Encounter by Graeme Cann is a reflective, immersive devotional that invites readers to walk through the gospel story as a lived journey rather than a distant account. Built around daily readings from the New Living Translation of the Bible, the book traces the three-year path of Jesus’ ministry, moving step by step through Judea, conversation by conversation, moment by moment.

What makes Encounter distinctive is its sense of presence. Cann doesn’t rush the reader through familiar passages; instead, he creates space to linger to listen in as Jesus speaks with individuals, to feel the tension of confrontations, and to witness the quiet awe of miracles and teaching. The structure encourages attentiveness, turning scripture from something read into something experienced.

This is not a devotional meant for passive consumption. Cann invites engagement questions are welcomed, reflection is expected, and transformation is left open-ended. The journey through the gospels becomes personal, sometimes challenging, often clarifying, and consistently grounded in the humanity and authority of Christ.

Readers who appreciate daily devotionals, gospel-centered study, and faith practices that emphasize relationship over routine will find this book deeply resonant. Encounter works best when approached slowly, as intended one day, one passage, one moment at a time.

At its heart, Encounter offers a simple invitation:
Don’t just read about Jesus walk with Him.
