4 Star review of Forever With The Mechanic by Allie York

Allie York is a relatively new author to me but what I have read I have enjoyed. This was an entertaining read and I was hooked on the story that Ms.York wove from the first chapter to the last.

This is Dax Thompson and Joslyn Moore and from the first moment he sets eyes on Joslyn he was drawn to her and wanted to help, despite her objections. Fate works in mysterious ways and when they meet at a bar, there is a connection. Dax is a on a night out with his friends and when he sees Joslyn he is immediately attracted to her.

Joslyn is at a crossroads, having lost not only her job, but her place to live and with her life falling apart, the last thing she wants is to be attracted to Dax.

The chemistry between Dax and Joslyn was hot and I fell hard and fast for swoon worthy Dax. Dax wants love and family, it is the only thing missing in his life and in Joslyn he believes he has found the woman he has been looking for. The question is will he be able to convince Joslyn to take a chance.

I found myself smiling whilst reading Forever With The Mechanic; it was emotional, sweet, witty and easy to read.

I didn’t realize that really these books were more like novellas, or is it short story if it is that short? I don’t know. But this was a really quick read. In fact the whole romance moved at the speed of light really. There was also one thing he said that he should totally have taken heart of himself, that “just because you keep saying it doesn’t make it true.” It followed the romance storyline that you’d expect. In fact it was almost too much of all the cliche moments, lines, types of steamy scenes. I’ve read other books by York that I enjoyed a lot. And this one wasn’t bad, but it really wasn’t anything that unique or original. I’m guessing the rest of the series is a lot of similar types of stories, but also then they are probably just quick and easy. So if you’re looking for an easy read, that you won’t have to get too emotionally involved in or have too much drama, this is probably the series for you.

Forever with the Mechanic features Joslyn and Dax. When Dax sees Joslyn across the room at a dive bar, he knows had is the one for him. He just has to convince Joslyn of that. This one was just OK for me. One thing I can say for this story is that the couple does have chemistry. I did like that aspect. The bedroom scenes were extremely steamy. As for the rest, my biggest issue was the short length. I felt like their romance went from zero to 120 in 2 pages. I get that Dax was all in from the moment he saw Joslyn, but it was a bit over the top. He basically gave her no room to breath and make a decision. I wasn't a fan of that. Had the story been longer, there would have been more space for them to build up to I Love You. I also would have been able to connect with the characters more. I felt like I knew nothing about them. I still do recommend giving it a shot, especially if you love a lot of steam in the bedroom scenes.

Forever with the Mechanic by Allie York
The Forever Collection #2

Quick easy read with instant chemistry that was steamy hot from beginning to end. If you like alpha males and the women that fall for them…you will definitely enjoy this story.

What I liked:
* Joslyn: hard worker, on her own, in a bind, fallen for at first sight by Dax
* Dax: goal oriented, successful, smitten by Joslyn, alpha male who knows what he wants
* The chemistry between Joslyn and Dax
* The steam coming off the pages
* The small town feel
* That the story was complete though novella length
* The ending (smile)

What I would have liked:
* A bit more backstory for the two main characters

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series/by this author? Yes

Thank you to IndiePenPR and the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Joslyn’s life is falling apart.

Dax is celebrating a new venture.

Sparks fly when their eyes lock across a bar.

As soon as he sees Joslyn, Dax knows she’s the one. Now he just has to convince her…

Allie York writes a sweet and steamy love story in Forever with the Mechanic. I really enjoyed this quick romance read.

I’ve read a few by this author and I’ve never been so quickly hot and bothered and satisfied. It was short but to the point and gave me all I needed to fall in love with these people!!

Joslyn isn’t how I imagined she would be at 21 years old. Even though her life got side tracked again it quickly went from bad to unsure. My first image of her in the store is different than the one I pictured in the bar but they all morphed into something different the next day.

Dax seemed way too much and while I was uneasy with the whole caveman thing, I ended up really loving this guy!

