The Long Dark Wages of Sin: A Post Apocalyptic World at War Thriller

Rate this book
The Long Wages of Sin takes place twenty-six years before the events in The Long Dark Descent.

Faith’s morning wasn’t going as she’d expected. Normally, nothing ever changed in her life. Day in and day out, the drudgery was always the same. Then, an emergency caused her parents to have to leave her alone for the weekend. That day of all days they left her. The day the man came.He was injured. But more than that, he wasn’t right. Whether that wasn’t right with the Lord, or just not right in the head, or both, she couldn’t be sure. She felt his evil, and it scared her more than anything else had ever scared her. So afraid she believed he was the devil himself. She prayed things wouldn’t get any worse. It wasn’t a great day for Torrance, either. The mayor was drunk and passed out when the word came there’d been a shooting near the water tower. The beloved cop took a bullet trying to stop a man from doing something to the water tower. With the mayor out of commission, Torrance was called to pay his respects to the family of the gravely wounded officer. Once at the hospital, he noticed a police officer acting strangely. When he tried to talk to him, the officer acted even more erratically, attacking Torrance, before running away.Inside the officer’s police cruiser, Torrance found a container. It was half out of the evidence bag, and some contents were puddled in the backseat. There was no way for him to know just how much that little puddle would do to change not only his life, but eventually the lives of everyone.

Interesting tale

In this book of The Long Dark series, we go back in time. We learn about Janna's past and how she became who she is. Lots of action in this book! Some religion, just to warn anyone that might get triggered. I'm interested to see where the next book in the series takes us. It's been a wild ride so far! Highly recommend

Dark, disturbing, and packed with an incredible cast of characters on journeys fraught with peril. I couldn’t put it down and I absolutely cannot wait to see what happens next
