. He’s such a gentle giant. Their romance was great and they had such wonderful chemistry. I also loved the side characters, Nick and Jim and I would love to read a book about them because they were absolutely hilarious. Overall, a fun read and I’m looking forward to reading more by this author.

This is an older book by Jayda Marx (published and written in 2019) and it shows. This book is just a smidge too long, and the instalove doesn't really capture the same magic as the other books she has written. With it's position in her catalogue in mind, I did expect that it wouldn't be as polished as I am used to from her other works. There were few grammatical or spelling errors, so at the very least, that was not an issue. However, I did have some complaints about the book.
For one, Titus and Owen while being opposites of each other and certainly having stand-out character traits, did not necessarily feel very in-depth as characters. I think they were more caricatures of the roles they slid into, of "grumpy teddy bear giant" and "twinky twink", if that makes any sense. Their daddy kink relationship was fine - they also had a Sir/Boy dynamic in the bedroom, and some of the orgasm control aspects to it were hot to read across this book and the novella. This book is also longer and slower-paced than Jayda's usual instalove - the love confessions coming later than expected, and then a sudden punch of a bunch of dramatic moments during the end. Overall, I will admit that Titus and Owen's relationship was cute, and fine.
The issues I had overshadowed the experiences for me. For one, Titus describes his past as "going through hookups like used tissues". I have no problems with an MC who has an active sex life pre-commitment, nor do I have an issue with an MC who decides they'd rather a commitment than hooking up. However, the phrasing really seems to be shaming of the men he was with previously, and it would've been easy to just say "I previously had a lot of hookups, but now I'd like to pursue a relationship." Someone can still illustrate a longing for romance and commitment without disparaging the previous experiences had in their life. Meanwhile, Owen being his opposite, is a 20-year-old virgin. His explanation for why he keeps his virginity is the most asinine thing I've read. I have NO ISSUE with an MC who chooses to not have sex with someone before X reason. Religion, personal understandings of their pacing of relationships, whatever. People should have the right to decide when and if they wish to have sex with someone. BUT. Owen's reason is, and I quote, "But I never made love with anyone because I can’t be with somebody like that unless they’re really special to me. It probably sounds stupid, but it felt like it would be cheating on the person who was meant to be my first.”
What? What? Unless you equate your first to a concept of true love (and I get it, it's a Marx book), it just doesn't make sense to me to feel like it's 'cheating'. I don't know, Owen is this very child-like character despite this book having no age-play, and I think that the framing of virginity being a "gift" in the book as well just smacks of purity culture and is not my favorite.
Those issues aside, we also have the rather serious issues that occur later in the book that are brushed off with not even real resolution besides "well, what can you do?". I don't want to spoil, but there is a moment where something seriously damaging in the realms of family and homophobia occur, and even if someone has been estranged from their family, what occurs is very cruel and I do not think a day with the besties and painting toe-nails is enough to wipe away that pain. Especially because a time-skip occurs right after and it is never mentioned again.
The epilogue/last chapter was sweet! I liked the eternity collar bit. It also featured the "drunk after one sip" trope which I find rather cringey, but I knew that was coming when it comes to a Marx book. Overall, not the best.
DNF at 37%. This book is too generic for my liking. I gave it two stars because it’s not a bad book, is well written and plenty of others will enjoy it. It’s unfortunately too boring for me and there is nothing unique about it when compared to other books in the sub genre.
Omg this book will give you a cavatie for shure it was so sweet and i loved the relationship between owen and titus and i loved the nicknames they gave eachother they were adorable this was my first book by this author but i will read more books
I found myself really enjoying the dichotomy of the two characters and how much they clicked together. It was a really sweet, lower angst read that brought a smile to my face, even though the casual sex banter between friends tended to be a bit much for me.
If you want raw and hard move on this is not the book for you, if you want sweet and hot grab this book, this is about a sweet young man who only wants to belong to someone to be that someone's boy , Owen is a small man with a big heart , Titus is a big man who has a closed heart who no one can see past his size ,this is a David and Goliath story about learning and accepting love .
Short, sweet, and insanely sexy. Titus and Owen were the perfect opposites attract. I always love sweet and protective Daddy and sassy and sweet boys.I would absolutely recommend this book.
Ok, I do love a good Daddy/Boy story and this one did not disappoint. I liked that it was low angst and very sweet and sexy. Titus and Owen were hot and I am looking forward to book 2.