I was worried something would happen at one point and boy was I on my toes!! I really enjoyed the intensity of this couple and the entire thing!! I’m really excited for the next one!!!

OK, so I LOVE LOVE LOVE Allie's books. LIKE I LOVE THEM! and to say I loved this one would be an understatement! I couldn't put it down. Legit read in a 24 hour period. LOVED LOVED LOVED!

Joslyn and Dax meet one night at the bar. Joslyn doesn't want a relationship, but Dax is ready for whole kit and caboodle. From the first time seeing her, Dax knew she belonged to him. Little does she know this. LOL!

One thing leads to another and she is in need of some help, but of course Joslyn is trying to push him away. But, oh doesn't she know that they connection they share is too strong for her to keep saying no?

I love an insta story so much. That connection that they have to one another, even if they try to deny it from the start. I love that I could feel the attraction from each chapter and how they were with one another as the story progressed.

I also loved the other characters in the book and how they played in the development of the story and of Dax and Joslyn. I really enjoyed the assertiveness of Dax, but without him being an a**hole about it. The way he's like you're gonna be doing this (Don't wanna give too much away).

But seriously Allie, thank you for writing this, and I can't wait to read more in the series that's coming. I've always loved your books, and this is no exception. The fire and passion, and sexiness you bring to any story is SOOOO GOOD!!!

Some of my fave quotes:
1. Everett catches my eyes and shakes his head, smiling like an a**hole. I flip him off and finish my beer. - I love the friendship that these two have!!!
2. Don't ask me how, but I know she's the one for me. - See Dax knew from that first time he even laid eyes on Joslyn. She just didn't know what she was in for!

If you're looking for a quick romance that you can read in a sitting Forever with the Mechanic is the book for you. I truly enjoyed reading Forever with the Mechanic, it had a good story line and I enjoyed the characters, I just wished that it was a little bit more fleshed out as a book. I felt that it was so short that there were some aspects of the story that could have been elaborated on or stretched out. And while I love a fast romance, Joslyn and Dax went from meeting in a bar to living together in a week and married like a month later.
Joslyn is having some bad luck, first she loses her job, her apartment, and when she goes to a job interview she finds that her potential boss is the guy she blew off the night before... When Joslyn met Dax at the bar she instantly liked him but with her life in flux she knew she couldn't get involved with him, so she gave him a fake number. So when she's confronted with her regret she has to make a decision, trust Dax or run away...
When Dax saw the note he got from the beautiful Joslyn didn't have a phone number but instead "I'm sorry" written on it, he tried to catch her but when he couldn't he didn't think he'd ever see her again. So color Dax surprised when she shows up at his garage applying for the receptionist position. But Dax is determine to get Joslyn to stay in his life forever...

Forever with the Mechanic was a wonderful read!! Jocelyn has just been told that she doesn’t have a job or a place to live so her life is in shambles. She decides she needs to find a job to be able to afford rent. She goes online and applies for a administration job that requires no experience then heads out to see about a job as a bartender. Dax has been doing Construction for years and has finally made enough money purchasing his dream home and a garage on site as being under a hood is where his heart lies. All the guys on the construction team decide to take him out for drinks as he has spent his last day on Construction. It’s lust or love at first sight but she runs. I loved the chemistry between these too. Over the charts hot. Dax will do anything to have her but will she give in even really needing the job and a place to live. Loved this book. I received this advanced readers copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Forever with the Mechanic is Dax Thompson and Joslyn Moore’s entertaining tale, it’s a story that captivated me from the first few pages and there was no putting down until I had read the last line.
Joslyn has just lost her job as well as a place to live, her life seems to be falling apart but a chance meeting in a bar with Dax might just change the future for this couple.
Dax is on a night out with friends when he comes across a woman he is instantly attracted to, a woman he believes could be the missing link in his life and that’s when the fun and games begin. The attraction may be instant and the chemistry may be sizzling but it’s going to be easy to convince Joslyn to take a chance …….
This is a book with plenty of feel good factor, it has characters that are easy to love, it’s emotional, sweet, witty and entertaining. If you are looking for a book that will make you smile look no bfurther than Forever with the Mechanic.

