Survivors struggle for air following the rapid depletion of Earth’s atmospheric oxygen. After a frantic but doomed attempt to stop the unparalleled ecological disaster, Max Ziegfeldt – a wealthy philanthropist – strikes out across a wasteland of his own creation. Death and insanity accompany him as he encounters his victims, forcing him to face the depths of his guilt. Terrifying visions push Max forward until he encounters a group of teenagers who’ve taken refuge in a domed greenhouse. His dark path ultimately puts him on a collision course with fate when he decides to take control of the garden; a place he’s come to believe is Eden on Earth.
Sci-fi, horror and thriller author of the novels ‘After Oxygen’ and 'Atlas Arch'. I’m especially interested in how technology such as space exploration, artificial intelligence, and biology collide with our traditional ideas about philosophy, religion, morality, and the individual.
I won this book from a giveaway here on Goodreads. It is an interesting concept, the idea of oxygen being removed from the atmosphere and the few who would find a away to survive. I enjoyed the sci-fi setting, and was interested in finding out what happened. There was a fair amount of head-hopping in scenes that made it tough to follow at times, and I felt there were a few too many characters to keep track of at times. Overall, it was an interesting read
The insanity and miraculous circumstances of life. What a fabulous new story. A plethora of characters that are unexpected and frankly human make this book come to life.
