The Source is a time-traveling fantasy comic book series that explores magic throughout history and journeys from East St. Louis to Ancient Egypt written by Don Handfield and Joshua Malkin.

The Source. To some it is magic, to others it is pure power, to St. Louis Missouri high school teacher Jon Flood it is a mystery that will upend his quiet life and thrust him into a journey across time. After discovering that he has inexplicable powers, Jon Flood finds himself on the run from an elite group of tyrannical sorcerers (known as “The Few”) who seek to monopolize the The Source for their own dark purposes. With the help of a Witch named Cate, Flood must learn to use his power to defeat evil and discover who he really is, while venturing through time. Flood and Cate are humanity’s last hope in more ways than they know.

About the author

Don Handfield is an American writer, director and producer. He is the co-creator of Knightfall on History Channel, producer of The Founder starring Michael Keaton and the writer/director of Touchback, starring Kurt Russell and Christine Lahti, which is based on his novel of the same name.

He is also a published author and essayist with a degree in Journalism and Theatre from The Ohio State University. Don lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Tressa, and his children, Robinson and Deacon.

Fun, quick read, but some of the attempts to create historical "connections" were too much of a stretch and I found them a bit distracting.
