An old love. A new enemy. A looming threat to the entire MC.

The Dark Pharaohs and I have enough on our plates.
Kasey showing back up in town is the last thing I need.
My first love…
And only one.

The woman whose heart I broke when I enlisted and left all those years ago.
Only, the tension between us goes far beyond old anger and still-open wounds.
My heart and my body are still drawn to her.
A pull neither of us can deny.

But when the actions of her past threaten our future, and the future of the club…
Everything changes.
Flying bullets won’t stop me from protecting what’s mine.
Neither will the objections from my brothers who don’t understand.

This woman may be the death of me…but for her…
I’m willing to go down.

Second chances

Monk was very hard on himself, it broke my heart. Such a loner. I enjoyed this story of Monk and Kasey. Second chance romance. Everyone deserves to be loved for who they are, not what their parents did or didn’t do.

The Biker’s Second Chance

Ten years ago, Monk and Kasey were high school sweethearts but then Monk enlisted and broke Kasey’s heart but now they have that second chance. Is Kasey’s past going to keep them apart or is she willing to take that chance and at who’s expense? This book was full of chemistry and plenty of angst. I look forward to more in this new series.

MONK is the first instalment in Ivy Black’s contemporary, adult DARK PHARAOHS MC erotic, MC romance series. This is Dark Pharaohs member Jacob ‘Monk’ Tulowisky, and twenty-seven year old, Kasey Singer-Deavers’ story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Jacob and Kasey) MONK follows the second chance relationship between Dark Pharaohs member Jacob ‘Monk’ Tulowisky, and twenty-seven year old, Kasey Singer-Deavers. Jacob Tulowisky and Kasey Singer were childhood/high school sweethearts but ten years ago, Jacob ghosted our story line heroine without an explanation or goodbye. Fast forward to present day wherein Kasey discovers that her husband, attorney Spencer Deavers, is currently working the wrong side of the law, and Kasey heads home, without looking back but Kasey’s return to Blue Rock Bay comes with the memories of the past, a past from which, she continues to hurt. Enter Dark Pharaohs members Jacob ‘Monk’ Tulowisky, and the man Kasey has never stopped loving. What ensues is the rekindling relationship between Kasey and Jacob, and the potential fall-out as Kasey struggles to remain one step ahead of the Mexican Cartel.

Kasey Deavers wants a divorce but her husband isn’t willing to give up without a fighter. Stealing from her husband means stealing from his dangerous clients, clients who are demanding everything and more. Monk doesn’t do relationships, having loved and lost but rekindling his relationship with Kasey, means a second chance at happiness, even though there is currently a very large target on her back. Bringing in the Dark Pharaohs to help protect the woman he loves means exposing a past that he is unwilling to forget.

The relationship between Kasey and Jacob is one of second chances; a rekindling romance between two people torn apart by secrets and pain, and a lack of communication between family and friends. Monk aka Jacob has never stopped loving our story line heroine but asking for forgiveness may be more than dangerous than he could have ever imagined. The $ex scenes are intimate and erotic, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to Ivy’s father Sheriff Singer, and her soon to be ex-husband Spencer Deavers, as well as several members of the Dark Pharaoh’s MC: President Prophet, Poe, Cosmo, Trig (Sargeant at Arms) ,Cueball (Treasurer), Doc (VP), and prospect Max aka Domino. The requisite evil has many faces.

MONK is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, second chances, relationships, family and love. The premise is edgy; the romances is provocative ; the characters are strong-willed and intense.

I found it very hard to get into. The main characters didn't even speak to each other until chapter 11 & even then the story line just fell flat for me. I was looking forward to reading this book & found myself very disappointed. It was hard for me to push through. I'm giving it 2 stars because I really appreciated the author's effort. I don't know if she was just an experienced writer or what, but the store just did not grab me & could not hold me. If it would've been any thicker of a book I probably would've just not gone back to it. But since it was such a short story I pushed through.

Boringgggggg

Seriously if you're going to write something, don't keep repeating everything 400 times. It was stale which turned seriously boring. Couldn't even get half way through before kicking this one into the trash. I'll not be reading the other books either if the first one was this bad. One out of ten for effort and even that's pushing it.

Pros: The concept of this was good, character backstories were fleshed out

Cons: multiple spelling and grammar errors. Nothing. Happens. In the first 60% of the book. The dialogue was stale and the characters repeat themselves over and over.