Again Ms Marx gives us two great guys coming together..Titus and Owen were beautiful together..Very sweet...COnsidering Titus' size Owen was a perfect match for him...Another easy read and one that is perfect for the world we live in right now x
If you don’t like insta-love low-angst happy stories then this book isn’t for you. I enjoyed this book. Man my heart went out to Owen, his parents were neglectful a*seholes. At least his mum gave him money after they kicked him out of home and she found that he was staying at a homeless shelter. It wasn’t for Owen’s benefit but more for hers, as what would it look like to have their son staying in a homeless shelter. Owen used the money to buy a yoga studio and the apartment above that he lived it. Owen and Titus meet at the club that Titus co-owns with his friend Jim, and is head of security for the club. Titus breaks up a fight between two men and sees Owen on the ground in the feral position. They hit it off but don’t exchange numbers which Titus is kicking himself about. They end up running into each other at the pharmacy a few days later, and exchange numbers. I thought Titus and Owen were perfect for each other. Yes, their relationship went at warp speed, but because of the nature of their relationship involves a lot of trust as Owen needs to give up control and needs Titus to take full control without taking things too far and hurting Owen. They were both open and honest about what they want and need. This book was filled with a lot of love, support and laughter. I loved how supportive Jim and Nick were when Titus told them who he is too Owen. They never judged them, and even became great friends to Owen. I’m looking forward to reading the sequel novella and getting more of Titus and Owen. I’d recommend this book, series, universe and author to others.
Not my favorite book by Jayda Marx.. I was excited to read about a very big burly softie guy with a femmboy but I was kind of disappointed. The daddy/boy Dom/Sub dynamic didn’t work for me here. I couldn’t picture Titus as a dom, he wasn’t convincing in the bedroom when he takes charge. I like the Daddy kink but it was too much in this book, inside and outside the bedroom, out of the house, in public places, in front of everyone. I could barely remember their names since they call each other Daddy and sweet boy all the damn time. Owen the femmboy sounded like a little boy most of the time and couldn’t do anything without his daddy taking all the decisions for him even what to eat and drink. It made me uncomfortable at some point.
Another thing that bothered when they had sex for the first time. “ - Sorry sweet boy I fucked you without condom, I know I fucked more than half of the planet but I haven’t been with anyone for a long time. - Not a problem Daddy I trust you to keep me safe. - “I should have spoken to you about this earlier. Damn right you should’ve talk with him about that before fucking him. The most important thing in a daddy/boy Dom/sub relationship is the communication and honesty.
Overall it’s not that bad bad, I liked the banter between all the characters.
I read the 2nd book as well.
Oh I wish there was a book a book about Nick and Jim.
Another awesome book by Jayda. I love a big daddy Bear with a smaller boy. They just make great snuggle partners. The story centers around The Cockpit, a BDSM club co-owned by James and Titus. Nick, James' partner becomes Owen's BFF. This book gave me all the feels. A small misunderstanding between Titus and Owen gets resolved quickly. Owen owns a yoga studio which was a great job choice for Owen's character and made for some fun sexy times. I loved all of Owen's crop top sayings. Titus accepting Owen's love for makeup made me love him more. Especially when he let Owen put makeup on him and let him paint his toenails. A guaranteed HEA with an epilogue. Bonus for Jayda having a sequel I was not aware of because I'm not ready to let Owen and Titus go yet. I highly recommend this series and all of Jayda's books.
OK, I read this knowing the plot but decided to give it a go anyway, it sounded intriguing. I do not like Daddy stories. I really don't like Daddy and Littles, Daddy and Boy are a little better for me and this one sounded gentle and sweet. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking it, any kink you enjoy is fine for you, whatever floats your boat, I just don't enjoy reading them. I did like this though, it was, as I said, gentle and sweet with hardly any angst. Nicely written and with two of the sweetest men.
Owen is the boy, and Titus is his Daddy. The book featured very light Daddy/boy kink and concluded in a satisfying happy ending.
The POV is in 3rd person alternating between Titus & Owen in each chapter, and as for the plot, it mainly focuses on MCs' adorable blooming relationship.
Personally, it was hella entertaining and adorable, and I couldn't contain my awwws every time Titus does something sweet. All I could think of right now is exploring more of the other books by the author.
Nothing like the sweetness and sex scenes of a Jayda's book to get me over a reading slump. I flied through this book. If you're looking for a book with characters that fall in love from the begining with a vibe of meant to be and a BDSM relationship this is it.
I like Daddy kink. But this book didn't convince me, even the Dom/Sum was too soft and superficial. Titus since the beginning wasn't conviced about being a Dom, because he has to ask to his friends how to be one...
It's a good book, if you don't want read a lot of drama, with Instant love and die for excess of sweetness. But if you're BDSM and Dom/Sum fan could be disappointing
Titus and Owen are perfect for each other's needs. Their friends Nick and Jim were a comic relief in this story. All of these characters just mesh together perfectly that they'll just keep you entertained while reading the whole book. Perfect for a light read. Low-angst.
This story was sweet from start to finish. Owen was adorable and had little tendencies in the way he behaved at times. Titus was the best Daddy and such a good Dom. The whole book was feel good with very few moments that had any conflict and the hot scenes were very hot.
2.5 stars - Not bad, but plain average. It didn't feel realistic at all, and though it has entertainment value I couldn't completely connect with it. If you want something extremely fluffy, sweet and simple, go for it! :)