Ms. York is a new-to-me author, and I have to say I really enjoyed this book. I was a little bummed when I realized this is the second book of the series and I missed the first one. This book certainly caught my attention from the start and kept my interest all the way through. Dax and Joslyn were great characters and had amazing chemistry. Joslyn has had to deal with a lot of challenges and she doesn't want love complicating her life. But she can't deny the attraction and connection she feels with Dax. Dax is equally drawn to Joslyn and wants to help her and believes he could have a real future with her. Will she give in to her feelings for him and give their love a chance? This was a quick and entertaining read with plenty of heat to steam up your kindle! It has a good storyline and will make you smile. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I was given a complimentary copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Joslyn and Dax delivered with this quick, sweet tale of love (or lust) at first meet. Dax knew that meeting Joslyn was fate, so when she runs, he’s a tad aggravated...until he checks his email. And then he’s convinced that they’re truly meant to be. He just needs to convince HER.

Joslyn can’t believe that her currently in shambles life could turn around, but Dax isn’t about to give up on her. So she lets herself believe, until it all crumbles around her. But even then, Dax isn’t letting her go far because he needs to tell her the truth and needs her to believe in them. Luckily, it all works out and we get a happy ending here.

So if you want quick with some emotion and heat, this is definitely a good way to pass some time!

Joslyn’s life is in turmoil when she finds herself without a job or a place to stay. One of the job prospects leads her to a pub for a bartending job but even though the didn’t get the job she ended up with something more valuable as it brought Dax into her life.

Dax is celebrating his last day with the construction crew before he starts his own auto repair shop but from the moment he meets Joslyn he knows she is his destiny. He had no way of contacting her however he soon proved he wasn’t about to just let her walk away.

Their relationship evolved quickly however even though Joslyn was cautious Dax was undeterred as he knew that the only place she belonged was with him.

Joslyn's life took a nosedive in a very short amount of time, and she doesn't know what to do. Dax is out with his friends when he sees Joslyn at the bar alone, and in that instant he knows that he has to have her but she's not looking for a knight in shining armor. It's refreshing to read about a man who feels like not having a person & a family with his person is missing in his life because most of the time it's the man being difficult but in this case, it's Joslyn who is putting up roadblocks. Forever with the Mechanic is a short(ish) story that put a smile on my face, and I believe it will do the same for you so hit those one click buttons as I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This was a entertaining read and another fun entry for this series. I really liked this couple and I thought that their chemistry was intense. The writing was solid and the pacing fast. The combination of emotions, sweetness and heat is enjoyable and altogether I felt this book was a nice little reading treat. This is my volitional, objective review.

This was a super quick read. While I appreciated the masterful plot development in such a short read I hated how high handed Dax was with Joslyn. The sexy charm he laid down made it worth it. It was cute how much he wanted to care for Joslyn despite her protests in the name of independence. Overall, this was fun read with comedy and a little bit of raw romance.

3.5 stars.

I appreciated book one plot a little more. Not that this one was bad just when comparing the two I prefer that one!
I did like how some characters crossed over, so that was nice to read, however the plot didn’t grab my attention as much as book 1 did.

Omg! I absolutely loved Dax and Joslyn! I love the push and pull and how it never felt like the right time for Joslyn with the way her life was going. I love the fact that Dax knew what he wanted and did not give up no matter how stubborn Joslyn was. Such a great story!

This is a short, quick, and steamy read. Joslyn and Dax met went she needed a new job and a new home. So they basically met at the right time because the first time Dax saw her he knew she was the one for him. But only if he can convince her that. I loved their chemistry and push and pull.