This was a tedious read.

How this book got high ratings I'll never know. Monk and Kasey aren't even a couple in this book til the end. No Chemistry what so ever. They don't meet (reconnect) til middle of the book.

This book came up on my wall as a new release or someone from my friends list read this book. So I thought, what the heck, I'll start reading it. I know the first 5 pages, this is going to be a good or bad book, but I still wanted to give it ago. Well, it bored me at the beginning and I kept pushing through. Not a good sign when you are skipping the pages. This book did not grab my attention, but I kept pushing through, trying to see how everyone else rated it 4 to 5 stars. The love story between Kasey and her evil Husband Spencer, who is a arrogant Lawyer, decided to get caught up with a drug cartel. He was missioned to transfer $1,000,000 into off shore bank accounts. Kasey overhead the conversations in her home, sneaky up to her Husband's office. She approached him and Spencer, let out the beast of the evil person he is. Kasey ended up running away to her hometown and bumped into the biker gang "The Dark Pharaohs", who the guy was named "Jacob", he was her first love. There is a lot of history between them. The book is about 230 pages and it wasn't till page 130, the storyline start to pick up. The story ending was predictable and average, could of been a much better ending.

Ms. Black is an amazing author. She tells a great point of view story set with a lot of feeling.
This is a new series about a MC called the Dark Pharaohs. These men are trying to survive and find a place to call home and find some peace.
Monk is a Vet., and also has anger problems stemming from his youth. When he is rotated out of the service, he comes back to the only place that he knows, home, to the town that has hated him from birth. He is looking for a family, he finds it with the Pharaohs.
Kasey is on the run, so she runs back to a town that never changes, and is here home and has her family. When she runs into the boy ,who left with her heart again, she finds a man who has lived a rough life and is hardened by what has happened to him.
They fight, argue, and love, but they always protect the ones who mean the most to them either thur blood or loyalty. That is what being family is all about.

Monk is the first book in Ivy Black’s new Dark Pharaohs MC series. It is second chance alpha male romance with a pinch of action, a dash of suspense and a whole lot of chemistry. All great ingredients for an amazing book and series.

Jacob “Monk” Tulowisky has been adrift since he left town and Kasey Singer, his one and only true friend and love, to enlisted. Ten years later the passion and his feelings have not changed and neither has Kaseys, but with a dangerous past shadowing her, can she risks her heart and the lives of those around her for a second chance with the love of her life? Read it and find out!

This is a great new series. The characters and storyline were great and once started, I could put the book done. I am looking forward to reading more from this fantastic author and series.

Monk is a strong start to the new Dark Pharaohs MC series by Ivy Black. This story is about Monk and Kasey. They were high school sweethearts and now ten years later are getting a second chance. Monk has had a rough life and when he rotates out of the military he lands back in his hometown. Kasey is running from her own demons in the form of her soon to be ex husband. This brings dangerous complications that threatens the whole towns happiness.
With all the danger, twists and turns, secrets, and raging emotions you will be on the edge of your seat for this volcanic reunion.
Can Monk and Kasey make it work this time? Or are the struggles to much for them?

I don't know why but when I started this book I didn't think it was going to be a really good one. Glad I was wrong.

I was wondering why the MMC had a biker name as Monk.... I mean is he waiting until marriage....lol. No just not a social person. You'll understand if you read it.

One thing to never ever do is give your dream up for another person. Never going to be worth it. If he wants you as you are and doesn't hold you back then you have a good person to stand by your side.

My only real complaint is I wish it were longer.

The characters are so lifelike they jump off the page! You feel their emotions and pain, their bitterness and anger, their desperation and despair! However you also feel their hope, joy, and the rebirth of a love that never completely died! They fight for their lives, their hope and their love! As her life hangs by a thread, will he be able to safe her from the cartel and her psycho husband! Or is it too late?

An Alright Read

Monk is a Ex-Military/Bad Boy/ MC Biker Second Chance Romance story, with a lot of introspection. The characters are realistic to their roles, the facts are imaginative fiction and the steamy scenes are mild, but detailed. It reads perfectly well as a standalone story, though it's a part of a series. Overall this was an alright read, but definitely not a favorite for me.

Something was missing from this. I'm not really sure what. It was alright but it didn't hit the way I was hoping it would. I was happy to see her dad come around and admit he was wrong there at the end.
